  1. We havent had an NFL caliber qb in 13 years, and the only NFL caliber receiver we have had since Eric Moulds is Stevie Johnson. It is all yet to be determined, but our wide receiving corps has been massively upgraded.
  2. I love the Manuel pick. I was on the Nassib bandwagon pre-draft, but after watching EJ's highlight film, and reading up on him, I feel like EJ has a higher ceiling and more potential than any of the qbs in the draft. He certainly has the most athletic ability. It will be nice to have a qb that can actually throw a 15 yard out. Not to mention the guy can flick the ball 50 yards down field with little effort and lots of accuracy. We drafted alot of athletically gifted prospects. At this point, its up to the coaching. If Marrone was able to coach Syracuse to play to above and beyond their potential, Im really hoping he can do the same in Buffalo. We landed 3 or 4 guys who had combine best numbers, and the Darick Rogers was a complete steal. I couldnt be happier. We finally have some nfl caliber players on our roster, lets hope our coaches can do their jobs. What a difference from the Levy/Jauron drafts with "character" guys.
  3. Why do you even come here? All you do is whine and post and negative comments about everything the Bills do. Get a grip.
  4. All I know is if this kid can live up to his potential he will be an amazing qb. His highlight film is impressive. He has a rocket arm with a flick of the wrist, and throws a really good deep ball. He looks like he has unlimitted upside. Whereas Barkley and Nassib were both good but and could possibly make an impact sooner, but their ceiling was nowhere near that of Manuels. Guy is a freak.. The Bills traded back and picked up a second rounder in a draft where the value picks are considered in the second. And they got their guy. As far as I see it, its a huge win. I wasnt expecting the Bills to pick EJ, so I didnt watch much on him prior to the draft. But all we can hope for is that he gets some good coaching. If Marrone was able to get Syracuse and Ryan Nassib to play above and beyond expectation, imagine what he could do with a guy like Manuel. Manuel is by far the most talented qb in the draft athletically. Hopefully he can live up to his potential and reach his ceiling. If he can consistantly make the throws he was making on his highlight tape, sky is the limit.
  5. I really hope manual is not the pick but I will support it. The dude was surrounded with tons of talent and FSU struggled in alot of games this year. He definately underperformed. Barkley or Nassib did more with less.
  6. In a draft where all the value is considered too be in the second, or at least those picks provide the most value, why not trade back again for another second round pick? If no qbs are taken wed still have a shot at our guy in the 20's in the first round. Would be a great move.
  7. If no qbs are selected i see them trading down again and getting another second. 9rs, minni, and Falcons all want to trade up. Wed have 3 2nd round picks in a draft where those picks are best value. Id do it.
  8. trade down again into the 20s for another 2nd would be ideal
  9. Exactly. If they take a qb at 8, its because they think he can be a franchise qb. If they dont take a qb at 8, its because they dont feel there is one. But Nix has already come out and said there are 2 or 3. So my guess is, the Bills will be taking a QB at 8. If they miss, so what? We've missed on a lot of players in the draft before. The one player you cant pick up in free agency is a franchise qb. You can address every other position in FA. Only place to get a franchise qb is through the draft. This is mind boggling to me that fans dont even want this team to attempt to get a QB that might work out to be a franchise qb.
  10. If your so unhappy with Nassib why do you waste your time in this thread? You've made your point, now move on.
  11. And what if Nassib winds up being a good quarterback in the NFL?
  12. You need a franchise QB to be successful in todays NFL. You cant get a franchise qb through free agency. You can however, pick up every other position on the field through free agency. The draft is the only place to get your franchise qb. With the exception of P Mannings injury and the whole situation surrounding Andrew Luck and the first pick, teams never let go of a franchise qb. So my point is, the jets can address other needs through FA. But they have to draft a franchise qb. So its very possible the Jets will draft a qb and therefore put the Bills in a position where they cant wait.
  13. Exactly. The Bills have to start drafting for the most important position in all of sports. If we had the number 31 pick and we picked a qb, would that make anyone feel better because its less of a reach? Who really cares what pick it is if the Bills draft a guy they feel can be the franchise qb for the next 10 years. And honestly, we find ourselves drafting around the same spot every year - around number 10. We never are bad enough to get a top 3 pick, so even if an rg3 or luck comes out in future draft, chances are we wont be bad enough to draft the guy. Sitting at 8 and having an opportunity to draft a guy who some argue is the best qb in the draft is a good opportunity even if this is considered a weak qb class. We are going to find ourselves drafting in similar or hopefully higher slots in the coming years because our record will be better. So we cant expect that we are going to be able to draft the next Andrew Luck because I dont see us ever having such a bad record we get #1 or #2 overall pick. If whoever we pick at qb at #8 doesnt work out this year, we will be in the same position next year. Enough wins to be around the 10th pick, and taking a shot on another qb who is not the best qb to come around in years. So we'd better get used to drafting qbs who arent supposed to be the next peyton manning. As a side note, I feel like this is a blessing in disguise. I have high hopes for Nassib and hope the Bills take him. He did a lot with very little and could be a great fit in Buffalo for a number of reasons.
