  1. My pre-draft prediction will be a base 11 personnel of: Palmer - X Coleman - Z Shakir - H Kincaid/Knox - Y
  2. It’s not adjusting a strategy. It’s doubling down on it. Ever since the Elam draft Beane has allowed need to drive his early round selections. I don’t expect that to change. The difference now is that it feels the draft pool of rookies plays much better into the more substantial and immediate needs we have on D. That being said, in a draft flush with receivers, we ended up taking the 8th one off the board with our first pick. Nothing would surprise me. Honest question because idk the offensive guys. Do you foresee a weapon available in RD1 or 2 that would come in and raise the floor of the offense? More so than a rotational DE/DT or CB2 would add to the defense? I don’t see how that piece works into our team based off of contracts and draft capital that are sunk costs.
  3. Maybe. But not immediately. I would not expect a 3rd round WR to come in and immediately contribute given the current state of our roster. I feel the impact of a rookie class needs to be immediate given where we are. You can frame it based off need AND based off of who is currently in the WR room (this year and next). All this considered, I think it’s best to punt on any early selections and try and continue to evolve what we currently have while adding a back-end WR who can contribute down the road or immediately on ST.
  4. Would Williams be there at 56? If so I’m game. I don’t see the early investment at WR earlier than round 4. We are locked into Keon/Palmer/Shakir to a least next season and you are likely drafting WR5. This guy needs to play teams (esp. since Palmer doesn’t) and likely isn’t playing meaningful snaps in year one. A DE/DT/CB has an immediate pay for significant upside and a better ROI initially especially considering the suspensions.
  5. For the last handful of years Beane has opted to find stop-gap re-treads in the interior. I agree it would be nice to take a larger investment into the position and I truly think they will. That said I don’t love the idea of taking a 1 tech run stuffing player in RD1 who will potentially come off the field on money downs. In fact the more I simmer on this the more I believe he’ll end up at DE or CB at 30 and adress 1T at 56 or 62. I also don’t see them taking a guy who is a 3T that early, as it’d be a bit redundant with Oliver/Carter combo. Is there an edge player that can play at 7T DE on early downs and pump inside on 2nd/3rd and longs? I think versatility continues to be something they seek. Is there a DT who can play the 1T on early downs and also offer some get up on passing situations bumping out to the 3? I am very intrigued by all the scenarios
  6. As much as I love the trenches and want to see them go big early and often, I am wondering if the value is too good in RD2 to take a DT at 30. What is the drop off from 30 to 56? If they do go RD1 DT at 30, Harmon and Grant are the two I really like. I think Collins can play, but I’m a little worried about his height/size and ability to play with a low pad level vs some of stalwart guards of the league. At the end of the day, I am sure everyone has their favorites. I just hope they walk away with 2DTs and 1 DE early in the draft.
  7. This is my biggest fear. We’ve fallen into this trap three consecutive years in RD1 and it’s always ended up poorly. If the run on corners happens early, I hope Beane is wise enough to not again draft this years version of WR8 off the board at CB or DE
  8. Silver lining is we roster an additional DE and DT likely from a later round selection and see if they bring any juice in live game action. Maybe one will stick? Just trying to find the good here. Although I am not too worried about it. Last year we went through stretches without Smoot Von and Carter. It isn’t ideal, but maybe the door will be opened for someone to step up that would have otherwise not been given an opportunity. Go Bills Mike Green making it to 30 is wild. He’s been flying up boards into the teens.
  9. Damnnnn I get to repurpose my Hughes jersey. Niceeeee
  10. I thought they were getting us gifts?
  11. Predicting he doesn’t make the roster
  12. Any insight on Jeff Okudah? Anything worth a look?
  13. So from my calculations, the Bills will need roughly 3.5 million to sign the rookie class over the summer. I am not sure where things stand now but it has to be getting close; https://overthecap.com/draft
  14. Terrible deal signing all these Canadians. As much as I love them, the extra 25% tariffs don’t allow our dollars to go as far. Sitting down at the table short stacked, Beane!
  15. This is exactly the opposite of how they used AJE last year and idky we’d expect that to change. They’d save 4M cutting him, so if you can bring in a rookie who can complete right away then I think it makes him expendable especially knowing he’s on his last leg. edit; hang on do you mean “rushing the passer” or “rush the football” because my post was in regards to him being primary an early down player
  16. Rumor has it the icing on the cake to get the deal done was the return of Reggie Gilliam
  17. I don’t see this as removing DE from the discussion at 30. In fact, I think it shouldn’t. Bosa is on a one year deal and AJ is free agent next year too. That leaves Groot, Solomon and Hecht as the only under contract past this season with Groot being the only real hand-in-the-dirt 4-3 edge. If the BPA left is a DE, I’m still all over that
  18. This makes AJ expendable, especially if they draft a DE at 30
  19. I didn’t say I didn’t like it, just that I am not expecting much. In fact I am glad Beane is swinging
  20. I have a feeling this will not go well. Can’t fault Beane for trying.
  21. I believe it’s absolutely realistic to expect to bring in at least 3 rotational guys who will play significant snaps, #30: CB (100% of snaps) #56: DE (40% of snaps) #62: DT (30-40% of snaps) Past this you can grab a safety who can play rotationally. I don’t expect and game wreckers unless we get lucky on taking a guy who high upside. Most likely outcome is 3 guys who can be significant factors in year one.
