Packers @ Eagles in Brazil - Sept 6 at 8:15pm
sven233 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe it's just me, but I don't get the Jordan Love hype. He's been missing open guys and he just basically threw a 2 yard hospital ball on 3rd down way short of the sticks. On a positive note, the GB offensive scheme looks pretty good, but the trigger man has just been missing a ton tonight. -
I had a feeling this was going to happen when the announced the rules. The 30 yard line is not penalty enough for kicking it out of the end zone. However, if the moved it to the 35, or even the 40, I think you would see most of the kicks in play. I think teams would be a lot more hesitant giving up the 35-40 against an Allen or Mahomes (or any other elite QBs) given the fact they would only have to go 30-40 yards to get points. Coaches are conservative by nature and anything they can do to control a potentially bad outcome, they are going to do. But man......having to give up the 40 would make these coaches reevaluate that decision, though. The 30? It was never going to be enough.

What brutal clock management by the Ravens.....and Jackson for holding the ball for forever.... -

I mean, a 300lb lineman could have scored on that play if the defense is just going to let the guy go and not cover him. But yeah...... the blow up will be something. -

I said it earlier, but if the NFL truly wants returns on kickoffs, they really need to increase the penalty for kicking it out of the end zone. They need to bring it out to the 35 at minimum. Maybe it will even take the 40 yard line. -

Quite honestly, I have no idea how the Ravens are only down 3 right now going into halftime. I mean, they are a missed FG away from being tied. They have been pretty bad on both sides of the ball. They have to feel extremely lucky to be in this right now. -

Starting to think I should have drafted Likely instead of Andrews. He looks like the go to guy in the TE group. -

Maybe...... But that really isn't the point. I'm more upset about the officiating.... -

Of course..... Andrews first catch negated by another illegal formation call. A call mind you that could be called on the Chiefs every play but has not been called once on them yet..... -

Not sure he would have been able to get that far down the field in that amount of time..... Cause he's slow..... -

The refs in mid season form. Chiefs tackle starts 4 seconds early, no call........ By the way, he looks every bit as much lined up in the backfield on every play as the Ravens tackle was..... -

Jackson not even looking for Andrews is starting to tick me off. Not just for fantasy reasons, but for pure football reasons. I have absolutely no idea how people, especially voters for MVP, can think this guy is the best player in the league. Blows my mind. He's talented for sure, but to say he's among the best QBs in the NFL is just not true. I get he won it last year because the Ravens won a lot of games, but statistically speaking, he was among the worst MVPs ever to win. -

That may be true, but the problem is the guy we drafted would still be trying to get passed the line of scrimmage...... (Because he's slow......) -

Thoughts so far.... 1. Most teams are just going to kick the ball out of the end zone until the penalty for not putting the ball in play becomes more severe. If they move the ball to the 40 instead of the 30, teams will kick the ball in play. 2. The illegal formation calls could be rough. Just hope the refs keep that same energy when the Chiefs are on offense and their tackles are lining up 2 yards back in the backfield. 3. Pretty good opening drive by the Ravens. Chiefs had several chances to get them off the field and couldn't do it. Not rooting for either team, but actively rooting against the Chiefs. 4. We're 1 drive into the season and the ball washing of the Chiefs is already too much to take. -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread

And you wonder why so many have said he can't create separation..... I mean you can just see how slow he is compared to everyone else. -
You know what......he goes on and on about the last 10 games and what was different. I don't give a crap anymore about what was different. The only thing I remember, and what most everyone remembers, is that a perfect deep ball hit you in the hands against the Chiefs that likely would have won us that game and you dropped it. Yes, maybe you didn't have a ton of opportunities coming down the stretch, but you had the THE BIGGEST opportunity to send us to the AFC Championship game last season and you let the ball slip through your hands in the most important moment of the season. In fact, outside of like 1 playoff game, you got owned by the Chiefs and Bengals DBs (yes, I know they were holding on every play) but once again he came up small in the biggest games. Look, I like Diggs a lot as a player. I think he is fantastic and he was great for us more than he wasn't. But he needs to stop talking.

Which interests you more this season... SNF or MNF???
sven233 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm watching both regardless, but the teams that are playing are really the only thing that truly matters. Some games are just going to be better than others. I can always mute the TV if I don't like the commentary although it sticks to have to do that sometimes. -
How Is Rashee Rice Not Suspended Or On The Exempt List?
sven233 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last I heard, his trial date isn't until December. I have heard sever people say it's likely the discipline will come next season and not this one. If they wanted to, they could just suspend him indefinitely. They could say that if you put yourself in these situations, you shouldn't get to play. Pay can be different. Maybe he should still get paid until the league determines discipline, but playing could be different. They obviously won't be doing that but these are the types of situations I don't think anyone besides Chiefs fans and their organization would care. -
He's better than Trubisky for sure. I fully expect him to end up our primary backup once he learns the offense. I mean, depending on Trubisky's health, it could be as soon as week 1. He's not great, but one thing I will say is that he's one of the toughest QBs I've seen. The Bills basically broke him in half, but the dude never quit in that game. He earned my respect in that game after the beating he took.

As of right now, I think Andreeson is someone who they would like to keep, but may be forced to release due to a numbers crunch at other positions. I think they believe they will be able to still get him on the PS because of his undrafted status, etc. That said, if he comes out today and puts another game on film like the one he had last week......well, they will be forced to keep him if they want him because one of these lesser talented rebuilding teams will gladly put him on their 53. Of all the players on the bubble, I think he legitimately has the most to play for today. He will start and probably get 2-3 quarters of playing time. If he plays well and they pull him before halftime, I think we will all know that he could be our backup MLB this season. This game today will be a pile of garbage in a lot of ways, but I am super excited to watch him play. I don't know if Solomon is going to get to play because of the injury he suffered, but if he does, he's another guy that is absolutely playing for a roster spot today. He has flashed quite a few times this preseason and if he plays and has another solid game, I think they keep him as well. It's going to be very tough for the offensive guys to make an impression, especially with the QBs we will have playing. Guys like Shavers, Hamler, etc. are going to have to go out there and just win their routes as much as possible whether they get the ball or not. They will also have to show a willingness to block in the run game. If they put on tape that they can win their match ups and block, they will make an impression and their case to stay regardless of whether they catch a pass or not. But, if a ball does happen to come to them and it is catchable, they better make the play.

Panthers @ Bills, Preseason game 3, Sat 8/24 1pm
sven233 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah. Glad we will not have to endure that. Unfortunately, that means we have to watch 2 other QBs flounder out there instead...... Man, this backup QB situation is just awful. With what QBs? There are no QBs on this team that will be playing in this game that can throw the football. I doubt we see 10 completed passes the entire game.
