I agree with your assessment of both. Torrence to me has been steady in his career but far from great or elite. I would definitely think he replacement with an average G either through a higher end draft pick or mid level free agent.
I don't think h e has missed a game. Duribility is a factor not noted in this comment. Helps bring stability to the line w that ability to stay healthy. He will get paid elsewhere imho.

appears to me that Allen is being instructed not to run sometimes. He did not run once in the first half against Miami, seemed to be leashed. They are trying to make force JA into the role of pocket passer. they let him run in the second half. He needs to go when he smells an opening, and is hanging in to long. They are messing w his style. This doesn't in any way oppose the argument the the wideouts are weak as a group. shakir is fine, after that not much. Coleman is big, not fast, and unreliable. He snagged one td yesterday and had another one he couldn't get to on the deflection. Those contested balls were supposed be his thing, but that isn't working out.

Yup they meed to activate him for the next game and get some snaps. After Shakir he is the best WR on this roster.
Not clear Davis is healthy

Unfortunately, he will be gone. Economics will dictate that as cap availability will be a problem. He will get twice what the Bills can pay. Its a pleasure to see him for one season through. He has good attitude, and likes the organization. He is not going to pass on an extra 10-15 million to enjoy the Bills culture. His brother and he have been driven by their father to maximize their pro income. Nick even sat out the back end of his last college season OSU so he didn't risk injury. Folks from that culture will be dollar driven. I am not complaining, it is their right to optimize in their favor, just observing what seems to be going on. So, JB, give all you have this year. You are likely one and done here ala Terrill Owens a generation ago.

This game was an eye-opener. It was Cole Bishop’s coming out party and also showed what a boost Mad Max can bring. Bishop had 4 huge PBUs and was always in the right place. Max had the speed to stick with Worthy on an early deep ball, and obviously had a great pick. I realize there were a few “busted” coverages but as @Simon noted they are still trying to piece things together and it was obvious the communication was lacking at times.
I believe the ideal “starting five” moving forward is clearly Benford/Hairston/Taron/Bishop/Hancock, with Poyer repping in occasionally. Those guys need to play together continuously and get that communication level where it needs to be, and it could turn what has been a horrible weakness since last year into a sudden strength.
On to Miami!
I suspect Poyer is coaching on the field to help the newbies do right. That is OK, in fact, inspired thinking. Poyer is physically less than he was, but, he knows the back end of McD's defense and I understand why he is here now. I guess Hyde could have done this last year, but his physical problems were more serious I think.

Is it possible that Poyer makes him a better player?
Absolutely. Old pros teaching young pros on the field of play! In the field I worked in, we always paired an experienced guy the a newby to help them to learn to perform.

Lots of soft tissue injuries. Poor conditioning.
Yes, a change of trainers is appropriate in my view.

If Milano and Bernard can play, it will make a big difference.

2024 Rapp would be a big loss
2025 Rapp, this is the best possible thing
Hopefully whatever was wrong with his knee contributed to the decline and he'll be back to 2024 version next year ... in a depth role.
He had a two year contract. He may just be gone.

Coleman: I’m truly baffled by how such a big guy never comes back for the ball. On one of the plays where Josh threw a near-interception, Coleman went out for a shallow curl route. He stood there waiting for the ball which let the Carolina DB make a break on it. He needs to move towards the ball and box people out.
Yeh, coming back to the ball is both football and basketball sound. since Coleman has background in bb too, it is surprising he is not coached up this point. Your comment to dead on.

According to whom? Not saying that's incorrect. But there really hasn't been anything said about him since he signed almost 2 months ago.
It was reported when he signed that his knee was still not right from the prior year injury. I cannot quote source at this point as I have forgotten. I am not writing a paper here and keeping references!

Is Gabe even healthy enough to play right now?
His knee is still bad. courtesy signing to Practice squad I think. Maybe done this year....maybe available end of season.

A few decades back the Bills were just like the Browns are today. (Hank Bullough era) In those days, the Lions were the only team as bad as the Bills I think. Times change it appears.
-
Oh yeh. I also noted in the game that a lot of Bills lost their footing during play. Its like they don't practice on their home field. Oh, wait, they don't! the bulk of work is in the dome where the turf may not be like the weathered/weather modified surface that games are played on.
-
The D is the problem these days, despite holding NE to 23 points. And, how do you loose so many folks to injury in practice? Something wrong there.

The officials were atrocious. I’m still too raw about that game so I’ll leave it at that.
Yes, some of the worst officiating I have seen in many years. (a Bills fan since the 60's btw) Hasn't been that bad since the 80's imho. I gave up the NFL for a few years because the officiating was so bad back then.

Remember when Gilmore was a liability on a bad Buffalo team and a DPOY on a good Patriots team
Gilmore was avoiding contact when w the Bills his last year. He was a major liability against the run. Playing to get to free agency healthy. He played hard for the Pats and performed. I was glad to see his bad attitude go.
1 hour ago, Captain_Quint said:The NFL wanted him to be the next star and turned their head until enough media people, fans, coaches, etc talked about it. Now they are actually calling it like it happens and he acts like its some conspiracy.
Overrated from day 1.
Love that he is part of the Jets wheel of mediocrity.
The NY press needs its anointed stars. His contract was about selling tickets in NJ. He is ok, but not $30mil/season ok.

Brady had a Daboll like brain cramp on the Shikir running play on 4th down. Brought back memories........of Daboll.

A tie would hurt both teams in the playoff picture! (I think)

While Romo’s comment was spot on, I’d be interested to see if the league or network doesn’t have a word with him. He and Nantz together made that one of the worst broadcasts I’ve listened to in recent years. The announcers job is to keep eyeballs on screens…..not to make you question whether your time would be better spent cleaning the gutters.
YES, they are bad. They use all the preplanned inserts to tell "story lines". But, they don't call the game for the fans. Who got hurt...the wide reciever, didn't know his name. At least get those guys some spotters to feed them the names. Who go hurt?l NO coverage if it isn't a QB. Who subbed in? Never mentioned. The NFL broadcast are now canned in format, and must be trying to appeal to folks that are not football fans.

Maybe Atlanta/Penix

While I fully believe that -- ON AVERAGE -- that's true...
Home Field Advantage is DEFINITELY a very real thing for some teams.
The Bills were 10-0 at home last year. 3-5 on the road.
Chiefs, Ravens, Seahawks...
There are absolutely some teams in this league (and the Bills are one of them) for whom home field advantage matters. If the Bills practiced more in the cold weather, they could maximize the advantage somewhat more. Used to bwe the cold weather environment was a clear buffalo advantage. (except against other cold weather teams ) McD doesn't do much outside, spend the practice time inside installing the weeks plans. Thats ok, but really gotta do both.

I don't think Bernard is healthy, he is having trouble running. Chasing Mayfield, he was slowwww. Has had a bad ankle all season. Others are somewhat dinged too. I would not go with for the most part healthy. Look at the injury report and see who played.
