Personally, I just thought it was interesting that he said it and was so adamant that it "wasn't close." Oh, but if he has a bad game... then I guess not. To me, that means it is a bit closer than what he is saying.I can't figure out if this board is upset that he said his or more upset that what he said is accurate.

Only half a point for Steve Young? Anyway, I know that some mobile QBs anre successful and some non-mobile QBs are successful. I would like some mobility because you can't depend on your OL all the time and sometimes need to make plays outside the pocket, not saying I would give up the pocket presence, I would want both.you guys wanna talk about these mobile quarterback, Marino had less than a hundred yards rushing for his career. let's see how many of those running quarterbacks won the Superbowl - Doug Williams, and maybe I'll give you a half a point for Steve Young.
Yep that was my point exactly. He was so strong in his opinion that Glennon was by far the best but then said he could have a bad game so everything could change. That's stupid.I have no clue who Cosell is.
I am nit sure what track record he has with QB or player analysis.
But to the OP, yes him sayin gone bad game could change everything makes him sound like a 'shock' type of guy.
How can you say one guy is by far better, but give the disclaimer of a bad game changing everything.
Honestly he does not sound very credible to me

No one runs on OSU, especially if the QB is not elite and they csn focus on the run. Leveon Bell got drafted high by Pitt and he probably had about 15 yds on them in 2012.Khalil Mack will probably be the best L.B. out of the draft.
As for Oliver, he was awful against O.S.U. and Baylor, the closest thing he's had to N.F.L. competition. There is no way he gets drafted, but good for him if he does.

I also think that once teams get film on a guy, they can get exposed to some degree and they really need to stay ahead of that. Glennon has some nice weapons (esp. Vincent Jackson) which is a huge help to him as a rookie.Glennon has been better than I expected and the top rookie to date. I think that his lack of athleticism and his inconsistency throwing the ball (see college) will catch up to him. He had the best "arm talent" in the draft IMO but I do not see him as a great QB.

I really like Neutz. I am an OSU fan our secondary could not cover him in their game this year. Would love to get him in Bills TC.Sign me up for Bo Oliver as well. I always look at him as a Ray Rice/MoJo clone. He's short but has muscles on top of muscles. Great shiftiness through the holes too. There's no way he is not NFL ready.
Last i checked a few weeks ago Oliver and Neutz were both in the mid to high 30's in terms of rankings at their positions for the draft. That puts both around the 7th round-UDFA status. Personally i think both are draft worthy earlier than their rankings. Of the two I'd say Oliver could have the higher upside because what he is doing in college will project to the NFL. As for Neutz, he's a great player for UB but there are a bunch of tall-great hands, not blazing speed- white guys that come out every year. The Bills had one in mini-camp (Kaufman?) out of Eastern Washington. I still think Neutz could be a productive NFL player though.
Hopefully the Bills having more close-up knowledge of these guys will take a chance.
I won't even mention Mack because he is ridiculous in the MAC conference and will be a 1st rounder.

He had negative 124 yards rushing in college. I was referring to outside the pocket, and that comes right from his scouting reports, not something I made up. I think he fell off the radar because he had a very poor bowl game, although I did not see it and I am just going by what I read. The second sentence shows a distinct lack of research on Glennon. He's not a mobile guy as far as getting out of the pocket and running around, but he's got the best mobility of anybody WITHIN the pocket in this draft. By a long shot. He's got that pocket mobility you want to see from your pro QB. Steps up when the pressure comes from the outside, steps from side to side when the rush comes up the middle. I LOVED Glennon coming into the draft. When he was being talked about as a potential first rounder I wanted him badly. Then he kind of fell off the radar a bit, and he wasn't really in the conversation anymore.

I was thinking that too... Geno looked really good against ATL too. EJ has played some of the league's toughest defenses in his game action - Carolina, Baltimore, Jets, Cleveland, Pitt. ATL will be a good barometer.I always thought he was a pro looking QB in college. He just had that look and arm strength. Anyone who goes 20 for 23 (87%) with a 10 yd per pass avg, 2 TDs 0 INT's in an NFL game must have some talent at the position. Now I agree it was only against the Falcons...but EJ will have the same opportunity against that same ATL defense on Dec. 1st so we'll see.

I think Glennon is OK but I think he is somewhat of a statue. He has very limited mobility or escapability. I think where he was drafted was appropriate. I can see why Schiano wanted to get him in there. I did not think he was great in college, but I only saw him play a couple times. He could end up being the next Tom Brady - also no mobility.Awesome, I feel vindicated Lol. Check my posts from the fall of 2012 and i was head of the Glennon bandwagon wanting the Bills to draft him early.

