How about somebody get drunk and then killing someone leaving the party. How would you feel for all you who approve of this. Parents would be sueing Gurtler right now.
There you have it. I'm not commenting on the merits of the law, but for him to host a party like that, he is essentially trusting 80 teenagers to be responsible drinkers. He's an idiot.

Gurtler is pretty stupid if he didn't think hosting a loud party with 80 teenagers wasn't going to draw the attention of the authorities and potentially get him arrested.

Teach your wife to mow. Which means safety glasses, gloves, long pants and boots. Nerdy? I suppose. But check out the injury stats - mower injuries are huge.
I'll give a big second on this one. I just visited my eye surgeon yesterday and he told me he has two new patients in the last month that suffered serious eye injuries from lawn mower debris.

I don't know. Of all the headlining bands in the series, Saliva is the only one that I have never heard of.

I attended a Sabres game down here against the Canes last season. At the time we were in the middle of a severe drought in NC. There were serious water restrictions going on at the time, people were being fined $1000 and up in Raleigh if they were caught watering their lawns. Anyway, the classy scoreboard operators at the RBC were putting up messages on the scoreboard that derided the city of Buffalo and Sabres fans. These continual messages led to some some not so friendly jaw jacking back and forth between my group of Sabres fans of various canes "faithful" seated around me. Finally after they put up some very original Buffalo weather jokes on the scoreboard I told the jackass fans around me that along with the horrible weather in Buffalo/WNY they also have an infinite supply of fresh water........ Silence.

He said on Stern today that he lives about half the year in Mexico- might be a problem.
I loved his interview on Stern, then he lost me with all the 9/11 conspiracy crap he has bought into.

The Chapel Hill area produced some great bands (e.g. Superchunk, Archers of Loaf)
Don't forget Snatches of Pink! Another great Chapel Hill band.

I finalized the deal on my 2009 Murano yesterday afternoon. Already have the paperwork (which was faxed to me) and will add it to my insurance right before going in. I got ended up getting the vehicle for $1,090 below the invoice price listed on Edmunds.com. This was without once going to the dealership which I will be purchasing the vehicle at (West Herr Nissan). Mike Barney tried to compete, but couldn't come close on price.

Have you used them NC? Went to that web site and looked pretty cool. Now, I am not planning on buying a car anytime soon, and usually buy used when I do, but that site looked great for buying a new car. And, I would think that now is a great time to buy
Yes, I used that system to buy a 2007 Tacoma. I never set foot in a delaership, other than when I was test driving trucks to find out what I wanted. I faxed about 15 dealers near me laying out what I wanted and asked them to make me their best offer. I received legitimate responses from 7 of the 15 that I faxed. I didn't fax the dealer that I had test drove at, but I did give the salesman the opportunity to beat my best offer after I had narrowed it down. I ended up getting the truck I wanted for under invoice. For $40 it is well worth the money, time and aggravation saved. My wife will be up for a new car later this year and I will definitely be using it again.

LOL. That was his first (and probably not only) mistake. You NEVER negotiate on the basis of the monthly payment; it's too easy for them to screw you in other ways while they make you "think" you got a good deal. When I'm buying a car I let the dealer think I'm paying cash until we've agreed on the price. I also negotiate any trade-in separately, and get my own financing set up beforehand. I then give their finance people a chance to match or beat the deal.
All good advice, the only further thing I would add is to NEVER walk into a dealership to negotiate the price of a car. Use the Fighting Chance method and the "Fax attack".

see that's why i put in the thread title "Howard Stern vs Dolly Parton...." it really amazes me why people feel compelled to make disparaging comments on things they do not care about or do not like...or I guess "hate". But if you must you must, thanks for the contribution and even more so, bumping this thread up for even more exposure.

My question about that. First, you pay for EACH model of car you want their service on, correct? So I should be pretty sure between the one or two models I want?
Also, you got offers from 7 dealers? Didn't this require 7 hits on your credit? I'm very cognizant of my credit score now, and I wouldn't want 7 hard hits all at once.

Just checked out Big Head Todd's tour page and it looks like they are playing Thursday at The Square in Buffalo on 9/4. This qualifies as a must see, especially since it's free.

Not true. Easily obtainable music (FM radio, MTV) for the most part has been stojan for a while, but if you look around the intertubes there is some really great stuff being put out.

I said most of them. I like the Foo Fighters and the White Stripes, but I haven't heard their current albums yet. I love new music, I just haven't used FM radio for the past decade to get exposed to it. An early favorite of mine for best of 2008 is from Big Head Todd and The Monsters. You can download it for free from their website.

I havent looked at the list yet, but my question before i do is, how many of these have you listened to? or are you just assuming that they are unworthy? heck i may come back to recant this statement after i look at the list, but i am finding alot of stuff that i used to dismiss because of what others say that I am actually beginning to enjoy.....
The only ones that I have heard on that list are Zeppelin, U2 and the Beatles. As far as the rest, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet I'm not missing anything with most of them.
