  1. I would... but I forgot to read the "Washing Instructions" during the week. So now its shrunk beyond wearabilty.
  2. I have several old jerseys; however, none with a current roster name. I have several old sweatshirts and assorted t-shirts. I've historically wore my t-shirt with the 51-3 Buffalo News Headline commemorating the playoff win as an undershirt. I do have a new sweatshirt that I got last year for Christmas. I've yet to wear it, hoping for a new start this year. I'm thinking this could be a new year and therefore the new start. But, if I wear my new Sweatshirt and we lose horribly, then I may never be able to put it on again - for fear of the jinx. I'm also thinking of retiring the 51-3 t-shirt (its getting rather holish). I'm also considering a new basball cap. So, if I order that, I could order a new jersey as well. But who? would be my primary concern. Advice on how not to jinx the team with my Bills gear is greatly appreciated.
  3. True. But can't we also look at it as Clements has a good agent that negotiated him the best deal. And if he plays deservingly this season, his agent will likewise negotiate a similarly great long-term deal for Clements with the Bills. However, perhaps he'll paly so-so, but still demand such a great deal and we'll let him walk. I certainly think either could happen. But, most of what happens should be a function of how NC plays this season, how the young guys play, and finally the deal his agent demands. But, at this point, I think there's just no way to tell. Saying he'll be gone is speculation, just as saying he'll be here is speculation.
  4. I think your theory as laid out here is highly questionable, primarily due to the fact that it paints Marv as making decisions based on an oversized ego. I don't see that in Marv at all. I don't think he's ever had a me first attitude. Rather I'd have to agree more with Dibs' theory. Marv is a standup guy. Why just out and out fire the entire coaching staff? Why not allow them to save some face and resign? Its a much more "high character" thing to do and much more likely to endear potential future coaches to come onto a team like the Bills. Marv doesn't have to fire all the coaches and let everyone know he cleared house; he's content in his own abilities to let everyone think he wanted MM, but MM wanted out.
  5. I completely agree with you. However, it just seems like a high price to pay (a roster sport on a so-so team) for a little continuity on special teams. My only real rationale is that you just can't cut everyone in the first year.
  6. Let's face it.... there's no logical reason to keep Coy Wire. He's pretty lousy as a safety. And although we can argue he's valuable to the special teams, he's certainly not the second coming of Tasker or even Pike. Hence, there's no real reason that he has remained on this roster for so long. Although, I do agree with a different post on this topic... he must have something going for him that we as fans don't see. Because this is now the 3rd coaching regime that has kept him on the roster. For the life of me though, I can't see it.
  7. Although there's not been hard evidence saying NC will sign long-term; there's also no real indication that NC will be gone either. For that matter, there's no indication that McGahee is gone as well. However, everyone just assumes that both of these guys are gone next year; to the point where we should cut them both now. So, why can't we entertain the thought that NC will be here next year? At this point, its just as likely as him being gone. Which, in essence, means we don't really know where he'll be.
  8. An unproven rookie that will make mistakes or a vet that's proven to continually make mistakes? I'll take a street walk-on over Coy Burnt Wire.
  9. Simply astounding that Wire can keep making this team.
  10. I can't imagine a bigger disgrace than the way they treated Thurman. This team deserves the cursed years its had since his treatment in his final days.
  11. Why stop there? Why not trade all our quality starters (of course they'll all want to leave eventually anyway)? Then we could have 4 or 5 top 10 picks. And then after 2 or 3 seasons when those top 10 picks started to play well and look good, we could trade them. I think we could eventually parlay one Willis into landing all top 10 picks. Of course, we'll suck for years, but what's more important having a great draft day, or having a great season? Give me draft day promise over lost Superbowl reality any day. Please.
  12. Why have any of your star players practice our show up to camp? I mean once you've played a year ot two, its obvious you've learned all you need to know and never need to practice again. I think TO should be allowed to just show up 10 minutes before a game, suit up and he'll be good to go. In fact, he's so good he can probably take off after the first half. I mean, why should he have to play a whole game? If Drew just throws him the ball enough he'll personally win every game. Bottomline. TO is a cancer, and I'll be surprised if Dallas makes the playoffs with such a major disruption in their team.
  13. NFL Network. How has Moulds looked this preseason? I haven't heard much.
  14. I think that's what being a fan is all about... to hope for wins when rational thought dictates a loss. Do I expect us to beat NE? no. Do I hope we'll kick their butt ?! Absolutely. And why will I watch the game.... to see if what I hope so much for, could somehow come true.
  15. Same here. Peyton is just a great guy and a great player. And Barry was one of the few players that would make me want to watch a horrible team, just to see what he would do.
  16. I voted. we're 2% ahead and I still say no chance they show the game. Someone, please update this post tomorrow. I won't be able to watch, but I'd like to check back here and see if they showed the game.
  17. I'd fall into the camp that says this is a great post. It gives us all some numbers to think about. Are they good, bad, or meaningless? That's up for discussion. Imagine that. Personally, I think its interesting that although it appears our preseason has been horrid, the individual stats would seem to suggest that we're not as bad as the score of the Bengals game or the 0-2 record would indicate. I find it somewhat encouraging, for example, that JP ranks as highly as his stats indicate. Does it mean he'll be great this season? No. But, I would argue that it does indicate progress on his part.
  18. I kinda like the fact that we haven't whored out every aspect of the Bills yet.
  19. Since birth. Being a Bills fan is not a choice..its a birthright in my family.
  20. By all accounts Marv and the Bills have been generous with the FA contracts (some say too generous); they've also been fair with all the draft picks. Why would they suddenly decide to go cheap and screw their top pick? It doesn't make sense to me. For that reason, I'd have to say the hold out is more the blame of the agent/Whitner than the Bills.
  21. Exactly. It's not so much about money as it is about greed in my opinion. If the contracts were in the $100,000's range, I could completely see the argument. But these are rookies getting 20-30-40 million dollar contracts. I mean the league minimum is what.. several hundred thousand a year. I know myself and just about anyone can live quite well off that.
  22. I can completely agree, players need to get all they can. However, I guess the question is how far the 2 sides are from one another. Do you really think the Saints aren't offerring fair money to Bush. So, he's leveraging and hiding behind his agent to attempt to squeeze a few million more out of an organization when he hasn't done a single thing to earn it yet. My initial point was I'd much rather havea player with Simpson's mentality of saying hey good enough lets get to playing football. As opposed to somone who says if I hold the organization hostage I can get another million on top of the millions I'm already getting. And we can all say what we want about making as much as they can and short careers and all. But, to even suggest that making upwards of 5 million in one year could not be properly invested and provide someone a decent living for their life is ludicris.
  23. Say what you want. But I'd rather cheer for guys like Ko than Reggie Bush. As good as he MAY be, his attitude of late blows. Same goes for players like TO and Michael Irving. NEver would I want guys like that on the Bills.
  24. There's no way you cut Vincent this year. I'd be pretty well shocked if he doesn't make the team. On a slightly different note.... "I'm glad we went ahead and got the contract out of the way," said Simpson. "I told my agent to go and get it done and I'm ready to come in and help the team any way I can." So, if he can tell his agent to get the deal done, then why can't Reggie Bush? I'll take players like Simpson over Bush any day of the week.
  25. 2 more are now reported as being signed. Patience, grasshopper.
