Actually had a discussion today with some old friends who don't like the new law, which is their opinion, but then said "no one is pushing the idea that men can get pregnant". When I asked her to simply Google it she told me that some extremist might push it but no one normal. I asked again and she turned the conversation without looking it up. Schools have a ton of federal aid tied to graduating students, especially at risk kids, therefore to have three schools where this happened tells me with 99.9% certainty that these kids have been warned all year what they had to do in order to graduate and they decided to goof around until it was too late. Also for the online course this student has to finish, it is most likely a credit restoration course, which means he failed the class and was given a low level replacement to simply get enough credits to graduate, not a major accomplishment.

I teach at a public school, so why is it ok to ignore some federal holidays? Also I want to teach summer school, it is not required as a standard for employment, while the other two are mandated days.
