Our defensive line has been awful. Without seeing the All 22 I am not sure if it has to do with the scheme we are running in the secondary to slow down their WRs, but we need to figure it out. If Miami never throws another pass, we might be in trouble. -

Allen is just absurd...... I am so glad we don't have to play against him. -

Brady has to learn when to hit a team with play action. It was a perfect time to do it there. -

Our defensive line is losing badly right now.... A stop is a stop, though. Really need the offense to put us up 10 here. -

Beane better be scouring the FA list and be on the phone looking to trade for a MLB. The guys we have just aren't going to cut it all year. Also, I want to see Ray Davis on the field on 3rd downs. He is probably our best receiving back and should be getting this chances, not Johnson. -

Yeah. Hopefully he doesn't figure it out because I swear they can run reverses and dives all game and continue to pick up first downs without throwing. -

Going to have to get a few of those tonight because our defense looks lost with all the motion they are using. -

That fumble is not to be blamed on the glove by itself, but if it is forcing us to go shotgun on short yardage, then it is to blame in some way. -

Ugh.....guess the tush push isn't an option. Between the injuries and the fact that don't have our whole playbook in is not good. Having to go shotgun on 3rd and 1 is not ideal. PS. And yes, that fumble is not to be blamed on the glove by itself, but if it is forcing us to go shotgun on short yardage, then it is to blame in some way. -

Dan Fetes @danfetes Terrel Bernard came out of the blue medical tent holding his left shoulder. Walked around for a few steps and then went back to the #Bills locker room with trainers. Not good. -

Looked like a messed up coverage too..... Not a good series at all by the defense. Seems like we can never get a stop after we score to take a lead. Same old story there. -

The game plan for Tua is the same as it always was......don't let him throw in rhythm. It has been proven time and time again with him that if you either rush his throws or make him hold onto the ball an extra second, the chances of him completing his passes goes down exponentially. Yes, that is the case for a lot of QBs, but it seems like these thing affect Tua more than other QBs. So, send pressure up the middle to get him off his spot. He doesn't move overly well and he doesn't have the arm strength to compensate and because of this, his accuracy dips dramatically. Obviously, we should try jamming the WRs off the line as well, but that to me is a little riskier of a play because if you miss against these guys, they're gone. And the biggest concern I have on defense in this game is our safeties. I mean, I think they will be a concern every game, but in these games, against elite speed WRs, their inexperience is scary. Last year was tough because, although Hyde and Poyer knew what was coming, they didn't have the speed to keep up anymore. Now, we have more athleticism back there, but they have no idea about the angles they need to take. So, hopefully our front 4 play a great game, and we can have some success sending some pressure up the middle. -
Allen's hand. Taron Johnson's arm. Overall bad safety play. A still new WR corps that will have ups and downs all season. A short turnaround against a division rival. Of course there are reasons for concern. We're going to have to clean up all the mental mistakes as well. This is not going to be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.

This is what we are going to need out of him this year. He's going to have a rough go of it at times until he learns how to get off of press consistently. He's obviously not going to run by or run away from anyone, so he needs to impact the game in other ways and making a tightly contested catch in a big moment for a big play is how he can help us until he learns the nuances of the game.

That is the definition of a team win....well, aside from special teams. I mean, good on Bass for making his kicks, but that entire unit is a trash fire. That said, Allen is still every bit the MVP we know he is. Cook ran hard and the run blocking was overall very good. Shakir is so underrated in the league and is going to make so many big plays for us this season. Coleman, makes the play we need him to make. He may not have the most consistent year, but if he makes those clutch plays when we need them, he will earn the playing time he's getting. Hollins, while he may get a lot of crap for the things he does, made a couple great plays in the passing game and blocked his butt off. We didn't use Samuel the way I think we will use him later this season, but he's been banged up, so that may be why he didn't do the things I think we are expecting him to do. But, he still made a couple nice plays. The "everybody eats" philosophy was definitely on display today. Kincaid was quiet, but I guarantee you there will be games he absolutely dominates this year. On defense, it was a mixed bag. Better as the game went along for sure. Groot was a beast out there. Von did a Von thing today in a crucial situation. The CBs took Harrison out of the game. The safeties were shaky, though. Out of position a lot, but in the end, the ball hits the ground when we needed it to. There is a lot to work on, though. So many mental mistakes that just can't happen and it cost us points on both sides of the ball. But, all in all, it was a lot of what I expected heading into the season. There are going to be growing pains and we are going to have a lot of them early this season. But, we still have 17. Hopefully his hand is OK because, if he's healthy, he will cover up a lot of issues as he always does. Tough turnaround on a short week to have to go on the road, though. Enjoy it tonight because it's right back to work tomorrow.
