  1. Uh, he already improved tremendously from the first half of the season to the second. I'd say he needs to continue to improve but he's not that far away. Already he is an exciting QB capable of winning with a better supporting cast.
  2. I'd take the bet except he may still have crap teammates on O next year. He's not overly inaccurate. When you take into account the drops and times he's had to throw balls away because his line and receivers stink he's been okay. Also, he's done much better the games since the injury when he decided to run if the line wasn't going to block and the OC started to call routes that created that open space. He is not wildly inaccurate. Every game QBs miss some WRs and he's shown improvement.
  3. I understand - my opinion of the oline is just way worse than some other people I think. In all those examples there was a much offensive line than ours.
  4. I would never predict that because they can't fix the offense in one offseason. Next year I'd go with 7-9.
  5. I didn't say he wouldn't be an upgrade but we wouldn't be going to the playoffs either. The only reason we've had any offense the past few weeks in because of Allen. I'm not pretending he's perfect nor did I say that. He's still a rookie of course but he's been much better than I expected.
  6. That was in response to a post pointing out how awful Allen's supporting cast is and has everything to do with his play. Name a QB that could look good in this offense with players dropping TDs, no blocking, crap TEs - not even Brees would look like an NFL QB with these losers. Allen is not the problem right now.
  7. The problem is that the Bills have regressed so far this is a forever rebuild. Tell me how you fix this offense in one year? It's not gonna happen. Plus you have to start replacing players like Kyle Williams and Alexander. Beane has been wasting draft picks and creating too many holes to fill. No confidence in these guys. We've been rebuilding for two decades now.
  8. Allen was not bad. Add those two TD drops and everyone would say he had a great day and the Bills probably win let along stupid Croom fumbling. I don't know how everyone can't see Allen is leading the worst offense in football. I feel sorry for the kid. How many players on the Bills offense would start on most all other teams in the NFL?
  9. It is so hard to be optimistic at all about the Bills looking ahead three years. You can't let your team get so piss poor at so many positions. My problem with the team is that there is no way they can make enough needed improvements in one or two years. They have some okay aging players to replace too like Kyle Williams and Alexander. And their scouting sucks! For example, I don't care how fast Edmunds is - the best MLB are never rangy guys - they are always spark plugs. Plus they drafted him too young - you can tell he's athletic but you couldn't tell if his football IQ was high enough. He consistently makes poor decisions. He'll have to move outside. Not totally opposed to the pick but you NEVER trade up for anything but a sure thing and he was far from it. We needed so many players at so many spots and we are wasting picks to move up? If we are 12-4, 11-5 and need someone to get over the hump maybe but we are so far away from good it's not funny. Problem is I have no confidence in the GM or coach so far. They have sucked so far at building a team and have gone backwards so fast how are they possibly gonna address all the crap areas - from WR, OL, TE, ST, LB - in one offseason? I try so hard to be hopeful but it is tough finding any hope when every team in our division has a lot less holes to fill. How are we to leap frog them? I do like Allen though and he's a very entertaining player to watch. He is just playing with the worst tools in the league so I feel sorry for him.
  10. History shows that trading first round picks for players like this and signing them to huge contracts doesn't usually work out and I don't think it will go well for the Bears. Way too much salary for a LB and you lose your cheap labor (first round picks). Because you can't afford to pay top dollar at many positions in today's NFL I think drafting well is more important than ever so you build with affordable quality players and keep a few difference makers. If I was GM I would trade down every draft to accumulate as many 1-5 round picks as possible to build a team with good depth and then find a franchise QB.
  11. Peterman is the kind of players Bills fans should be behind 100%. If it doesn't work out there is Allen but Peterman could be a Rich Gannon type QB with the right OC and you can win with players like that. He's smart and he's still learning his limitations. If you throw sideline routes late at all any QB can get picked off. McCarron threw a pick six. I don't like those routes in general because there's little YAC anyway. I prefer screens and wheel routes where the receiver is moving upfield when they get the ball and they are generally safer throws. Anyway, Buffalo is a blue collar city who should be all about the underdog. I'm impressed Peterman didn't let one half game and one snow game destroy his confidence. He's been doing all you can ask of him and trying to make the most of his talent. That's a player I hope surprises everyone for a very long time. He's a starter now until he proves he is a backup. It's in our best interest if that isn't any time soon. I wish "fans" would get off his back.
  12. Yes my expectations are lower because he was supposed to provide some experience and could have given us another option if Peterman chokes in live action. Peterman has looked good this preseason but regular season is different. McCarron did not look good but he was also getting used to a new situation and has played well for Cincy so I think we could have one some games with him. Too bad they were hell bent to get rid of Tyrod because I think that would have been a better situation with him playing until Allen was ready. We all hope Allen is the answer but it doesn't appear he is quite ready so winning this year seems to rest on Peterman. I'd be very surprised if Allen played before Peterman gets hurt or we have 4 losses early.
  13. This is going to be an interesting season. I'm trying to think of an Oline that looks worse than the Bills but I can't think of one. Yet Daboll might have the magic to make them look better than they are like Gailey did. I suspect they are better at run blocking than pass blocking because individual matches can be exploited and obvious passing downs could be really bad. Plus the WR talent won't help them out. May need to throw to the RBs and TEs a ton. It will be very interesting to see what happens!
  14. Peterpan starts because that's the only logical thing to do. If they start Allen and it's not working and the team needs a spark I don't think Peter provides that. But if the O struggles with Pete than Allen as plan B makes a lot more sense as he can learn the rest of his rookie season like Manning and I believe Luck did. I hope Peterman does well though and shows what perseverance can do. Has a terrible first game and the next chance he gets to play it's the worst blizzard game ever in Buffalo. His stats can only improve. Let's just hope the O-line isn't as bad as we think because right now I can't think of a worse O-line in the NFL.
