This game is going to be pumped up all week. It's going to be made out to be the biggest game of the season by many. But you know what? I don't really care. Don't get me wrong. Of course I want to win. But I am done with barometer games against this team. The only game against this team that matters will be in January if it happens. That is the only result that counts at this point. Win this game Sunday by 50 or lose by 50, I'm not going to care either way because the only time beating this team matters anymore to me is in the postseason. I don't want to take away any excitement from anyone that is amped up about this game. Go nuts. I hope we win. But I'm definitely to the point that I am over the regular season games against this team. Seems like we beat them every time except when it really counts, so I am just not going to get into the hype this week. On top of that, I do not expect us to field our best team this week because of the injuries either. I would be shocked if Cooper or Coleman play in this game with the Bye right around the corner, so I am not sure how much we will be able to take away from this game regardless of the outcome. For me, it is about getting through the game healthy, going into the Bye week with a chance to heal up, and then come out and working towards playing our best football come January.

Nice finish boys. We didn't field our best team. We didn't play our best game. We found a way. Gotta get healthy in a hurry, though. -

Credit to Vandy there. Tough spot coming in for Brown and the next thing you knows he's running full out leading the way for Shakir. -

It's a good thing we are playing Flacco and a very average Colts team today. They are doing everything they can to help us and we aren't really doing anything on offense to help ourselves. We field this same team next week, it's going to be a very long game. -

We definitely are not fielding a great team today. Definitely not one that is good enough to win a Super Bowl. But, we are playing an opponent that we should beat even with the guys we have out and not playing our best. They are trying to help us win, but we just haven't gone out and taken it yet. Here's another chance, but we need to change up the play calling a bit. -

I have no problem with Brown doing that whatsoever. Just hoping that creates a spark here and we can get some consistency going. That was a great drive. -

Look....I get it. They see these guys day in and day out and we don't so we can't see for ourselves what is happening in practice. But, I just don't understand why Hamler can't get a shot. A guy like Shavers gets called up multiple times and I am not sure he has made more than 1 or 2 catches for us. I actually can't think of any off the top of my head. Hamler, although he has battled through a ton of injuries, was at one point a 2nd round pick, showed that, when healthy anyways, that he could make plays in this league. He offers elite speed that is lacking on this team as well. Now do I expect any of these guys to have any type of a major impact on this team or in this game, including Hamler? No. I don't. But I guess I would like to see a different element in the offense to see what it looks like. I wouldn't be even bringing this up if we were getting anything of note from Samuel, but when we are lining up with Shakir and Hollins as our 2 top WRs, I am more apt to want to swing for the fences with a guy we haven't seen that does at least offer something different. Whatever, though. Like I said, they see these guys every day and know what they offer. There must be a reason they like Shavers better even though he hasn't offered much on the field. I am guessing it's probably that Shavers is a better blocker in the run game, but call me crazy, I'd like my WRs to catch the ball once in a while as well. But hey, that's just me. I was completely expecting this to happen, so it's not a surprise at all. -
These discussions are so hard because of the eras and the differences in the game. Kelly and his draft class really were among the first to make passing a bigger part of the sport, even though if you look at the run/pass breakdowns, it is a lot closer to 50-50 than you might think. Also, defenses were pretty much allowed with murder on the field back then. Different game today. Everyone is throwing the ball all over the place, as you should, because that's how the rules have gone. Passing is encouraged and you can't touch the QBs and hardly even touch the WRs at this point. Great throwers of the ball back then would probably still be great today because they can't be touched in today's league. That said, you have to maybe be a little more athletic at the position with the way the game is trending now. But, could the guys today hold up to the physical pounding they would have taken back in day? Some of them could for sure, but not everyone. It's just so hard to say and compare. In terms of just comparing Kelly to Allen, though, it's real close. I am as big a Kelly guy as there is, but Allen plays with the same heart and the same tenacity which is why we love him. Is Allen there yet? Maybe. But Allen also, God willing, has several more years ahead of him to get there. He will undoubtedly own every meaningful franchise record by the time he's done. The fact of the matter is this. The minute Allen hoists the Lombardi Trophy and brings this city it's first championship, he goes down as the greatest Buffalo Bill of all time. He passes Thurman, Kelly, Bruce.....everyone. The second he wins a title, he becomes the GOAT for this franchise, and, by the time's it's over, one of the best the league has ever seen.

Yup....I put him on the bench to go with Tua because I expected this game to be in the teens most of the way. My worst decision of the season so far. It's a Super Flex league so I still have Allen to play, but with the WRs we are going to be fielding, I am not sure that is going to go well. Just a terrible decision by me.

Really not liking how this is shaping up on offense this week. Looking like Shakir and Hollins as our WRs. We thought we were thin at WR before. Man.....this isn't ideal. That said, while I doubt it will happen, I'd like to see KJ Hamler get some run and try to add so speed to the position. But he has kind of been the forgotten man to this point. Wasn't even the 2nd WR elevation. But we really could use someone to stretch the field and the guys we have just don't do that.

Allen with tears in his eyes talking about Bass in his post game field interview. I feel so good for everyone involved. The defense on the other hand isn't beating anyone good that is committed to running the ball. Our defensive line just isn't built for it. With our cap situation, I am not sure Beane is ready to go out and do something about it before the deadline either. We really need a run stuffing DT, though. Badly..... -

Watching that kick again, that was good from 70+. Bass just said screw everything and just kicked the ball as hard as he could. Best kick, maybe outside of the Lions game, of his career.
