  1. Not to open up an argument... Aren't you just setting up your kid to eventually "regress to the mean?"

What is with this "leg-up" mentality?

    :lol::lol::(

To be honest I don't know if it's good or bad. He certainly isn't being pushed by us or his daycare provider to do these things, he is just picking them up because of the activities she does with the older kids. My wife is a pediatric nurse practitioner and she tells me that he is slightly advanced for his age, otherwise I would have just thought all of this was normal since this is my first child. If his dad is any indication though there is certainly a good shot that he will regress to the mean as he gets older. ;)

  2. My son has been at an in home daycare since he was 4 months old. It was tough at first, especially for my wife, but he really has been better off for it. There are advanatges to being the youngest one as well, by being around slightly older kids all day long my son is really advanced for his age. He knew the entire alphabet and could count to 10 by 18 months.

  3. Any legal eagles out there?

The cops got a tip that he was their man, and needed a DNA sample to compare to DNA found at the crime scenes. They tailed him to a local restaurant, where they went in to dine undercover as well. They told the manager to make sure that nothing was touched on his table, and after he and his wife finished eating and left, the fuzz took his silverware, glassware, etc. to the lab to collect DNA. I do not believe they had a warrant or anything like that.

Is that DNA evidence collected from the restaurant admissable in court?

Interesting question. I'm no legal expert, but I'd suspect that since the restaurant manager was informed and agreed to cooperate everything is ok with collecting evidence from used glassware and silverware.

  4. whats wrong with that?

You could just crash a local "stanley cup party"

And I used to work with this guy. Guess quitting was a bad idea.

I might be the only Buffalo fan happy to see Carolina take it home last year.

I had a chance to party with the cup as well when it made it's rounds at Blinco's. My friend called me and told me it was going to be there and that he could get me in. I politely told him no thanks and he was shocked that I didn't want to go. What possible fun could I have as a Sabres fan watching a bunch of team swapping Canes fans party with the Stanley Cup?

  5. The name Ruuuuuuuutuuu brings up good memories? I only remember the year he was our second line center and scored all of two goals all year. I believe he was later traded to Chicago

Yes, he was traded to Chicago along with someone else whose name escapes me at the moment in exchange for the Dominator!

  6. i am actually coming down to Cary this weekend to visit my sister...any good beer places to visit?

Cary and surrounding towns have some ok places to get beer. You can usually find a few good offerings on tap at either Harrison's or the McGregor Ale House. However, if you are going to be out towards Durham then I'd really recommend these places:

    The Federal

    Tyler's

Actually now that I think of it you could head out towards my neck of the woods in Holly Springs and go to the tour at the Carolina Brewing Company. Their tours are every Saturday at 1 PM (although I have learned from experience that if you arrive at 12:30-ish they'll still give you a glass to begin sampling). It's self serve free beer until about 2:15 to 2:30. They only shut the taps down for about 30 minutes during the actual "tour". My record is five pints of free beer, but then again I can walk there from my house. :D

  7. "And our mission is clear, to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people."

Take away the words that the administration kept emphasizing and there never would have been support for the invasion, which is how they scared enough of the public into supporting their policy.

Spin it however you wish. The fact is that the reasons were clearly stated before and during the early days of the invasion and were not changed only after WMD's weren't found as liberals would like us to believe.

  8. And of course when no WMD's were found, the reason for the invasion became Freeing the Iraqi People from the bloodthirsty, savage, and inhumane rule of Saddam and Sons.

    Wrong.

President Discusses Beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. American and coalition forces have begun a concerted campaign against the regime of Saddam Hussein. In this war, our coalition is broad, more than 40 countries from across the globe. Our cause is just, the security of the nations we serve and the peace of the world. And our mission is clear, to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people.

  9. I don't know, Sam Adams may be better then the Mass produced Canadian Beers like Canadian and Blue, but some of the others like Moosehead, Rickards, and Alexander Keiths may just beat it out

I think a list would look something like this

Mass produced American Beer (Coors, Bud) <<< Cheap Canadian Beer (lakeport, Laker, any of the Honey Beers) <<< Mass Produced Canadian Beers (Canadian, Blue) <<< Premium American Beer (Sam Adams) <<< Premium Canadian Beer (Rickards, Keiths) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Guiness

Arguing the merits of all the mass produced beers is like choosing between the five ugliest girls in your high school class. You just can't win with any of them. Sam Adams, Guiness etc. are a step up for sure, but it would be equivalent to stepping up from the fat ugly chicks to butterfaces. I suggest everyone check out this website and branch out and experiment a little when drinking beer. There are so many great styles out there that the average beer drinker hasn't been exposed to. I promise that if you give it time you'll find something that you love to drink.

  10. Michael Peca

Toronto Maple Leafs center Michael Peca on Friday suffered a torn MCL ligament in his right knee and has a fractured right tibia.

I suffered almost the same injury in September except my MCL was just strained. I'm walking now, but it's still painful and have been told I face slew of long term problems with my knee. I can't imagine how devastating this injury would be to an athlete. I have always liked Mike Peca, I hope he is able to come back from this.

  11. some folks, like myself, only get sick when they GET the flu shot. I've had a flu shot 3 times in my life, all 3 times I got sick as a dog. Yes, I know the virus is dead when they put it in you but there are many other goodies included in those shots that can f*ck a person up.

Do you have an egg allergy? If you do then you probably shouldn't get the vaccine. Your problem also could be the thimerosal they put in as a preservative. There is a thimerosal free version that is typically available for children.
