Week 6: BILLS v Bengals - First Half Thread
DC Greg replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep well, when EJ is QB... gunna be tough. Hogan was open too. Just had to put air under the ball and run under it. No throwing motion from Manuel. He always flicks it like he's throwing a dart. Bad mechanics. -

Why don't you just air that out? Hogan had a step. Real NFL secondaries look a little different than they do in preseason/practice, don't they? -

Jesus Brooks what the hell is the matter with you. Special teams super star right here. Get into the starting lineup then maybe you can talk smack. -

Scouting the Bengals (Last Week's Game)
DC Greg replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Their D line is exceptional. Huge concern if we have enough time to get the ball out. I think they can bring consistent pressure with just rushing 4, especially against our O-line. I hope kromer had some words of wisdom in his return. -
Week 6 predictions: Bengals at Bills
DC Greg replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Picked the Bills every other week. Let's change it up. Bengals 24 - Bills 17 This is going to be a tough one. Hope my reverse prediction is wrong. -
Shady Listed as Proable for Sunday vs. Cincinnati

No one knows, but hamstrings are weird. They can feel fine all week, then in a game one sharp cut or strong push off it aggravates it. Sometimes it's like you need to let it get healthy till it feels 100%, then put another week or two on top to be sure. But if he says he's ready to go, then I'm excited to see him in there. Will just be incredibly disappointing if it flares up. -
Watkins: "I need 10 targets... You're making me look bad."
DC Greg replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RIGHT? The truth hurts sometimes. I have mixed feelings about him putting this out there like this, but he is ultimately right. We need to do more to get him going in the offense. He needs to get healthy and play though, too. -
Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor
DC Greg replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It will take a monumental effort for EJ to overcome TT as the starter IMO. I think he has to go at least 2-1, and he has to be a big part of the reason we win those two while subsequently not being the reason at all that we lose that one. If he does all that, it's worth a consideration. But I think Rex and co. are going to be very inclined to go back to Tyrod. EJ will have to be near perfect. -
Week 6: Bengals' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
DC Greg replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean like how he played through every game last year with injured ribs and was one of the best offensive rookies in the league? Yeah, I'm sick of that. -
Chardandrick West time... luckily I have the second waiver position in my league. Think I'll get him. Hopefully the Chiefs stick with their philosophy and he does JC things.
-
His feet move forward when he runs, rather than in place, up and down, so I think that might be better. Just spitballing. I'm gunna go ahead and lean towards rather seeing Felton run it with a head of a steam over boobie cement shoes dixon. I think, as a professional football player, he could potentially handle being 4 yards behind the LOS instead of 2.

Tyson? Really? Drama queens on TBD get a grip. Tyson is a convicted rapist and has threatened to eat people's children, bitten a man's ear off... want to add to the list?
-
Alright, well mark that down as one tackle he missed. But if you're going to keep a tally, be fair and keep a full one. It was a bad play, but he rarely misses tackles. He is one of the surest tacklers on the team. And it was still an impressive play to get over there. Yes, he needs to finish, as you've noted.

They definitely played well in the first half, bearing in mind that it was the Tennessee Titans. It seemed to me like it really kicked into another gear though after Tyrod scored. It was a noticeable switch IMO. The corners and secondary, in general, were unbelievably good and couldn't have played better for the entire game. Again, Titans receivers, but they were still flawless.

Well said. It is disgusting that we have to expect make up calls to happen, and we accept that they are a legitimate part of the game. They are a disgrace to the game's integrity, and the NFL referees, as a whole, should be embarrassed.
-
The offense gets better in the second half after Roman takes the handcuffs off. That's encouraging. The defense FINALLY started playing elite in the second half of this game, getting after it, hustling to the ball, and being aggressive. That's encouraging. There is a lot that needs to be cleaned up, and Roman needs to not game plan this offense to death, but there's plenty to be excited about.

This. If you didn't see it, don't call it. No excuses for this ref. There have to be consequences for things like this. If I go into my job tomorrow and completely F up, there are consequences. Why is there no measure of accountability for NFL officials to do their jobs? Missing a call is one thing. Calling bogus penalties that have a heavy odor of trying to directly impact the game is another. There should be consequences. I don't think this is that much of a stretch. There have been calls that have been more impactful because they have happened in bigger situations, but this is about as bad as it gets in terms of just flagging someone for no reason. Throwing an "unnecessary roughness" on a perfectly legal tackle, IMO, is the worst call that can be made. It's a chicken call and a disgrace to the men who are out there actually playing the game.
-
Awful call for so many reasons. It wasn't a penalty. No grounds for a call. At all. It was a tackle. Critical situation. You have to make a team earn it. Stop giving teams easy first downs on third and long. It felt like a makeup call because they didn't throw the flag for Bradham's tackle, but they did throw the flag for the horsecall on Tyrod, neither of which were penalties. Somehow, it seems like NFL refs feel that make up calls are OK. Here's the hit again: https://vine.co/v/e097JhW6mUW If players are fined for penalties after games, like Hughes was this week, this referees should be fined for non penalties, as well. Their pay needs to be docked for things like this. It's out of control.

If it's between him and Dixon, confused as to why we aren't giving him more carries. Dixon is awful as a RB.

Go away.

Glad to see that everyone seems to be seeing the same things. Should have been blitzing more all day. Started to at the end. Mariota looked every bit of the rookie he is today, expecially with the pressure in his face. Should have been dialing it up. I think Roman is game planning himself to death and failing to adjust quickly enough. I feel like he has the whole first half scripted and doesn't want to deviate regardless of what happens. In the second half, he let Tyrod be Tyrod. Also, his play calls on our last offensive possession before the kneel down were ugly. On second down, that was the perfect opportunity to throw for the first. Clock was running down to 2 min warning anyways, so inc pass did not matter. Instead, we ran it with cement shoes Dixon for nothing, then tried to throw on third down when they knew it was coming. Luckily, the defense bailed out Roman after that and today in general. The Titans are not a good team. Our offense needs to get better.
