  1. I posted a long diatribe about this several times in the past. If I can dig it up, I will post it again. It describes how the Second Amendment is an individual right. Each person of the militia was responsible for providing their own weapons. Also, the militia was not an organized army. It was, at the time, any white male landowner over the age of 17. The current administration holds that gun ownership is an individual right. The Ninth Circus thinks it is a collective right. Any case in front of the ninth circus will hold that it is a collective right and I see no way that they will overturn the SF ban. It would not be until it reaches the SC before it would have a shot at being overturned (that is assuming the SC actually has the guts to hear a Second Amendment case and I doubt it).
  2. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. IMO, neither the people nor the government can infringe on the rights of citizens to keep and bear arms.
  3. As Bill mentioned, I think that if he runs for anything, it will be a larger office than Buffalo mayor. Congress is what I have heard. He could easily win a U.S. Rep seat.
  4. I loved the press conference yesterday. His agent gets up and refuses to answer questions. Then, one reporter got ticked and asked the following, "So, what have you done for T.O. other than get him kicked off the team?" I just about drove off of the road when I heard that.
  5. You would be correct. My bad. Revised stats for 2004: McNabb: 0 of 7 Bulger: 1 of 3 I am not about to do the rest of the league. You are on your own with that.
  6. 41+ yard attempts: McNabb: 5 of 8 Bulger: 16 of 29
  7. Linky Thingy
  8. Yup. It has been cleared.
  9. So, write in another name? Protest votes can make a difference. Strom Thurmond won his first U.S. Senate primary on write-in votes. Cross-filing is very common in local politics. You will see the same two people running as both Reps and Dems in the same primary. The hope is to win at least one of the nominations for the general election. You may be a registered Dem, but win the primary as a Rep and be on the ballot as a Rep. If you win both, then you are unopposed in the general election. ...and don't even get me started on the unconstitutional fusion laws here in PA.
  10. Judge of Elections and Inspector of Elections (hopefully winning one of them). I will let you know the results on Wednesday.
  11. Shouldn't this be on PPP? Since I am running for office, you can count on me voting.
  12. Nice job with the photos. People keep saying that I should send my photos out to see if I could get them published. It has been a while since I did much with that hobby. I will have to get back into it.
  13. Not AQ. <Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take it" playing in the background> The deer are finally fed up and are fighting back. Hunter's beware!!
  14. I love the new avatar.
  15. I just finished reading Boortz/Linder's book on this and I am very impressed. I think they need to work on how they impliment the prebate part of it, though. Otherwise, I fully support this plan.
  16. I would have to read the actual proposal, but from what I see here this plan is ridiculous. You cannot have a half-azzed approach to reforming the tax code. If you are going to do it, do it right. If you are going to simplify it, simplify it in such a way as to prevent it from getting more complex again in the future. This will never make it into law.
  17. He is taking away from 24/7 coverage of Plamegate.
  18. I disagree. If he did not nominate someone, the media would be stating, "He is too distracted by the indictment and the Rove allegations to effectively do his job...blah...blah...blah..." Remember, we are in a 24/7 news cycle and they are looking for something to talk about. If they cannot find anything, they will just make stuff up to talk about. Reporters will pester Bush on a daily basis on why he hasn't filled the vacancy on the court. He is still in hot water. I am guessing that Fitzgerald is waiting for the next grand jury session in order to continue his work looking into Rove. Rove is not benefiting at all. The Dems (namely Ried) have been pressing Bush to fire Rove, even though no indictments were brought against him and he has not been found guilty of anything in a court of law. It looks like more of the "guilty until proven innocent" stuff from Ried.
  19. I guess my tinfoil hat is not on tightly enough. The grand jury session is done. You could also look at it differently. You could look at it that he waited until the grand jury session was completed before announcing his nomination, so as to not distract from said grand jury. If Bush did not nominate someone, then the media would be focused on why he has not nominated someone. Damned if you do...damned if you don't...
  20. So, he didn't nominate this person because there is an actual vacancy on the court. He did it to con the public and distract the media?
  21. Do you always need to resort to slander?
  22. So, he only willfully broke the law because he thought he could get away with it?
  23. There is no question he goes more conservative. He listened to Harry Ried on the last nomination and got crucified. He will go back to getting a nominee that plays well with the base.
