I still think that ultimately these sponsors want reduced rates from the NFL, and won't stop their sponsorship. Of course they will pull products sponsored by individual players, is that really a surprise? I don't know how it might be like NAFTA, but the sponsors aren't gonna leave forever, and I don't think they care who the commissioner is. They want monetary concessions from the league.

They are probably milking the situation to get better advertising rates from the NFL. Watch for more of this. The NFL has milked every one else, now it's their turn. (Maybe the fans should boycott, and force them to lower ticket prices! C'mon, we all deserve a cut of this) I doubt Goodell will get fired, they just want some financial concessions behind the scenes.

How will Henderson hold up this week against Wake?
Prickly Pete replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After reading that article, maybe Hackett deserves a little bit of credit for having good blocking schemes and plays to neutralize Wake? -
When do I allow myself to get excited?

Why not ask "When should I stop being excited?". -
It should have been a touchback...

Actually, the vibe I got from the both the title, and the original post was that the OP was trying to set himself apart as "more discerning, and "more realistic" than other fans on this board. That is why he received a push back. -
Hackett too conservative in the red zone?
Prickly Pete replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have ZERO complaints about Hackett. The offense has a great mix of plays. -
Can a 7th round RT win OROY?

I think Henderson is playing great, but I also think Cameron Wake (a very good player) was getting a bit over-hyped after week one. -

Nope. I watched it too, and it was a touchdown. -
A Toronto team AND a Buffalo team in the NFL?
Prickly Pete replied to kwe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get why some fans want to change the Bills division. The AFC East has Boston and New York, 2 huge markets, that's good for the Bills. I want to keep the association with the East, not the Mid-West. The NFC East is the top dog, then the AFC East. It would be foolish to want that to change so we can share a division with failing cities like Detroit and Cleveland. If there came to be a team in Toronto, I would want that team in the AFC East. I swear, it takes me a while to even remember which teams sre in the NFC and AFC South divisions. They are off the radar. Do you think jerry Jones would want to leave the NFC East? "Yeah, we wanna play in New Orleans, Phoenix, and Atlanta. Not NYC, Philly, Washington"...no way. They stay in the East where the big TV ratings, and population is concentrated. -

How does this win impact your season prediction?
Prickly Pete replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The depth on this team is way better than in MANY years. Last year Justin Rogers by himself cost the team 1 or 2 games. I see 10 wins, and if they are wins against the right teams, a playoff berth. -
I think it's it's hard to judge an OC when the QB isn't consistent. The OC and QB have to grow together, and an OC has to have confidence in the QB. EJM has improved, and suddenly the play calling gets better!

I think you MIGHT see Kyle Orton today
Prickly Pete replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What we are seeing from EJM is pretty much what Orton would give the Bills on his best day. Orton isn't better than EJ. -
Week 1: Bills vs Bears prediction & AFCE teams
Prickly Pete replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think both Spiller and Watkins are gonna score, or have a huge play each. If Watkins makes a big play early, he can get into the heads of the Bears defenders, and it could really help them win. If not, I think the Bills will lose, with the score something like 27-20, Bears. -
Oh, poppycock! The only reason any Bills said it motivated them is because they won the game. You never hear them say "yeah, we didn't play well, and after that team disrespected us, we were really motivated. It just didn't work out". This is also different because it was just one player anyway, not a whole team taking a break. It's opening day, no motivation is needed, and if anyone is playing harder because of this, THAT is a guy I don't want on the team.

Over/under for Orton starts this season

I'm curious how much time Carr had playing with the one's against the one's. EJ has been pretty good...against the two's.
-
Yeah, but Rogers has Andrew Luck throwing him the ball, and is playing in an offense that is built around the QB. Hogan is playing for a team that has a mess at the QB position, and will be trying to run the ball as often as possible. Two very different situations.

Cutler annoyed with Bills’ signing of QB Jordan Palmer

Cutler annoyed with Bills’ signing of QB Jordan Palmer
Prickly Pete replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is way overblown by some fans. Has there ever been a player or coach that has explained in retrospect, some kind of pivotal advantage that was gained from this kind of signing? (I can believe it has happened randomly, but not very often). I suppose the Bears will sign Thad Lewis now? I doubt it. I think they would have signed Palmer even if he hadn't been cut by a team on the schedule. I think they like the idea of having a player/coach-type guy as the 3rd QB. That wasn't an annoyed Cutler, just a guy answering some questions from the press. An annoyed Cutler freaks out. It is a "clickbait" headline.
