  1. I doubt its the right call. If a ballcarrier fumbles the ball forward without being touched, is that now an illegal forward pass? Terrible call, IMO. One of the very worst I've ever seen.
  2. They did review it, but none of the camera angles were definitive. The ref was standing almost right in front of it when it happened, so I can only guess that yes, he was in bounds.
  3. You can add a #2 WR and a starting TE to the list as well.
  4. Its also been four games since the Bills shuffled their OL. Coincidence? Nope. They're finally getting some quality OL play and its allowing them to take advantage of their skill position talent.
  5. Two straight game-winning drives. Not bad at all. And Roscoe Parrish certainly earned his paycheck today.
  6. Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bills WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  7. Will be a 41 yard FG attempt.
  8. Yes, it is being reviewed. Ball around the Jax 25.
  9. Fletcher.
  10. How about the entire DL?
  11. Consider the source...
  12. Once again, the Bills OL proves it is the weakest aspect of the offense. And people wonder why they call so many passes on third and short.
  13. Give it a month or two. Romo is a new QB that most teams have very little information on. If he plays well once defenses have had time to adjust to him, he might just be a good QB. He could also end up looking just as bad, if not worse than Bledsoe.
  14. The Bills are getting back exactly what they've put into the OL, which is next to nothing. You can't sign other teams rejects and retreads and expect to be any good. The Bills have repeatedly proven this to be true over the years, consistently fielding some of the worst OLs in the league since the mid 1990s. To make the point all too clear, all one has to do is take a quick look at the Bills' draft history since 1990. They've drafted only 7 OL on the first day of the draft in the last 16 years. Lets see, that's 7 picks for 5 starting positions in almost two decades. That's a pathetic effort, especially in light of the fact that the Bills OL was falling apart as early as 1994. The only free agents of any consequence that they've bothered with have been Chris Villarial and Joe Panos. Villarial has been a serviceable starter when he's actually healthy. Panos was a flop. By contrast, the Bills have drafted 13 DBs in the first three rounds in the same time period. That's enough to have turned the entire starting defensive backfield over 3 times, compared to just once on the OL. Of course, I must also mention that 7 of those 13 picks were taken in the first round. Poor effort equals poor results. The Bills are getting exactly what they've paid for over the years. They've tried to build an OL on the cheap and it hasn't worked and probably never will.
  15. I know. Then again, I never mentioned Leinart, so apparently he has some fixation about that player.
  16. Its good to know you're such a Leinart fan. I hear there is still some room on the Cardinals' bandwagon, so feel free to join them.
  17. The only real good news I can find in any of this is that the Bills management and coaching staff are openly admitting that this OL sucks. Granted, they figured that out about 6 months too late and after basically ignoring the fans calling for major OL help the past offseason, but its a start. Maybe they'll use a 4th and a 6th this year instead of a 5th and 7th? Otherwise, starting a 7th round rookie RT looks like a recipe for disaster. That's not to say that Pennington might not suprise us and play reasonably well later in the year, but I think we all know he's probably going to have some major struggles for a while.
  18. If the OL was playing well, why mess with it? The truth is, they weren't playing well and the coaching staff was forced to make a change. It certainly wasn't a move to get younger players involved (Gandy is only 27, Reyes 28).
  19. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=4304 Jauron's statements in this article make it VERY clear that there will be no QB change during the bye, and its a strong enough statement that I don't think it'll happen at any point this year.
  20. Actually, he played quite a bit. Probably a third of the defensive snaps.
  21. Why single out one player to bench when you acknowledge he's not the only problem? Sounds like you want a scapegoat to me.
  22. How much longer? Some have been doing it since the minute he was drafted.
  23. I disagree. The Bills have very rarely attempted to sign quality FA OL or draft them using 2nd-4th round draft picks. They did sign Chris Villarial, who has been a fairly solid starter when healthy (which hasn't been that often). Otherwise, they've signed castoffs at cut-rate prices and the results have been predictably bad. On draft day, the Bills have drafted a grand total of three (Louichey, Hicks, Jennings) 2nd or 3rd round OL since Glenn Parker was selected in 1990! It appears they've selected all of two 4th round OL. That's hardly making an effort and far from enough evidence to say his idea hasn't worked.
  24. I'd select Calvin Johnson without much hesitation. The problem with the OL isn't so much that the Bills haven't invested first round picks up front trying to find a Pro Bowl LT. Instead, its that they haven't bothered investing a few 2nd-4th round picks over the years in order to bring some good, but maybe not great talent at the other OL positions. I still believe the interior of the OL is our real weakness offensively and it all stems from the fact that they struggle to run block. Yes, I said run block. That's why McGahee struggles to average 4 yards per carry. Its tough to run when your guards and center are being knocked three yards into the backfield every other play. Losman, in turn, struggles because without a reliable running game, he's constantly facing 2nd/3rd and long situations. That forces more 5 and 7 step drops and longer developing plays, which again, puts the weak OL right back at center stage. So yeah, adding a LT would help a little, but until the Bills decide to bring in some quality players between the OT positions, its probably still going to be a mediocre OL.
  25. Maybe its because he's better than he's given credit for and the Bills still hold out some hope of re-signing him?
