  1. Not sure what game people were watching, but Tyrod was throwing darts over the middle of the field, hitting WR and TE. Putting a spy on him to keep him in the pocket forces the issue and also keeps LBers wide. That opens up the middle. A good complete game for our QB in those conditions.

The fact people want to run him out of town after, what, 28 starts, is crazy. QBs don't develop overnight. This is like the people who sold Amazon in 2001 because it was immature and wasn't producing earnings. You have to take a longer view in investing and in the development of QBs. Some develop early, some later.

It would be a mistake not to extend Tyrod given his development and tools (including his intelligence).

    Please select you're choice.

  2. Enough with the Glass Goodwin. You would be in a hospital bleeding from your lungs and kidneys if you took one hit from a NFL LB. He has stayed healthy other than one concussion. He will benefit from having Sammy and Robert out there today. Sammy will still be in the slot a bunch today but look for Goodwin to get a reverse and 3-4 catches today.

Well, your comments aside, Goodwin IS having a career year with 24 receptions.

Let's see what happens today with all receivers on the field.

  3. It may sound stupid to pin the decision to bring TT back on one game, but I think this is his one and last chance to prove to Pegula, Whaley, and Rex that he can be the starter. He has got to play well and be the reason they win this game. The offense is as healthy as it has been all year minus Wood. Groy is doing fine. They are at home. Pittsburgh is a very good but flawed team. Oh did I mention TT has Sammy, Robert, Goodwin, McCoy, TD Mike, and Clay all ready to play.

If TT is the reason they lose this game he is done. If TT does not play better then Big Ben he is done.

I'm not asking TT to be something he is not. I don't care if he throws for 200 and runs for 125. I don't care how he does it. Even if his only TD is a catch from EJ (yes that play will happen this week out of the WildCat) but he must win this game.

He has to be the best player on the field at the end of the game.

This is a game that every franchise QB must win. A home December game with the playoffs on the line. Every fan in that stadium must go home knowing TT won this game and they are alive for one more week.

Anything less, and he is gone.

That would be nice. I wonder if they all make it through the game...

  4.

Yeah, so why blame the receivers? When your QB is too timid to step up in the pocket and let her rip how do you expect to any receiver to have a good year statistically?

Because this group can't stay on the field. Period. And they seem to all have been playing hurt to some degree or another when they are on the field.

Watkins explained what happened. He was practicing and running full speed, and a lineman running backwards stepped on his foot and almost broke it again. They determined it wasn't broken when they saw a specialist, but another surgery may be necessary to get rid of the pain. He will be fine next year. Stop exaggerating. As I have said many times before, Julio Jones missed the same amount of time his first 3 years, and had about the same stats as Sammy Watkins.

Well I don't know what I have exaggerated. You pretty certain then that all these guys will play 16 games next year?

Also, Sammy is in a contract year next year I think, so you have even more reason to get another WR or 2 on this roster. Fast...

  5. There is no reason to think it won't get better. Someone will likely sign Robert Woods next year, but Sammy will be fine.

I do think we need to draft a starting WR, and pick up a free agent WR though.

    Actually there is.

o Clay has an issue which I have seen described as "chronic".

o Sammy missed 3 games last year and 8 games this year, AFTER having surgery. And still isn't right per the Bills.

  6. Bills need to find all 3 positions in off-season.

These number are bad (I know TT can't throw), but these group can't stay on the field and there's little reason to think

this is going to get any better next season.

  7. Skurski laid it out perfectly. I'm also tired of people saying that Whaley shouldn't be trusted to draft a QB because of the Manuel pick. Graham's suggestion that Whaley missed out on the likes of Prescott and Carr because he doesn't know QB talent is so out of line. It's not like other teams drafted them with their 1st picks. Graham's other suggestion that TT played with subpar receivers is asinine too. Alex Smith was missing his top receiver (Maclin) for a spell, but he makes it work with Hill and Kelce (who is comparable to Clay). I'm just glad Graham is a reporter and not the Bills GM

Tell me exactly "1" QB the Bills have rolled out there since Whaley took over that wasn't pathetic?

  8. Just wait unit this off season, the Bills are going to be a mess.

    1. CAP

    2. Free Agents

    3. No QB.

    And Clay/McCoy contracts...

And, the Bills won't be playing the NFC West next year.

  9. Buffalo is ranked # 28 in passes over 40 yards / game and tied for # 30 in passes over 20 yards / game:

    # 28 in total passing yards / game.

Buffalo is going nowhere until they obtain a QB who can find receivers downfield and get them the ball.

  10. ESPN: Handing out quarterback grades for every NFL team

    Grade: B

    Buffalo Bills

Tyrod Taylor is doing one thing exceptionally well for the Bills: protecting the football. Taylor has thrown only two interceptions this season and has a 4-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio, tied for fifth-best in the NFL. He also leads the league among quarterbacks with 236 rushing yards. Taylor hasn't wowed as a passer, ranking 21st in completion percentage and 26th in yards per pass attempt. But as long as the Bills are running the ball well and playing from ahead, Taylor is doing exactly what the Bills need him to do. -- Mike Rodak

    and 35th passing yards/game.

  11. Cardale isn't ready. This isn't a Goff situation and he played a fraction of the football that guys like Wentz & Prescott have played. Cardale is well known and he's certainly got tools, but I don't see much sense in playing him as there's likely little he can show in 3-4 meaningless games that will sway the decision on him being the clear starter entering next year. Either Taylor plays himself into his contract for next year over the rest of the season or we'll be looking for a QB high in the draft or in free agency.

    So Whaley took a QB in the 4th round who's a 2 - 3 year project? Brilliant.

Dak Prescott is leading the Cowboys to the Super Bowl potentially, and the Bills are developing a 4th round 3 year project QB?
