Antonio Brown RELEASED, signed by PATS

You just know he is going to be a Patriot* by the end of the weekend..... -
I have long grown tired of having the opposing defense dictate what we do on offense. Now, we haven't exactly had the best personnel on offense to reverse this trend, but now.....it's time to change that. It's time for us to come out and impose our offensive strengths on defenses. We finally have a QB that is willing to be aggressive and push the ball down the field. Allen is a big, strong, fast QB that can stretch the field. Now, he isn't perfect, and he will never be the most accurate guy, but so what. If I'm the Bills, I am using 4 and 5 WRs a bunch. I am sending guys to all levels of the field, mostly attacking the intermediate and long areas. This will get guys out of the box and force defenses to cover down the field. Allen is a strong enough runner to make team pay with his legs if they commit too many guys deep and more than good enough with his arm to make teams pay if they don't respect him throwing the ball. Running guys down the field will also open more holes in the running game and we have backs that can take advantage of that. Force the defense to get guys out of the box and get them deeper than they are used to playing. Allen doesn't have to be a 65% completion guy to be good in the league. This is a league of big plays and big plays lead to points. So, I would be just fine with him at 55%-57% if he is constantly pushing the ball deep. If he does that, the shorter stuff will open up and he can take those when needed. But you have to play to Allen's strengths and he has shown to have a very unique skill set and do things that most other QBs can't do. So, don't force Allen to try and be perfect. Let him do what he does and run a vertical offense.....maybe to an extreme that hasn't been done before in the league. Go out and force defenses to do something they don't normally have to do and just not react to what they want to do. Go impose your will.

It's simple..... the QB. Like it or not, Allen is going to be disrespected and be shoved down everyone's throats as a BUST........until Allen proves them wrong. Most were so convinced Allen was going to be absolutely awful coming out of college with a 0% chance of getting better. They will hold onto every shred of that they can until Allen obliterates that narrative. Allen could throw for 350 yards in several games this year with a 57% completion percentage and all they will focus on is how he is "inaccurate" because he misses a couple throws once in a while and isn't completing 63% of his passes. Even if Allen does fantastic this year, there will still be the majority out there calling "fluke." Any other QB does the same thing, they will get praised for being the next great one. Just the way it is, unfortunately. That said, I hope Josh starts flexing on everyone this year. GO BILLS!

Still looking to see if we are doing this again this year. Always fun. Both the Pick'em and Survivor pools are great. Hope to see the links soon. -
Good for Shady signing with the Chiefs. Wish him nothing but the best until we have to beat him in the Playoffs.......

If he was a lock for the roster, he wouldn't play at all. Regardless, even if he doesn't play, or play a lot, doesn't mean he couldn't be traded for a late round pick. No matter which way you look at it, there is a realistic chance he is not starting the season with us. -

That guy is a joke. He has never gotten anything right. That said, Zay could be cut, bit not because this guy has info, but because it's obvious to everyone that it COULD happen. -
Re-watching that TD. Man....Knox had a great cut block to spring McKenzie.

McKenzie has to make this team. He does so many good things.

Jets Brandon Copeland suspended 4 games
sven233 replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good news for us. Pretty much everyone (national media and it seems like most football fans) are saying that the Jets are going to be better than us this season. And, while I don't believe that is true, they will be competition for sure. However, if we can beat them Week 1, they may find themselves in early trouble with the first half of the schedule they have. They have a tough go of it out of the gate and if we can get them right off the bat, they may find themselves out of the race sooner rather than later. Ps. Has there ever been a player more universally disrespected and hated on in NFL history than Josh Allen? I mean, really......it is ridiculous. I will be the first to tell you that Allen was not my first choice in that draft class, but it was never because of his talent level or where I thought he could get to in his career. I just knew he was very rough around the edges, had a lot of bad mechanical habits, and needed a lot of work. My biggest concern going in was how long that was going to take. I always made sure to say that even though I didn't want us to draft him, that I realized there was a good chance he could end up being the best QB in that class eventually because he has every tool you want a QB to have. He has made improvements by leaps and bounds much faster than I, and many others, anticipated. However, it seems that most people that thought he was terrible in college, believed he is always going to be terrible. He is the only player I have ever seen with a rap like that. I don't get it. Every other player can possibly get better, but somehow Allen can't? I just don't understand. -
Couldn't have asked for much more in this game, particularly from the first 2 units. Both sides of the ball looked good and hopefully we came out of the game pretty healthy. For the first time in a very long time, it looks like we have some tough decisions to make to get to the 53 man roster. Unfortunately, we're going to have to cut some pretty good players. But, it's nice to have that problem rather than it being the other way around like it has been for so many years now.

OK series. Ford had a tough time at RT, though..... beaten a couple of times at least.

BREAKING: Josh Gordon suspended indefinitely after "celebrating" a bit too much after learning of his reinstatement. What a joke this guy, and this league, are.....
-
He only gets like 20% of what he says right (so don't take it too seriosly), but who knows what this is pertaining to. Always fun to talk about rumors whether they are true or not. IB @incarceratedbob · 14m Buffalo Bills noise IB@incarceratedbob · 16m Damn these Buffalo Bills are up to something

Josh Criticized for same throw Mayfield Praised For
sven233 replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The play in question was Allen's best throw of the game. It was money. An NFL receiver is not only supposed to catch that, but score as well. That was a great throw. Allen had 2 bad throws in this game. He overthrew Zay deep and threw that 3rd down curl too low. His other incompletions happen in NFL games. Was Allen perfect in this game? NO! But he wasn't awful, either. He needs to hit those throws I just mentioned, but the one that this post is about was a great throw. -

There were some terrible mistakes, but there was a lot of good in this game for the Bills. Solid outing for the first preseason game. -

It's very good. Not "Allen" good, but it's one of the best in the league. -

Overall, as first preseason games go, that was a good half of football for the Bills. Dominant on defense and the offense did really well for the most part before killing themselves on a couple of occasions. Not too shabby. Players are already separating themselves. Ready for Jackson vs Kelly in the 2nd half. -

Zay's lucky his head is still attached to him. Could have been very bad for the head or collarbone there. That said, the ball hit him perfectly and he has to catch it.