  14. They are mocking a QB at 8 because the Bills havent had a franchise qb in over 13 years and its the biggest need in the organization. Pretty simple. You dont take a chance and pass on a guy to pick up an extra pick if you believe he is going to be your starter for the next 10 years. The Bills might trade down. But if they trade down, its because they believe whoever they want at qb isnt worth the #8 pick, and he isnt a slam dunk.
  15. Thats true. If any of these guys were real draft wizards, and hit on 75% of their picks being successful in the the nfl, an NFL team would pay them alot of money to GM for them.
  16. Dont see any anticipation throws in that real. Lots of throws to wide open receivers. Not saying he cant make the anticipation throws, just not something that was required of him at USC. NFL qbs always amaze me because they make throws to guys who look completely covered but will be open for a fraction of a second on a certain break.
  17. Cant disagree with that. But either way, picking up Dansby would give the Bills more wiggle room in the draft. He will also be a solid performer on the field. Although, I see the Bills going Nassib, WR, TE, then CB. They need to pick up a TE and there are a few good ones in this draft class.
  18. This would be a great move. Lawson, Dansby, possibly Branch from Seattle. This would really allow the Bills to focus in on offense in the draft. QB, WR, TE, WR first 4 picks. Would love if we landed him. 2-3 years 3-4 mill a year. Nothing gauranteed.
  19. Even though my personal preference is Nassib, I cant help but get this weird feeling that the Bills are going to take Barkley. I will be ok with whoever they decide to take at qb, because nobody would know these qbs better than coaches coming from college who have played against them. And if they pass on Nassib, then they have a good reason to since they coached him for 4 years and know what hes about. Im keeping my fingers crossed that Nassib is the guy. But I might have to get over my fear of USC qbs...
  20. The Bills have to take a shot at franchise qb. Even if Luck or RG3 were in this draft, the Bills would not have a shot at getting them. They are always bad, but not bad enough for that #1 pick. This year, there is an opportunity to get the guy that some top analysts say is the #1 and others say #2 qb in the draft. How could any fan be upset with their team for taking a chance on this guy? Nassib is my preference, but I will be happy if they pick any of the top 3 rated qbs at 8. The fact of the matter is that their are as many misses as their are hits in the drafting process. Probably more misses than hits. When it comes to a franchise qb, the target is even smaller and harder to hit. But the Bills need to keep pulling the trigger on promising qbs in the first round of the draft until they finally get a franchise qb, How can any fan be mad at the Bills for taking a chance on this guy? Especially, a qb who is regarded by many respected experts as the #1 qb in the draft. Hes closed out close games, has better stats than qbs drafted at around number 8 in previous years, worked with the current coaching staff for 4 years, played really well considering the amount of talent around him, and the list goes on. One thing ive noticed from watching him play is he does throw an accurate football 25 yards down field. I havent seen him throw many bombs, because I dont think he ever had the time with that horrible O-line. His o-line was awful, and his receivers dropped alot of passes. The best is yet to come for this guy. He made something out of nothin at Syracuse.
  21. There is a good chance its going to happen. So better start packing your bags...
  22. So Nassib wont be able to adjust the speed of the NFL coming from D1 but Mike Hermann will do just fine coming from D3?
  23. Yup. I think if they pass on Nassib at 8, they wont circle back around for him in the later rounds. Marrone and Hackett know him better than anyone. If they dont believe he is worth it at 8, they dont believe he has what it takes to be a franchise guy. I dont see them picking him up in round 2 if he is there in that case.
  24. To sum it up: All the Bills needed this year was a new d coordinator to come in and un-f^ck themselves since wanny was so bad. Instead, we have a hot up and comer from the Rex Ryan bloodline who needs to make a name for himself. So for me, I couldnt have asked for better. Pettine would not have come here if he did not feel he had alot of assets to work with on this D. This is his shot to make a name for himself. For me, thats a vote of confidence that we have talent on that side of the ball. I would love to watch a team who makes some big plays on defense. Watching a good defense is so fun. Its been a while since we had a good defense. Its even more fun watching a great defense. The Bryce Paup years were a lot of fun.
