... or did somebody scoop him up/?
They are keeping Cardale?
-
So Tyrod is to blame when the offense scores points, but the D can't get off the field on 3rd down? Or Carpenter boinks the goal post? The team plays .500 ball. Yes, he failed to see or hit open receivers, but he's not the reason we missed the playoffs this year. Is he top 5-10? No. Can we win with him, obviously. QB is the most important position in all of sports, so I can't see letting the best one we've had in decades go until we know we have something better on the roster.
I wish this argument would die already....and soon we can go on to other things. Soon we will know our direction.
Dude. Tyrod isn't an NFL QB Apparently even Whaley has come to this conclusion...
-
Is it bigger than the chasm over the middle when Taylor's managing football games ?

Pretty funny...
-
Watson is a turnover machine. And inaccurate. But I'm sure all this can be fixed...
-
There are likely a half dozen "franchise" QBs who'd look lost throwing the likes of Clay, Salas, Justin Hunter, Goodwin, etc. Did Tom Brady flip a switch as a player when Troy Brown and Jabar Gaffney were replaced by Randy Moss and Wes Welker and he started breaking records?
OK. You think TT is the answer I do not.
Answer me a question: who were the 4 QB playing at the end of the season in AFC and NFC Champ. games?
I can never in my wildest dreams, ever see TT playing at anywhere near those levels: ever.
-
lol.
If true Whaleys a !@#$ing idiot..... no surprise though considering he went into a season with EJ, Thad Lewis, and Jeff Turl as his starting QBs.

Agreed. HOWEVER. This is certainly a rebuilding year, again, whether we like it or not, and why not let Cardale out there for 1 season: This years draft
is not deep at QB and next year is supposed to be better anyhow. Just a thought.
Whaley seem completely lost when selecting a QB, so maybe Whaley will be gone after yet another miss at QB.
-
Is this your first time paying attention to the NFL? QB who do OK can get amazing deals.
He NOT ok. He "not good".

+ 1 + 1

As he shouldn't. It's a great deal and he can easily get more on the open market. I don't blame him at all.
What's a great deal and how much can he easily get: from who?
-
WE (fans) do not have the necessary skills and knowledge to know a "Franchise QB" if he was staring us in the face... It's more than just stats... I'm not sure the Bills (or most other NFL FO) do either... But you have to at least TRY...
If you want to take the defeatist point of view, then nothing is gonna matter until Brady retires anyway...
We got nothing nothing out of our top two draft picks last season... Dak Prescott would have looked pretty good in the 2nd or even in the 3rd round (instead of A. Washington for example)
The draft is a crap shoot anyway you look at it... QB is THE most important position on the team... But we should ignore it again - until NEXT year??? and then we can ignore it till the year after that because maybe there will be another bunch of supposedly better QB's???
Try living in the here and the now for a change...
they don't and Whaley certainly doesn't...
-
Glad you dont do this for a living.
Curious what is your QB grade?
Not exactly sure what you disagree with. Tell you something else, I don't trade away picks to move up a few spots and get Watkins...
-
Ask Pittsburgh what THEY think of Hogan???
1. I think like many here, the grade was a bit harsh: D +
2. You can't grade a receiver on ability, only production: Watkins get a D-
3. Injuries were a given before the season started based on history: see Watkins and Goodwin.
4. This is a passing league, and the Bills ended up 31 in passing yards/game.
5. "Glass" Goodwin experiment: Done
Draft someone - please...
-
He's not a #2 let alone a legit #2. He's a good rotational guy. The Bills should have signed him for that but that doesn't mean he's better than he is. He's a piece like Amendola, Floyd, Malcolm Mitchell on a team that has 2 Pro Bowl caliber TEs. He's, at best, their 4th option when they are healthy.
Ask Pittsburgh what THEY think of Hogan???
-
Eh, bunch of nonsense really. Injuries can kill any group when you're hit like the Bills were.
The Bills are one good WR away from an excellent group. Talent wise, Watkins is a clear 1 and Woods is very good 3. Justin Hunter is solid depth and redzone WR, and if Listenbee can catch at all, his speed makes him a threat in the right situations (but obviously he's an unknown at this point).
If the Bills can get a solid #2 WR, the entire group is made better and they're a little further from disaster if the injury bugs hit.
Well, Watkins can't stay healthy. Missed 3 games 2 years ago and 8 games this year. I honestly have 0 confidence he plays a full season next year. He just had surgery again.
Where are you? I accidentally had breakfast at the San Diego Bills Backers Bar last week!
Hey!
Dana Point, and mostly Channel Islands Beach. Both north of you.
-
"Void of talent"?
Shouldn't it be "devoid of talent"?
Correct, IMO. devoid of talent OR talent void
Correct, IMO. devoid of talent OR talent void
this unit may be BOTH!!
-
So we're the linebackers and pass rush though... we knew we were gonna be a running team.
Right, but I'm looking at what I think is the weakest unit on the team I guess, and possibly the unit with the least upside and most injuries?
Whaley seems to do a great job picking up front D front 7 guys... agree?
-
actually I'm 100 yards away from the Pacific, but Troll away, from your mom's basement.
-
How could Whaley have gotten this unit SO badly wrong?
"Final Overall Grade F: This unit is void of talent and requires a complete rebuild for 2017"
http://www.billsdaily.com/gameday/index.shtml
Dump everybody except Sammy, rookie contract, and start all over.
And the problem I have is that most knew before the season started, this unit was a mess...
-
...damn the off season

