Wife and I don't have gluten issues - so we bread with egg and Italian seasoned bread crumbs. As far as the sauce goes - I have tried various Asian sauces from Supermarkets which were good. The best sauce I have had comes from a bar out in Strykersville NY - called the Flipside. Take 400 to 20A east veer right on route 78 - bar is on left hand side. It is called Abbott sauce. (Owner's concoction I guess) You can buy it by the jar there (about $5 per jar). Or stop out there and try the breaded wings with medium Abbott sauce - They are among the best tasting wings I have had in my life. You have to get the breaded wings though. They are definitely better than regular wings. Thinking about them is making me hungry. Don't know if you can handle it with the gluten issue or not. Not sure how much gluten you get from the breading or the sauce. But damn those wings are wicked good. The medium wings aren't hot at all. So if you like more heat - order the wings Abbott hot.

Tanking is pointless unless you are essentially guaranteed to get a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback. And you aren't guaranteed of that. What you are suggesting doing is betting everything on Red on a Roulette wheel for one spin. It's friggin dumb when you are betting the equivalent of all of your paychecks for the next 3-5 years. You would have a very good chance of being homeless for years. Enjoy your cardboard box house. You get better by evaluating talent better than the other teams do (both in the draft and free agency), by managing your player salaries better than other teams do and by employing the best coaches. None of those things require tanking. None.

For a new twist on wings - bread the wings and go with a spicy asian style sauce. Been eating them that way lately- wicked good.

Malik Hooker had two surgeries = no combine, 4-6 months
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you draft a RT, chances are he is not starting year 1. Free agency is the place to look for RT so he can start and be a very good player in year 1. I'm not saying "not" to draft one - just saying we will likely still have a RT problem this coming season if the Bills don't somehow address it in free agency. So drafting is not an immediate fix. Drafting a receiver in round 1 could be an immediate fix at a position that could translate into much better offensive production through the air. -
http://youtu.be/-WCFUGCOLLU Yeah, well it helps if you are smart enough to be able to interpret them properly.

Well, this is setting up nicely for a very Billsy type draft. Whaley has to be in love with the idea of drafting this guy now! He loves broken football players. -
Report: Browns will try to trade for Jimmy Garoppolo
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are right. The Patriots have a better understanding of this QB's talent level than anybody else in the NFL. If they are trading him at this point, then the guy isn't close to being good enough. At this point in time, Jimmy's trade value is about as high as it is probably ever going to be. If the Patriots don't think he is good enough to build a team around, then it makes total sense that they would try to trade him right now. And Cleveland is just dumb enough to actually want to do it. -
Yes. I was reaching for that silver lining. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Just easier to deal with during the offseason rather than having to patch holes early in the season. As Whaley seems to be better at identifying free agent talent than he is at identifying draft talent, I am interested to see who they bring in here and what positions they address in free agency. That will probably have a bigger impact on next year than whoever they draft besides their number 1 pick.

Marquise Goodwin: Stay or Go?
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am thinking that the situation with receivers this year and the fact that Sammy is still injured is going to push the Bills to spend that first draft spot on the best receiver in the draft assuming one of the two best guys is still there. -
I don't know where you are getting your stats from but...... Completion percentage - ranked 19 YDS/A 21 QBR 9 And he accomplished that without having Sammy Watkins half the year. Got my stats from ESPN here and here. The problems at receiver this year are why (I think) his stats were lower than 2015 where he ranked.... Completion percentage 17 Yds/A 5 QBR 7 Those stats also came from ESPN here and here. I'd say it is pretty obvious that Tyrod is actually an average to above average quarterback based on his stats. Certainly not the bottom feeder that some here try to paint him as being.

That contract wasn't and isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I say that because the Bills have an option to walk away if they so choose. Most other teams would have just signed the guy to a longer term contract. And then Tyrod would automatically be assumed to be the starting quarterback going into next year. Instead the Bills left themselves with an "out" so that "if" Tyrod turned out to be a bad qb they could move on from him rather than be stuck with the guy for years to come. That is why it was a "prove it" contract where they could evaluate him after a while and then see if they wanted to be married to him for another 3 years or more. The part of this situation that effed things up was the fact that the Bills had Greg Roman as an offensive coordinator. As such, the Bills passed the ball less than any other team. That resulted in what "appeared" to be a weak passing attack. And some people blame that lack of passing production entirely on the QB. When in reality what happened was they saw the Bills lose a close game. Then they looked at the stats and saw total passing yards was low. So they went looking for "why" it was low. And they saw Tyrod miss an open receiver and not throw him the ball. So they told themselves that Tyrod was the reason for the low passing yards. When in fact, Tyrod was playing about average ball as a passer (some games above average and some below) if you account for his number of pass attempts. The only reason there is any question about Tyrod right now is because of Greg Roman's style of offense. If Tyrod had been given the opportunity to throw the ball more often in an offense that was designed to throw the ball more, then even this low percentage of people who want to cut him would be saying we should keep him. Well except for the true haters of which there is a handful of people here.

