  1. I read the policy....actually, its not much different than the policy that was already in place . I actually have had that plastic bag they describe for more than 10 years. That is transparent, 1'x1'. I carry poncho's, small radio, binocs, sandwiches, chips whatever....just not liquids. Of course, my grey hair helps me through security. Younger folks get treated worse, I have seen it. (Although, last year I had to hold my i phone out in the rain so they could wand me. They said it was for the good of my i phone, the wand can damage them allegedly. Like putting it out in the rain could not!) I agree, the security provisions take away from the game experience substantially, and the lines are horrendous. I am likely a short timer as a season ticket holder, can't take this much longer.

  2. Actually, there is something behind Belicheck going this route. Perhaps he has decided that Mallet doesn't have "it". Great arm but not the head, I am guessing. Look for Pats to trade Mallet....somebody else to be #2, and Tebow at #3 for now. Tebow does have the head.....maybe not the arm, though. Tebow was a #1 pick.....a nice pickup if he can be salvaged. Not happy its the Pats, but Brady will be there for 4 more years anyhow.

  3. Stevie Johnson is a very capable receiver, but not totally elite because of his lack of speed. Most NFL corners can run him down from behind. their real problem with him is his moves....he can separate and can catch, although he has only average hands. I don't think this rating is far off.

  4. I guess I am still wondering why, with the Bills not moving on Levetre, that Reinhart was not resinged. Reinhart start many games over two years, and did workman like job. Yet, little if any comment on this board about that loss. Another front office failing in my view. He only got a one year contract from San Diego, so he did not go to a top of the line contract. Why not keep him?

  5. We really should discuss the root cause of the reception probem. I live in Niagara County, substantially north of the transmitters for the Buffalo area, which are all south of the city. In fact, we lost the ability to get any (digital) out of the air signals when the mandatory conversion to digital signals was implemented. So, we need to blame the FCC and the federal government in general for this problem. I my case, I bought, tried out, and returned 6 different antenna's, allegedly supposed to bring in digital, none worked and many were intermittant during questionable weather where electrostatic effects wiped out the digital signal. Folks, this was big government at its worst....they are forcing us to go to satellite TV or cable...consider us OTA (out of the Air) folks to be throwbacks and hicks. I now have directv, and it works fine almost all the time. Anyhow, just making the point here, not surprised to hear this war story from central NY....same all over. Many people got hosed by the digital conversion....that was the intent!. Its all about the money folks. The media industry lobbied the FCC to get into your pocketbook!!! They could have mandated higher power levels for digital, but then there would not have been all those new customers for cable and satellite! And, finally, you should be aware that the same lobby is now pushing to ELIMINATE OTA service, as it is a technology whose time is past! (yeh, it is about the money folks)

  6. This one makes my head hurt a little. they have a lot of receivers, and many of them are their pickups...meaning they are at least somewhat invested in these guys. So, this pickup has another source.....maybe looking for receivers that can do practice squad....or maybe they have already written off Kaufmann because of lack of speed. And Smith and Easley. Easley was a 4 pick, but missing all that time...and likely no longer practice squad elgible.....anyhow this new signee would ,at least , be practice squad elgible. Could also be that the Bills have some insight that we don't know, Maybe Whaley likes this guy, or scouted him, or something.

  7. Neck? What neck?

Both go from jaw to shoulder. They don't have necks.

Either way, Kiko is really turning out to sounds like a great pick up assuming he can do the same in pads. I don't recall Poz being given as much responsibility until his 2nd or 3rd year.

Poz was hurt so much, that I con't think that you can even count those years.....he only did 5 games one year, and there was another washout as well. As a brittle middle linbacker, we were better off with Poz elsewhere. I wonder how many games he has played at Jacksonville...any complete seasons?
  8. I loved how Nix got flamed here after falling for something he never should have expected. What those guys did was mad shady, immeasurably unethical and as we're about to find out, borderline illegal. I doubt they're found guilty of anything, though.

Ugh....these guys did this for profit....they sold the recording to deadspin.com for $200. I don't know if they go to jail, but, not out of the question. And, they will be found guilty of illegal wiretapping, just a question of what sentence they draw.
  9. Such analytical tools will take time to implement and grow in therms of use and validation of the techniques. That is unless you can steal somebody from another franchise that is already in this game using these tehcniques. (see Moneyball the movie) I believe they will get to the development of this tool asap, they are still shaking down the new organization. And, the new scouts are going to have to be amenable to this approach.....and if Whaley doesn't believe, this won't happen either.

  10. I like that Whatley made these changes day 1, he knows what he wants to do, and he went and got the guys it takes to run it. Also, despite the non political correctness of getting folks you used to work with, it immediately puts the lines of communication in place with understanding at both ends. And, to be a great GM, Whately doesn't need to know it all, he just has to have people who do, and use them well. Good start!

I think the changes show Nix wasn't just a figurehead as some had speculated.

I thought Whaley's comment about Fisher was interesting, "...he knows the process that I'm going to implement." It sounds like Whaley's going to make the Bills scouting department run like the Steeler's scouting department.

No need to reinvent a process if you can copy one that works well. Good for him, a good idea whereever it comes from!
  11. I like that Buddy will be around to advise....Whatley can make the calls, but grey head advice is always useful, even if you reject it in the end. Did a lot of that in my corporate career, and it never hurt me, and helped many many times. Good Luck Buddy. And, time for Whatley to "saddle up"...good for him as well.

  12. My guess...practice squad, activated after first injury to a WR. Would help his case if he could do something on special teams, but not likely, unless he can tackle. Never make him a TE...if anything, train him up and try to work on his speed.....teach him the moves and knowledge of a pro. But, I gotta tell ya, anybody who caught that many balls is already a pro in a certain sense. Anyhow, good to see a free agent drawing attention. As for DeRick Rogers, I wish him the best outcome, and am not betting against that man.
