I made a dopplebock last year that was in the 10% range. A few years ago I brewed a Belgian Abbey ale that was about 9%. The Belgian turned out fantastic because I cultured the yeast from a Chimay bottle to ferment it with. When the weather gets cooler a few of my fellow homebrewers and I are planning a "monster brew" session. That is the beer you brew has to be above 10% abv. Right now I'm leaning towards an Imperial Pilsner for that.
Great to hear you are enjoying your first home-brewed beer. Now that you have the bug, what's next in line to brew?

Double Sh*t. Wife just called... she's trying to get gas because she's @ like 1/8th of a tank....
Every station she's passed has a line going out the driveway and down the street. Tells me there are police at stations keeping order. Hang on guys, here we go.

The irritating thing... I'm sure we'll have enough gas here, this is the initial flood of what-if panic I'd argue.
I just talked to my wife as well. One of her co-workers' husband is a police officer here in the Raleigh area. They have been told to be prepared to handle gas shortages in the area over the next week.

25% abv! That's one big beer! They just raised the limit that can be brewed or sold in NC to 15% so this one won't be available here. Not that I care though, I'm just happy that I can pick up a bottle of Chimay or Duvel on the way home from work now if I want.

Police officers were asking residents to give up any guns they had before they boarded buses and trucks because police desperately needed the firepower: Some officers who had been stranded on the roof of a motel said they were being shot at overnight. -
I saw a station this morning on the way to work that had it for $2.69 / gallon. I was at about 1/2 a tank, but I figured I might as well fill up before prices hit $3+ by the weekend.

Congrats tater! Hopefully your son gets off to a better start with the Bills than my son did. I brought him home from the hospital just in time for kickoff of the Pittsburgh debacle.

For some it's the draft, for others maybe it's mini-camp, some folks don't get that fire in their belly going until the start of training camp in July. However, I don't truly begin to feel like it's football season until we get the always stimulating "it's only pre-season" vs. "we're doomed" debate. Thanks everyone, now I'm really ready for some football!

I got it off the Net because I thought it was just one ugly guy. But, after watching the National Geographic special on 9/11 the other night, I was surprised to see the same picture and (since it was on so briefly) I'm not sure, but I think it was the mastermind of the 9/11 bombing or someone about as evil. Does anyone know for sure who it is? Either way, he has to go now that I understand the association. I'm shopping for a better one - be patient!

Yes, I thought so......just a ridiculous, stupid play, by, in his own words...."The Best CB in the league". Yeah OK Nate, you keep telling yourself that, apparently some people believe you.
WORST and MOST COSTLY play of the year. EASILY. Doesn't mean I don't think he is a damn good corner, but he's not the best, and no where near worth the best money. No CB is right now.
4th and Long, at home, shut down CB, vs 125 year old Jimmy Smith with the game on the line......and WE LOSE the battle on a jump ball.
Actually my memory didn't serve me. It was 4th and 14. But the completion was for 45 yards!! They went from their 34 to our 21. Terrible play.

Nate is definitely a top flight CB in this league, but if he is a true "shut-down" corner then he knocks down that damn pass on 4th and forever last year against the Jags and we likely go to the playoffs. He is still prone to lapses like that every now and then.

Hootie was at the Erie Basin Marina in Buffalo a few weeks back. The main reason I went was "The Great Train Robbery" played before them. This band rocks, check them out if you ever get the chance. As for Hootie, I admit the covers were pretty good, they did "add it up", "surrender", and "Keep your hands to yourself." But their new album was pretty lame, sounded very country'ish. The show seemed to drag and they only played a little over an hour.
Wow. The Great Train Robbery??!! That brings back memories of some drunken nights at Nietzche's back in my college days. They are a great band, but I thought they broke up years ago for good?

Yesterday before I left for work I had a half tank but figured that I'd top off at $2.69 at the Exxon close to my house. When I got home from work it was $2.99 and when I got back from my softball game it was $3.59!! I thought that the law in NC was that prices could only be changed once within 24 hours?