My question pertained to Glennon. Cosell said something along the lines of this could all change, if Glennon has a bad game. One bad game would change everything? I thought it "wasn't even close." That's what I thought was funny. So he is supposed to change his tune now? I dont expect him to.
Not hearing Maylock detract his statements about Cordy Glenn (which he really needs to do)

Greg Cosell was on Colin Cowherd's show today and said Mike Glennon is by far the best rookie QB in this class and it wasn't close. He said it was based on his QB attributes. He is far advanced in the pocket - moreso than RGIII now in his 2nd year. Anticipation, timing and accuracy. Said of course it could all change and he could have a bad game anytime, has only started 6 or 7.
So would one bad game by Glennon, as he said, then all of a suddent not make him not the best QB in this rookie class? I feel like he was extremely strong in how he stated his opinion. He did not speak specifically to EJ or Geno, although Cowherd did not ask him any follow-up questions other than to sound stunned and say "really?!?"
I am not surprised by Cosell's comments as he saw EJ as a 4th rd talent prior to the draft. I believe he had Barkley in the 4th and then said he though EJ would not be taken before him. That said, he also said he thought Nassib would go the highest of all of them, if I recall correctly.

I really like Alex Neutz. Great size - Ohio State couldn't cover him. He would look good on our team.
-
He'd make a perfect replacement for Roethlisberger.
-
I haven't read through all the posts so may have already been mentioned, but I think being in the DC market hurts him. While I think he has been a bit of an attention seeker, I also think his comments have not been inflammatory about the game yet they are being overblown along with a lot of what happens with him. No one cares what goes on in Bflo so you'll never see EJ or Marrone comments leading SC. Just my 2 cents.

Like the Redskins last year... didn't they start out 3-6 and win their final 7 with a rookie QB?It ain't over til its over. Long shot, but long shots have carried the day before.

I think if Tavon Austin has another good game or two he will be considered for OROY. Lacey will likely get it.DROY is a distinct possibility. I can't imagine that Alonso would not be in the top five at this point. EJ is a different kettle of fish. He's kind of in the mix despite his injury but he will have to keep up his Jets game play level through the rest of the season to be a serious contender. If we (very unlikely) make the playoffs he will be a very serious contender.

I am not typically one to spin a positive into a negative, but is kind of ticks me off that MG doesn't have a KR for a TD yet in the reg season. Our blocking on ST sucks. McK too - he was one of the best PR in the league last yr. He didn't forget how to do it. He had the one that called back but it was pretty obvious that the penalty was a huge assist. Just something that really should be better as these guys could really be game changers on returns.

He is! See the article I posted above... fastest guy in the NFL today and fastest since Bob Hayes.I understand your argument JBoyst. Don't completely disagree. There's obviously much more to the long jump than only speed. Power is huge. That's why the combine has the broad jump as well. But to say that speed isn't a huge factor in the long jump would be a lie.
Also, not quite sure, but wasn't he an alternate in the 4x100? Not sure.
Either way, he is world class fast. He's probably the fastest man in the NFL today and that's nothing to be taken lightly, and that's something we can all agree on.

Agreed. Their next 3 games are Dome, Fla, Fla. He won't be here next year unless he is perfect down the stretch but I can't see bringing in someone else now. While I agree Moorman is not good it makes little sense to bring in anyone else at this point. Plus he holds for Carpenter. They have an entire off season to try out kickers. Use the Levitre compensatory pick to bolster the OL. Trade down in the fourth and get an extra fifth. Draft "best punter" again.
-
I agree, as they are in the throes of evaluating the college guys for the draft and decided what needs to address and when. Very important to see if they can get a guy off of a PS that is a need. Not to say they won't draft a OT, but how high do they need to go on it when they also need a G, TE, LB, etc....Why not? He's a 6-5 320 pound tackle plucked off a practice squad late in the season. They are giving him a look see and "leaving no stone unturned"
Plus Pears is over 30 now and Hairston has a serious injury. Maybe they are looking already and being a forward thinking aggressive organization.

100% true. Also, he usually tweets in Spanish (he tweets about once/month if that)which of the two is a leader on Defense?
Kiko or Richardson. all I can say is I see it in The Legend
BTW I heard one announcer say that Kiko's main language is Spanish... was that pure BS?

That is why I posted that link to the article on Goodwin to his thread as well... I felt bad for burying it here in case people saw a thread titled "TJ Graham" and didn't open it, lolI find it to be very interesting that every Graham thread is hijacked by discussion of Goodwin, and every Goodwin thread is hijacked by discussion of Graham.
