  1. Is it worth noting that TJ Graham was one of the worst receivers in the NFL last season? Why would Seattle want him?

To run the Percy Harvin part of their offense until he comes back in Nov. The # of proven WRs in the NFL is really thin. I don't think they would offer a ton for him, but I do think they would want him. Plus, if he can return kicks he is valuable to any team.
  2. I don't think this is a big deal at all. The coach even explained that we should not read into this, it was the plan all along and no one has been awarded the starting job yet. I just hope that the fans at the Ralph tomorrow night stay somewhat classy and don't boo Kolb. I know EJ has quickly become a fan favorite, and with good reason, he seems like a great guy who has embraced the team and city, 1st round draft pick and hopefully a franchise QB. But the team is doing the right thing here and EJ will get plenty of playing time tomorrow. I hope Kolb does well. Most of all, I want to win, preseason or not. Wish Kiko was playing but glad they are taking precaution. Also encouraging to hear Stevie may come back for game 3 of preseason.

  3. Could be.But,watching Kiko in Oregon, He always loved his big QB hits. Watch for him to come in on a blitz untouched and then Brady carted off drooling after the hit. I'll take the roughing the passer.

You know any kind of hit to Marcia would result in a hefty fine. It is in the rule book.
  4. I can't stand the Jets and 100% agree with EJ over Geno. I really don't see anything about Geno that I like. But there is a reason this kid fell to the 2nd round and had bad pre-draft reports. And, I am sure many first year QBs have had brutal training camp practices, preseason games and regular season games, and turn out fine. I know this is coming for EJ as well and it will be tough for us because we want him to succeed so bad and he is so likeable. But, it is coming. Just remember that Peyton Manning threw like 5 INTs in a Monday night game last season - very brutal.

  5. Mallet would start if Brady was out, not Tebow. I do not care who plays for the Patsies. As long as the Bills win. It would be extra sweet if Brady was playing when we did win, but beggars can't be choosers. That said, they will wrap Marcia in bubble wrap until 9/8, we all know this, and away we go.

  6. I love watching Hard Knocks and think it would be great to have it in Bflo. Regardless of Ralph's thoughts, I thought this would be something Russ Brandon would be all over. I think the distraction piece is overrated. The Bills haven't made the playoffs in 13 years so why would this make things worse? Why not try something different? Hard Knocks hasn't shown to have a negative affect on the performance of the teams that do it. The Bengals are overplayed as they were just on a couple years ago. Maybe the Bills weren't asked because it wouldn't have enough national attraction. I'll watch anyway, but this year is a bit boring.

  7. But where else could fans hurl insults at players from the safe distance behind their computer screen?

I don't have twitter but it serious a purpose. I like the EJ rarely tweets. Stevie is pretty funny & Leodis is on another planet.

Good list and I love Clarissa & Beadle. Perfect girls in my opinion.

If you like them, you will like Sam Ponder as well (aka Samantha Steele, married Chris Ponder). She is a CFB sideline reporter but sarcastic and very funny.

This "over-inflated" ego claim seems to be a little unjustified. Are you saying players like Eric Wood, Jeff Tuel, Dustin Hopkins, Kendall Gaskins have an over-inflated ego just because they post on twitter? I get not caring what people say on twitter. Although there are some nice exchanges (players interacting with fans, players giving out free stuff, pictures from practice/camp, etc) a lot of it is nonesense. But saying players that post on twitter have an "over-inflated" ego is unfair.

As for the topic, I enjoy TJ Graham's tweets. I get a similar impression from his tweets that he likes being a Bill and would re-sign with us if he gets the opportunity. I really want to like CJ's twitter, but almost all his tweets are bible verses. Nothing wrong with it, but he doesn't have much "original" stuff I guess you can call it. I also like the players that post pictures of them with fans or just responding to fans. I think it is good to see players responding to fans, especially when the response is good.

And as far as bills twitter accounts go, as anyone seen the fake Nate hackett account? it is @CrazyNateHacket. It was funny in the begining, but whoever runs the account is beating the red bull joke to death now. But I will admit. I got a good chuckle out it early on.

Right on - this is why I asked about "favorite Bills" to follow. I once followed Stevie J but I stopped because I found his tweets annoying. I prefer watching him play and that's about it. I do folow CJ but agree about the bible verses, however that is fine with me as it provides him inspiration. During CFB season he also tweets incessantly about Clemson.
  8. I love what the kid did yesterday. But really, I take Fitz' 2 minute TD against the Patsies for the win 2 years ago over the one on Sunday. That was in a real game against the Patsies. EJ's was against sad sack scrubs.

EJ looked great, but lets' not get ahead of ourselves. Yesterdays game was the first step in a journey of 1,000 miles.

Point taken, the 2-min drives Fitz did have that were successful were clearly more significant. My point was that given both samples of work to date, I would take EJ over Fitz if we were in that situation today, preseason or reg season. Keeping in mind I did see him play in college so I am not only going off of the one drive against the Colts. That is all I am saying. I love Fitz for what he did for us, but am truly glad we moved on as he was brutal last year.
  9. Charissa Thompson: I think she's one of the hottest female sports personalities out there.

Michelle Beadle is both attractive and hilarious on twitter. She handles "haters" in a funny way, unlike Tim Graham.

