That's the point, though. Right now, teams are conceding the 30 too much. They want more returns. So, if they make the penalty for a touch back a little harsher, they are hoping more teams put the ball in play and try to cover the kicks. Ultimately, in an ideal world, just about every kick should be returned.

Look.....Mahomes is really good for sure. But man, there are a lot of guys in this league that would have supreme success with Reid as their head coach. That's not mentioning all of the other great coaches on that staff. By far the best coached team in the league.

Watching all these games around the league with QBs throwing bombs to their fast, athletic WRs. We throw them to Mack freaking Hollins. I mean, seriously......Mack Hollins is a starting WR for us, in a Super Bowl window with an all time QB playing for us. Beane owes Allen some real talent. I'm not talking Diggs and Davis. Allen deserves better than Davis there.

Sure.....having the injured guys return is nice. But we're not winning anything of consequence with the WRs we have. I suppose that if you are looking for a silver lining, this all happening before the trade deadline and it becoming painfully obvious we do not have a WR1 or WR2 on this team. It will take some extreme financial gymnastics thanks to so many bad contracts on this team, but Beane HAS to do something. Him not doing anything and basically donating another year of Allen's prime is just unacceptable. Look, I don't want to trade a 2nd for Adams. I really don't. But Beane should be calling every team about every WR. We are desperate for a WR. Not only that, we are desperate for a WR with some speed that can stretch a defense.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

This may be one of the worst overall WR rooms we have ever fielded. Shakir is good. Maybe even a great slot WR. Coleman may turn into a good #4 WR someday. We have no WR1 or WR2. It is a bunch of replacement level players at best right now. -
Ask Brady. We saw one shot to him down the middle of the field where Allen under-threw him. The ball travels 1 more yard in the air and it's a TD. That said, without seeing the All 22, this was the only time I saw him working deep down the field. His strength is working the seams and over the intermediate to deep middle of the field. Instead they have him working sideways. In fact, this entire offense is working sideways and within 10 yards of the LOS. It's an embarrassing offensive scheme. But not having any NFL caliber WRs on the field isn't helping anything.

The play looked pretty identical. While he still needs to man up there and make that block, I am not going to push too hard on him today because he was banged up during the week and at one point it didn't even look like he was going to play. But yeah..... he needs to hold his block there.

We have idiots for coaches. We have a terrible punter and kicker. We have no talent at the skilled positions. I'm done with this current regime. They will never win anything. They never learn from their mistakes. -

We are going to lose on a FG. If they run a play, hold the guy up and pray the time runs out..... -

Gotta be real careful here. Can't play conservative with them having 3 TOs. We have a terrible punter. We need at least 1 first down to get to OT. -

We are probably going to end up losing this game. We've all seen this story too many times before. But we have nobody to blame but ourselves. We have had numerous opportunities in this game on both sides of the ball (and in coaching decisions). -

Going to have to make at least 1 more stop on defense to have a chance to win this one. I just have no confidence on either side of the ball, or the coaching staff, in critical moments. -

Hopefully Allen tanked his baseline test on purpose so it's easier for him to clear. HA! No....in all seriousness, I just hope he's OK. -

Just out of curiosity, I headed over to Spotrac to check out who is taking up the most cap space. Some interesting names and numbers. Outside of Allen, here are our biggest current cap hits: #1 Diggs - $30 million and not even playing for us. He literally has the same cap hit this year that Allen does. #5 Dawson Knox - Making TE1 money but us nowhere to be found on the field #6 Tyler Bass - No.....I'm not joking. Sixth highest 2024 cap hit on the team #8 Kair Elam - No.....I'm not joking. Eighth highest 2024 cap hit on the team #10 Curtis Samuel - One of the biggest FA busts of the entire off season After Kincaid at #12, you have to go all the way to #18 to find another skill player and that name is Mack Hollins. I don't think it is a stretch to see where a lot of the blame for this inept offense needs to go. To not have 2 great WRs on this list tells you all you need to know about the construction of this offensive roster. Beane and the front office have handicapped Allen and this offense in a big way. -

Look.....Allen is off today so far. BUT This is way bigger than Josh Allen. This is an overall lack of talent problem. Our WRs STINK. Outside of Shakir, we have nobody that can get open. Samuel has been an embarrassment. Coleman can't separate (every ball he catches is contested). Hollins is awful. MVS is a waste of money. There is absolutely nobody on this team, outside of Allen that any team fears. Cook is a fine player, but teams are not game planning for him out of fear. Kincaid is an amazing talent that Brady has no idea how to use. To me, this goes a lot deeper than the players. This is on Beane and the front office. All of us could see this coming. They didn't. Yes, Allen is great. Maybe the best out there. But he still needs talent to make plays for him. I mean, look no further than the other sideline. Collins is maybe the best WR in the league and that still wasn't good enough for them. Their WR corps runs 4-5 deep. Stroud is a good QB. Maybe even a great QB. Regardless, that team knew that you have to play to your strength and surrounded him with great weapons. Not only is the WR group one of the best in the league, but the RB room is solid too. They're hurt today (thank God, because we would be getting beat even worse than we are), but they do have talent there. We are just outclassed on every level on offense against most teams outside of QB. Beane needs to do something. I know he is limited due to the cap, but we need a WR1 and a WR2. Shakir is a great slot option and Coleman will make a great 4th WR. But he needs 2 starting WRs because they are not on this team. We have no speed and no downfield passing game. Everything is within 10 yards of the LOS. That should never happen when Josh Allen is your QB.