How much may Gilmore have cost himself getting hurtled on national TV?

Stats dont tell tho whole story. Tyrod is a factor as to why we have the best running game and top 10 in scoring 2 years in a row, too many people forget that. He's not a world beater but hes not kapernick bad either.
True.
Look at completion %
Look at yards / game.
Look at QB rating.
The HAVE to run the ball because the can't throw.
He also is like 30th in the league in sacks I believe.
-
Check the stats:
Tyrod doesn't throw a lot of INTs, which is good but other than that he's at the bottom of most stats that one might look at.
And if Buffalo doesn't have the BEST running game in the NFL this year at 5.3 yards / carry, T.T. is not even in the discussion as being an NFL QB.
IMHO.

Although not disturbed by Rex's firing (defense went south and poor game time decisions), I think the problem starts with Whaley.
For the year, we've been hit by the spin that were a quality team without discipline. Really, what's so talented about our defense.
I don't pretend to be an expert on this or remember all the moves, so please chime in with more.
1) Drafting EJ Manuel 1st and never realizing that he's not a player... (Continuing to fail to realize that EJ has neither escapability, pocket presence, or accuracy)
2) Spending a fortune on Dareus, who barely plays
3) Doubling down on EJ by giving up multiple first round picks for Watkins
4) Getting and then keeping Karlos WIlliams (lost Fred Jackson instead)
5) Drafting Shaq with a bum shoulder
6) Percy Harvin not just once, but twice
7) Not prioritizing quarterbacks in draft picks (besides EJ)
Terrible. Hubris.
-
Drafted EJ and set the franchise back 3+ years -and what qb would you have taken ? exactly he can't make a guy be good, you pick and hope
Traded up for Sammy- I guess I'm the holdout on Watkins, get the injuries behind him, he's still just 23 years old, Ragland is older be patient on Watkins
Was involved with hiring Rex - we have no way of knowing how involved from what I've read Rex was all Pegula's and Brandon backed it
NO impact from a single player in the 2016 draft, drafted 2 injury prone players - your not drafting for one year, he was able to get two guys with first round grades this is a we'll see
entire 2013 draft will be cut from the roster once EJ leaves - Alonzo brought us McCoy, Woods is a good player but lack of qb leaves Woods in tough spot, Goodwin never developed
ignored multiple positions of need including RT, Safety, WR which cost us games this year -Kouandjio stepped in played great at tackles spot, safety we kept six signed 3 more 9 safties in one season? They all couldn't play the scheme including Graham. WR I'll agree chance to save the season make a trade for a WR plenty available, did nothing that was BS
2015 draft picks look like busts outside of Darby -John Miller will be a good player, Darby will be a good player, Karlos was on his way- we only had 2-3-5-5-6, 5 and 6's usually don't make the club
How can a GM with so many bad moves still be employed? - this team is hovering around .500 we act like were racing the browns for the first pick of the draft
Summary: FEWEST starting players drafted, in entire NFL: that can't be good.
-
Then the alarm goes off and I wake up.
+ 1 !!!
Thank you
We must still draft a QB

Yes. Correct. They have to put somebody out there, and this gives the new staff a chance to see what they have and evaluate.
IMO.