Darryl Talley. He's funny and his game day commentary is honest and blunt. Love this guy and still can't figure out why he isn't coaching somewhere.

Janine Talley, Darryl's wife. Her hatred of Kim Kardashian is epic, and funny.

EJ Manuel, because he will be the starting QB.

    Scorin Dorin Dickerson

Aaron Williams posts a lot of pics from training camp.

Fred Jackson and Scott Chandler (their wives too) are good follows. All post pics of game day and family pics. Brings kind of a human side to the professional athlete.

Logan couture of the San Jose Sharks. Big Bills fan.

Stevie Johnson, does a lot of twitter work.

Media side, Adam Schefter, Jay Glazer (does a ton of MMA tweets if that's your thing). Chris Trapasso, Howard Simon, Jonah Javad (one of those three usually do play by play at training camp.

That's all I have for now. If I think of more I will ad it.

    Awesome, thank you!

    Darryl Talley

Just started following him recently and totally hilarious! Also, love that he still is so ingrained in the Bills culture. Miss those guys from the 80s/90s.
  10. I believe they broadcast based on whoever is home. Hence the reason the Colts broadcast team was doing the game. Yes they were terrible and extremely biased in whatever way they could be.

At one point, they compared the Bills new offense to that of Kevin Wilson's at Indiana Univ. Ummmm, OK nice frame of reference. No NFL team wants to have any part of their game compared to IU football. Nor has that probaby ever occurred before yesterday.
  11. Fitz went on an 80 yard drive with 3:41 left to beat Oakland. Then Fitz lead a great two minute drive against New England to put points on the board before halftime....which helped sparked a second half comeback and finally ended our long string of futility against that franchise. We all crowed that we finally had a coach and quarterback with the courage to lead such a drive with little time on the clock....a few weeks later Fitz was crushed by London Fletcher and was never the same again.

Trent Edwards lead the Bills to three exciting come from behind wins...we all marveled that we now had a quarterback with the savvy and skill to lead the Bills in pressure drives....then he was crushed by Adrian Wilson and was never the same again.

jp Losman leads the Bills to an exciting come from behind victory over the Texans including and amazing two minute drill culminating in a last second touchdown. We are all excited that we have found a gunslinger quarterback who will lead the Bills on many future comebacks. The next year, Losman gets hurt, Edwards steps in and does better...everyone clammers for Edwards. Losman's confidence seems rattled....and he is never the same again.

Drew Bledsoe....too much baggage and history to go into.

Rob Johnson steps in and replaces Doug Flutie who had struggled to score all year. He leads a great two minute drive to set up a field goal to beat the Titans....a Titans team, by the way, that went on to shut EVERYONE down that they would face in those playoffs with the greatest show on turf barely scoring enough to beat them (23 pts) and Peyton Mannings Colts scoring no more than Johnson and the Bills......but wait...a throw back on the kickoff run in for a touchdown. Buffalo looses...the next year starts with some injuries, some stupid one yard sacks...and that after the devastating loss destroys Johnson's confidence and he is never the same again.

Buffalo, you seem to have a good one there in EJ Manuel.....Try not to break him.

Thanks for making us re-live all of that  If anything, we are a resilient bunch.
  12. Let's start another thread focused on the past and rewrite history at it

What the heck is with these new posters making a new thread just because they have a thought on an open topic?

    Step up your game folks

My apologies. The good news though about a message board is that you don't have to open, read, or respond the threads that don't interest you. I didn't see this as an open topic, anyway, unless it is buried in one of the 20 page threads.

Wouldn't it be reasonable to wait until he does it against 1st team competition in the regular season before jumping to conclusions?

The only conclusion that can be drawn is one at the present time. Not trying to predict the future. Yes, today, I would take EJ over Fitz to run the 2-min drill for the Bills based on what I have seen from both. Could that change? Of course. Of course it is early. But Fitz's late-game antics last year play into this more than anything. Glad we moved on.
  13. On First Take just now, Bayless just said that on that drive, EJ's headset malfunctioned and he had to call his own plays. Has anyone heard this from another source? BTW, neither Bayless nor Steven A thought EJ's performance yesterday justified his being the first QB selected. But Ed Werder on SportsCenter mentioned EJ first (and favorably) when he was asked for his top takeaways from week 1 of preseason.

Yes, just heard that this morning as well. if they did cut off his mic, that takes guts. But it prob just failed. Good work, kid.. regardless of what string he was playing against, if true.
  14. In his dreams at night Fitz sees himself being able to throw a dart down the middle between three defenders for a TD like EJ did yesterday...defenders didn't even have time to react before the ball hit Dickerson, lol

But when Fitz's alarm goes off he is throwing a wobbly pass over the middle of the field for an INT when he had a guy open in the endzone. It is a good thing the Titans have a top-notch OL (was just reading how they look unbelievable)- he'll probably look decent with a ton of time to throw and will overtake Nashville with Fitz-magic the first time Locker goes down, and the Harvard Boy will rise again.
  15. I was getting a kick out of the homer announcers as well. I could have sworn that they started talking about the weather, and the corn forecast, by the fourth quarter.

For all those who say "It's the pre-season, it means nothing" - okay, while true to an extent, would you rather be waking up this morning as a Colts fan?

My thoughts exactly - FWIW, I'd rather this outcome than the reverse score. Bottom line.
