The GOP is stuck on the delusion that a bunch of left wing voters suddenly appeared and got Obama elected. Reality tells us that it was an anti-Bush backlash. People did rally around Obama, but let's face it, he is inexperienced. That probably serves to his advantage. He is being careful and doing the right things so far. Bush came in with an arrogant attitude, and did what he believed he was charged to do by the grace of God in finishing daddy's unfinished business in Iraq. The GOP has done exactly what Jack Kemp warned them against...isolating the masses and making the Republican Party a party for the select far right idealists. The Republicans don't realize that most people have gone back to the middle of the road while the Republicans want to steer right and the Democrats of course are always turning left. The Libertarians may emerge from all of this as the new party of choice, if the Dems screw things up. I personally lean right, but not as far as the whacko Fox News watching fanatics.

Peter King thinks everything apparently hinges on T.O. A safe prediction would be 7-9. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...10/may11/2.html The Bills remind me of the Orioles in the American League East. No matter what they do to improve in the offseason, they can't get over the New England hump. Even when Miami and the Jets make overtures to pass the Patriots, the Bills stay stuck down in the pack. That's why they went out and risked their season on Terrell Owens. If they've hit a home run with T.O., it might be enough to eke out nine or 10 wins against a manageable schedule. But I doubt it.

What's up with Moulds' smart mouth?
buffaloaggie replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure it's been said before about him, but it needs to be said again... NICE GUYS FINISH LAST Therein lies the legacy of Dick Jauron He has one more season (or part of) to change his legacy with the Bills -
ESPN: Bills signed Levi Jones ??
buffaloaggie replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Theory about the Seattle trip and the whole story...Jones' agent floated that hot tip about Seattle just to get NFL teams to think that others are hot for his services. Now that the dust has settled and Seattle says they have ZERO interest, his agent's phone isn't exactly ringing off the hook about his availability. Bills management is playing the waiting game. They are set on living with their current situation, but having Jones in the fold would be a huge plus. -
Very good news. Hopefully, we can refer to the non-trade as a great move one day.

ESPN: Bills signed Levi Jones ??
buffaloaggie replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy that posted the list ranker for ESPN definitely wouldn't win any spelling bees...Mike Vrabel's name is spelled Vrable. I'm sure there are more... It is funny about Levi Jones. We'll find out more in the morning. Probably a Bills fan working at ESPN that posted it -
Agreed...Buffalo would be the best place for him to step in. Like everyone's saying, it's just a matter of the Bills putting a good offer out there. I gotta think Buffalo interests him the most because he'll start.

Especially since he's going to visit the Seahawks first http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9544894...-visit-Seahawks

If I got a dog, I'd name it Sabre. I did love the post for the name "Smerlas", but you named a female dog that? It is a cool name though!

I do feel for the families who were effected by this...I doubt Jerry Jones is shedding a tear though. He's more worried about his liability and being sued. As for the company that built the facility, I think they're in big trouble. 2nd time their structures have failed. This is from ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4132947

Moment of silence for LINDA BOGDAN
buffaloaggie replied to gordong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very sad to hear this. My deepest condolences to the Bogdans, Wilsons and their extended family. -
I know it's WAY in advance, but I just wanted to start a thread about the Atlanta game on 12/27, in case anyone is planning on being in Atlanta for the game. The Billsbackers club in Atlanta is the largest outside of the state of New York. The website for the club is: http://www.billsbackersatl.com/ A block of tickets has been reserved for the game and they are available for purchase on the website using a paypal account. Other info about club happenings can be found there, and will include road trips to Nashville for the Titans game and to Charlotte for the Panthers game. Check it out and come down to Atlanta if you get sick of hanging with the family during the holidays!

I like getting a guy like Nic Harris. A safety with that size becoming a LB would have pretty good instincts for the ball. Not saying he's going to be another #54, but Brian Urlacher made that same transition from college to pro.

I Wonder Where All The Russ Brandon And The FO Sucks
buffaloaggie replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hindsight is 20/20 and now knowing how things shook out, the draft should have gone like this: 11- Oher (we are going to regret not taking an OT) 28- Wood (OL depth never hurts) 42- Everette Brown (1st round value at DE) 51- Levitre (see Wood comment) 121- Nelson (seems to be the steal of day two) If we had drafted this way, I don't think anyone would be complaining. If we could only have known the future. Personally, I still think Brandon is getting better. -
And now for something completely different
buffaloaggie replied to HopsGuy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Nice to see a little loyalty in actually keeping jobs in WNY, let alone the US. Corporations that jumped on the outsourcing bandwagon are now finally realizing that communicating in English to Indians (Dot, not feather) is very difficult. Delta Airlines has learned that lesson and moved out of India. -
Levi Jones to be released
buffaloaggie replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Smart of the Bengals to do this. They know there is interest out there and time is on their side. Yes, they are hurting Levi Jones by not letting him move on, but he still has value, and it's the Bengals right to see who will bite and offer them something in a trade. I'm not sure when there would be a cap hit but, until then the Bengals will probably sit tight. I doubt Jones will be on their opening day roster. -

Prematurely counting Kendall Simmons, I would guess. -

Levi Jones to be released
buffaloaggie replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'd fit right in with some of the current Bills... On May 29, 2005, Doss was charged with a felony weapons charge and three misdemeanor charges in Akron, Ohio after police estimated hearing five to six gunshots outside a local restaurant. Doss was sentenced to 40 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine after pleading no contest to the charges -

$3 mil is cheap, relatively speaking, for a Left OT. If he doesn't work out, I don't think we'd have much, if any, of a cap hit beyond 2009. -
Buffalo Bills 2009 draft class Best pick: DE/OLB Aaron Maybin, Penn State (First round, No. 11 overall) Worst pick: C Eric Wood, Louisville (First round, No.28 overall) Bottom line: On paper this is one of the best drafts of 2009. I would have liked to see them take an OT with one of their two first-round picks and Wood was a bit of a reach late in the first, he and G Andrew Levitre will ultimately become starters and boost what was the weakest area of the team entering the draft. Buffalo's second biggest priority was to upgrade its pass rush and that goal was accomplished by selecting Maybin, who is the best pure edge rusher in this class. Maybin will play in a rotation with Chris Kelsay and Aaron Schobel early on and will have time to get bigger and stronger. And watch out for TE Shawn Nelson, who could turn into a late-round steal.

I'd find it hard to believe that the Bills plan was to wait until the Bengals cut Jones, and then sign him. If the Bengals do cut him, for sure we should sign him because we're now desparate. I like the Bills draft, but I can't help but think it was a failure because we did not address our Offensive Tackle need.

I gotta think so
