Uh.....Jimmy Clausen started 10 games in 2010 when he was drafted. I remember it well because there was talk of the Bills taking him and Mel was talking him up big time and I was bummed at the time the Bills didn't pick him. Then I watched the suckfest that was the Panthers 2-14 season and I was relieved we didn't take him. Also, St.Pierre was called up OFF THE STREET to start ONE!!! game . Marijuana, it's not just for breakfast anymore🤔😵 If Defense is what gets teams there then why didn't we go with Schwartz's D. Also, the Panther's D kept giving away lead after lead in the SB season. Leads that Cam and the O kept giving them. Not sure why the hatred but Cam is better that any QB the Bills have had since Bledsoe first year with us.

Clauses and St. Pierre were BOTH starters for the Panthers. St. Pierre is the perennial punchline to many jokes here on local sports talk radio. Also, " Boy, I'm glad we have TT and not Cam!!! Love me some 7-9 !!!"

You said something about " not the GOAT" . He was the Bills GOAT. I do agree that the coaching at the time left something to be desired. However, Jim's learning curve was about maturity. You don't go in first ballot HOF and not have great effort. George, Cutler, these are examples of skill sets w/o effort.

When you have a gift it's often harder to get it across to others. When you have to effort it to be good enough you often have worked on all the ins and outs and understand if from a different perspective than the gifted ones.

What Bills QB was better than Kelly?

What the heck has Bills fandom come to when " Kelly wasnt really that good."?The coaches not reigning him in in the first SB is why we lost. We got out played in the next two decisively!!! And Dallas was the better team in the final one. I assume you Kelly haters are TT jock sniffers. Guess what? Kelly couldn't play Defense in any of those Superbowls. He couldn't stop the run in ANY of them. All he could do was put up points. Against Washington he got the tar beaten out of him behind a leaky, injured line. Put the boosey, womanizing, egotistical Kelly on the Marrone / Orton team with that D and Marrone is still our coach and Swartz is still are D coordinator and the other playoff drought is broken!!!! I'm not embarrassed to feel last years was a waste and putting C.Jones in with a month to go would have been prudent. I'm not embarrassed to admit to not liking the Orton pick because it assured us of mediocrity. I'm embarrassed that every year a ridiculous amount of posters on here suggest " statistically we still have a chance" when it's all over but the shouting.

This sort of reminds me of Ryan Mallet who was also a meat heat with a heck of an arm. NE took him in the third but a meat heat is a meathead. Kelly is a meathead and his meatheadedness will keep him from becoming anything special. How many times do we have to see this story repeated before we know the ending?

In 2015 he had a brutal camp. Everyone( fans) wanted him gone but the Panthers had no option after losing K. Benjamin. During that season he came through. The Panthers O featured a lot of deeper routes. My recollection is him catching deep digs where he found holes in zones, flys and deep crossing routes. Yes, he did go after the ball but Cam often throws high so receivers have to. The whole team that year had " IT", until the SB. Last year he did nothing which is how he is thought of here. He couldn't catch a cold. Without checking I bet he caught only half the balls thrown his way, some of that is on Cam but No one here is unhappy or even cares that he is gone. Tolbert is a character guy so I get that signing, not this one though.

Watched him down here also, Philly, then Corey( changed his name to change his luck) then Philly again. Has good hands.... till he doesn't. It's not a question of who he replaces, he doesn't make us better. He is NO Woods. This is not a good pickup.

Couldn't agree more. However, when we are 3-8 there will be threads swearing up and down we still have a chance😳 I don't see a long term plan. I see McD thinking he has the coaching acumen to do it but not sure I'm buying what he's selling.

Watched here with Panthers . A few years ago he was great in short yardage. Has seemed to slow down considerably. Has very good hands for a guy his size. I Don't hate this if we get him cheap. Can blitz pick up

Apparently, those of us who don't like this are dumb for thinking his inability to produce in clutch time is a problem. The D sucked? YES!!! The D is not going to be that much better this year due to it being new; It will take half a season minimum(!!!) for the players to be comfortable, probably more. Also, we have some serious holes on that side of the ball. Head coaches have a learning curve too. R.Rivera took four years to figure it out . MickeyD is not coming in here a finished product. IMO ten is too high to draft whoever is left but unfortunately the QBs get over valued every year. I'd like to trade back and get more pick and get a QB later in the first but don't see them doing this.
