  1. I'm not losing any sleep over whether or not a player stands, but this makes sense from the league perspective. It's not that it had any impact on the game, it's that the storylines started becoming political and who was protesting and who wasn't. The country is divided on politics. There's a reason people don't discuss politics at work.
  2. I live in the DC area. Most fans want Cousins, but think he'll be gone because the Front Office is incompetent. Personally, I'd take Cousins and use the draft picks to build the roster. Buffalo may even be an attractive landing spot. The team made the playoffs and has a lot of draft picks.
  3. I just miss highlights that actually told the story of the game instead of just a couple big plays. I'll see big plays on Twitter or the RedZone channel anyhow. Even the NFL Network highlight show is going downhill. I tried to watch this week and it didn't seem like they showed more than a couple plays from each game. The rest of it was Deion Sanders yapping on about something.
  4. I really wanted an upgrade at Punter. Schmidt was pretty bad the second half of last season.
  5. I doubt the Bills want to carry 4 QBs. If the Hoyer news is true we'd have 4 QBs if we drafted one. Does Cardale get cut in this scenario?
  6. I'd rather draft a guy. We can't have that much money tied up in TEs
  7. Could be. Just not sure who would be trading for him. Cleveland? San Fran?
  8. Rooting for the Falcons for obvious reasons. I expect the Pats to win another though. Defense always seems to beat offense in these games and the Patriots have the best scoring defense. I am just so sick of the Patriots. The parity in the AFC is terrible.
  9. This one makes me irrationally angry when I hear it. It's not the ball's highest point, it's the receiver's highest point. Why can they not just say "He caught the ball at his highest point"
  10. My bad then, I just read it on deadspin. I try to avoid Cowherd at all costs.
  11. I'm stealing this from a Deadspin comments section, but it would be funny if part of the punishment was forcing the Patriots to be on Hard Knocks the next two seasons. That would piss Belichick off for sure.
  12. Bills fans have a reason to be disgruntled in this case. The Bills play these guys twice a year and for a 1/3 of their division games. Fans of NFC teams probably don't care as much. I wouldn't be as upset if it was the Rams who were caught.
  13. I will say that I have wondered why the Patriots were always able to throw the ball so well in bad weather games. I remember the snow game against the Cardinals the year the Cardinals went to the superbowl and Brady was throwing the ball all over the place and Warner couldn't do anything. Makes you wonder how long they've been doing this.
  14. The thing is that people still watch the Pro Bowl. The ratings will probably still be better than most other programming on that night. Look at all the crappy college bowl games that still draw enough viewers to make it profitable for the networks. People will watch pretty much any football game, so it's not going away anytime soon. Personally I hate the Pro Bowl, but I will admit to at least flipping to it a couple times while it's on. Like others, I'd rather a skill competition or something similar. Heck, I'd probably rather watch them all bowl against each other.
  15. During the game Sunday, Brady threw a pass to Vereen down the left sideline and the ball flight looked weird to me. I told my buddy I thought that throw looked weird, so I think it's kind of funny this came out after the game. Were the underinflated ball the cause of the lopsided victory? No, most likely not, but every little bit helps. It makes you wonder what else they do. I think it's a fair question to ask when the organization has a history of cheating. I read the Spygate book a couple years ago ever since I've been saying I think the Patriots are still cheating. If you look at their performance over the last decade from a purely statistical point of view, what they've accomplished is near impossible. The NFL has never seen anything like it. Not even before the cap and free agency. How have they done so well with many no name players? How can they have a winning season without even having an offensive coordinator? Are they still using radio communication beyond what the NFL allows? Why did Peyton Manning refuse to discuss plays in the locker room because he thought someone was listening? Maybe there's nothing there and it turns out Brady and the Hoodie are the greatest ever, and I'm just jealous. There's just too many unanswered questions for me to just blindly believe they are that great.
  16. Serious question. How does one text plays to the sideline. I've never seen an OC on the sideline looking at a phone. Are they using those new Surface tablets?
  17. I'd actually be ok with Shanahan. Especially if we were able to keep Schwartz around as DC. Shanny always has a solid run game (Morris was a stud with Shanny in Washington) and went to an AFC Championship with Jake Plummer. His time in Washington is difficult to judge. He didn't want McNabb but Snyder brought him in anyway. He made the playoffs with RG3, who apparently isn't all that good. He clashed with Snyder in the end got fired, just like the last eight or so Washington coaches. I think he could potentially have some success with EJ. Shanny's offense is a run oriented, play action offense. I think EJ has the skill set to succeed in that type of offense if developed correctly.
  18. First post! Marrone exercised an option in his contract, one that will give him a free $4 Million. Hard to really fault him for that if he knew he would be able to get another HC job easily. That being said, decisions like that come with consequences. Marrone had to know that opting out would instantly make him one of the most hated men in Buffalo. He knew he would be burning every bridge on his way out. I think what bothers me is that he didn't leave with class. He could have released a statement with some generic "doing what's best for my family" wording. Instead he goes out ripping the organization. One that will probably look completely different in a year anyway because of the new owner. This team gave you shot in the NFL, apparently gave you a sweetheart contract, and this team gave you 9 wins and made you a "hot name" in the coaching searches. Show some class.
