No he didn't. Alf linked it in another thread. That rumor has been debunked.

Okay after much searching on the internet I have found the definitive data. Here it is. You are correct. Well except for the option automatically kicking in. Buffalo must exercise the option before March 9th at 4PM not March 11 as a couple of articles stated. Therefore, they cannot trade him without picking up option which means he isn't going to be traded because of the massive and unavoidable dead cap hit totaling about $53 million. If the Bills were going to trade Tyrod, they would have had to do it prior to November 1 2016 - because that was before the trade deadline and they could have avoided picking up the option still. Nice job Alfy

I thought it was customary to release a guy once you have decided to move on. Benefits the player.
-
I see that the Bills have till March 11 on the option. So they have a two day window in which they could trade him before the option would kick in.
-
So they can't trade him between Nov 1 2016 (trade deadline) and March 9th 2017 4PM anyway? If so, they would have to pick up the option in order to be able to trade him which would make him untradable because of dead cap hit. Yes? No? Ah. Nevermind. I see the Bills have till March 11th on option. So they could trade him away March 9th or 10th before picking up option.

Do you think teams are worried about Tyrod running with the football? Correct answer: Of course they worry about it and game plan for it. And that fact alone forces coordinators to alter their defenses in order to stop 2 possible runners on every running play instead of just focusing on the back. With Tyrod back there the defense has to determine not just if it is a run or pass or play action, but also, if it is a run, who is going to run with the ball and if it is a pass - is the QB really going to pass or is he going to take off running with the ball. The defenders can't react as quickly as they could if there was a predictable statue QB and single running back. It is quite easy to see how that helps the running game. It is that strength that causes players to vote for Tyrod for the Probowl. Players know it is a lot harder to defend that. You don't think that helps the running game?

Could very well be. I didn't know the option was tradable. Can't see Dallas paying a guy that much money as a backup for the next few years though. At least not when they can ditch Romo after 2017 for a reasonably low cap hit. If they keep Romo - they are solid at QB for another year even if the starter gets hurt or even if Dak has a horrible sophomore slump.
-
I assume you are kidding. Some people probably believe that trading him without picking up the option first is realistic. In order to trade the guy you would have to pick up his option. Because, otherwise he is going to be a free agent. What team would trade for a guy who is about to be a free agent in a month? And once the Bills pick up the option, he instantly becomes untradable for 2-3 years because of dead cap money.

Yes Schmidts Sausage Haus. And yes I did try the cream puffs. Great place. I'd be a regular there if I lived close enough. Probably gained a pound or two from that one meal alone.

It is because we drink more beer per capita... When you have the most drunks per capita, it stands to reason that you will also have the most people asking for a ride home.

I have to admit, it's pretty cool driving down the interstate seeing the big Budweiser cans. Kicks your mood up a notch on your way to wherever....in my case usually Cincinnati. Yolo.. I hit German town last time I was in Columbus.. Went to some well known German joint with a buffet of 6 kinds of sausage and 3 kinds of sauerkraut... Who knew there were different kinds of sauerkraut. It was awesome. Had a small 2 or 3 guy German Polka band playing in the restaurant. Accordion... Good time. Good brew. Good grub. Loved it. Can't remember the name of the place. But I think it was one of the more well known places there.

Na...That's Tourette's syndrome..... Ball sweat.. That's a huge B word. Keep it in the circus. -
If the Bills really wanted to part ways with Tyrod they probably would have done it already. No reason to keep him hanging on. Can't trade a guy who isn't under contract for next year. Coaches must want him. Probably holding out in case something crazy comes available.

Back in the 80's I noticed the same thing about Budweiser in Arizona compared to Budweiser around here. It tasted a lot different. I was like WTF? My brother said it was because they brewed it at a western brewery compared to the stuff we were used to in NY which maybe came from Columbus OH? Not sure? But it was considerably different. By the way...That Skyline Chili is in the regular chili/tuna fish aisle at Wegmans. I asked the wife. She said that is where you will find it. Should be found in any Wegmans. Get some 5 way this Sunday! Enjoy brother!

Robert Woods is !@#$ing crazy! -
I think you have your cap numbers wrong dude. Dead cap hit is the same whether he is traded or cut. If Romo stays on the team in 2017 he costs $24.7 million against the cap for year 2017. If he is traded or cut he will cost - $19.6 million against the cap for year 2017. Info found here. You get the same info here too.
-
It is going to cost Dallas $20 million to trade Romo or an extra $5 to keep him as a backup QB (in terms of cap money). I think he is going to stay in Dallas as a backup. They won't want to trust Kellen Moore as their backup.
-
Bills would have to remove all the matts from training camp area too.
-
Yep. He would get killed on 3rd and 6 or more behind this o-line. And he could very possibly suffer his final career ending injury. And then we would get to see Cardale play. Yay...... How many years would the Bills reasonably expect to get out of him anyway?
-
The Bills beat every single one of those teams the last time they played them - easily. How come the Bills are better than all of them then? How come your strategy of drafting higher hasn't made at least one of those teams better than the Bills? Face it. Your strategy is only good for one thing - building a worse football team. When it comes down to it, draft position is mostly irrelevant. The things that really matter are your ability to evaluate talent, your ability to manage your salaries due to salary cap and your coaching.
-
If drafting high was the difference maker you think it is, then teams like Jacksonville, Rams and Cleveland would be Superbowl contenders by now. Your strategy sucks. It is proven not to work again and again and again year after year.

Malik Hooker had two surgeries = no combine, 4-6 months

You are very likely to be wrong about that. And it certainly depends on who is there at 10. -
Dude, you can get Skyline locally. We always have it in the cupboard. Wife gets it either at Tops or Wegmans - one of them sells it one doesn't. I think it is Wegmans that carries it. It is heaven over the top of spaghetti. - With onions and cheese yes please. We stop and eat at a Skyline every time we are in southern Ohio. I would think those restaurants would do well here in WNY.

A healthy Sammy Watkins, Ragland, Lawson and having Dareus all year probably leads to playoffs this past season and Rex would still be coaching. Tyrod would already be locked in as QB for next few years. And our main concern would be how to beat the Patriots next year and make it back to the bowl. Seasons usually take unexpected turns somewhere.

Tanking still doesn't help you identify talent better, coach better or manage your salary cap better than the other teams.