I'm pretty sure that is illegal..

Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach

Frazier's best impression of Rex Ryan -
He's basically an insurance policy for Cordy Glenn anyway. It is unlikely that he would be getting that much playing time next year unless Cordy got hurt or unless they moved Cordy to right tackle which I doubt they were going to do anyway. Need to address right tackle in the draft. And I don't think this is a great year for the number of offensive linemen in the draft. Color me worried about how the Bills address that spot. Free agency perhaps.

When you asked the original question I got the sense that you might be one of those guys on this forum that think total passing yards is a good measurement of quarterback. Maybe you think that way and maybe you don't. I don't know if you do and I am not accusing you of it. Just explaining myself. I have had long discussions/arguments with other people here trying to explain why total passing yards aren't useful much at all really as a measuring stick for QB's. And the reason is because they don't account for number of pass attempts. You are much better off using yards per attempt as you used later on. Most of the guys here who want Tyrod gone badly constantly hammer the 28th ranked or 30th ranked passing attack as a knock against Tyrod - and doing so simply proves they are truly stupid. I say that because if you look at the stats for teams in the NFL, you will see that when it comes to total passing yards, the teams at the very bottom of the list threw the ball the least number of times and the teams at the very top of the list threw the ball more times than anyone. And the Bills were so heavily skewed to run the ball that it makes total passing yards ridiculously low. There is no perfect stat for quarterbacks, but total passing yards is the worst unless you are comparing one qb against another qb who threw the same number of passes approximately. The number of pass attempts by team is radically different between the top and bottom of the list. Baltimore threw the ball 679 times compared to the Bills 474 times. Gee. No wonder the Ravens had 1,000 more yards than the Bills. They threw 205 more passes. Yet the Ravens had worse Yards per attempt. So you could make the point that the Bills passing attack was better than the Ravens, considerably better actually, on a per play basis. Yet the Ravens ranked number 12 total passing yards while the Bills ranked near the bottom in total passing yards. That is why using total passing yards for a QB is not just a bad idea, it is just wrong. It is meaningless when your offense throws the ball less (by design) than any other offense in the NFL. Of course you are going to rank at or near the bottom. Maybe you already knew this. I don't know. But in regards the QB (who threw the ball the least number of times in the league) total passing yards is completely irrelevant as a measurement. If you don't believe me, go look up the stats. Saints led the league in passing yards and they were number 2 in total attempts. Bills threw the ball the least number of times but were ranked 30th.

Ask a better question and you'll get a better answer. I was trying to point out how silly your hypothetical was. The truth is you don't know what next year is going to be like. Your guess is no better or worse than mine. I think the Bills are close. Given Tyrod's skill level, cap level and other options at quarterback I do think it is in the Bills' team best interest to pick up the option so that he is here for the next few years. I am not 100% sure about how this coaching staff intends to use Tyrod (if they do intend to use him) so I can't say for sure about how good of a fit he would be. Maybe I would change my mind if I knew that. Will I be happy with the team if the Bills only win 6 games next year? No. Will I be happy with the QB? Can't say based on what you have given me. I could be very unhappy with the team and still be mostly happy with my QB - sort of like this year.
-
The real questions you should ask are: Given Tyrod's skill level, cap level and style of play and other options at quarterback, is it in the Bills' team best interest to pick up the option so that he is here for the next few years. If the answer to that is yes, then you pick up the option. If the answer to that is no because of skill level or style of play or other options available at quarterback then you move on. If the answer to that is no because of cap money then you ask: Is it possible to renegotiate with him somehow to get him at a price that is acceptable? If the answer to that is no then you move on.

Why is he only starting 15 games? Does he get injured? If he played the extra game would it have been a win like this year? Your stats are a bit messed up. If he throws 7.7 yards per attempt and gets 3100 yards then that means they only threw the ball 402 times which is even less than they threw it this year? Did we get Roman back? By the way 7.7 Yards per attempt would have him ranked 8th in the league and ahead of all of the following guys - Stafford, Mariotta, Winston, Flacco, Roethlisberger, Rivers and Rogers. So that is pretty darn good. What about the receivers and the line? Who are his receivers and are they healthy all year or is Sammy out for 1/2 a season again? What about the o-line? Where do they rank in pass protection in your crystal ball? What kind of offensive scheme are they running? See, all those things matter. And if you are still going to use wins as a measurement, then you have to consider what kind of defense the bills have next year, their special teams and the strength of their opponents. Why are you ignoring such things? Don't they also affect the outcome of games in terms of wins and losses?
