Good calls Lori---I think Saban goes to Bama and Mularkey becomes head coach--this is the dream of an overwrought Bills fan
-
The Bills enter the offseason with some potential long term stability at the Head Coaching position. When your owner publicly states that the current coach is up there with his Hall of Fame favorite coach--its pretty rock solid...other teams aren't so solid...here's some speculation: Atlanta--its not often that your head coach "jokes" on live radio about his love for another job--combine that with a very disappointing season and Jim Mora, Jr. joins the unemployment line...Wade Phillips gets a strong look here believe it or not...so do Mike Sherman and Mike Tice....and possibly Bill Cowher New York G-Men--Coughlin wins his way but often finds himself at odds with management about his way--Tom will be gone--we may all be very surprised who emerges as a candidate for this one--Let's just say there's a certain ex-Giants team receptionist that has a vexing spell over a current head coach in our division....The G-men go hard after Belichick and offer the moon, sun and stars to Kraft to get him and this year's model of receptionist to the hoodie to further entice God's coach..if Kraft agrees to a deal to release Belichick--then he has Pete Carroll and Charlie Wies on speed dial Arizona-Forgone conclusion that Denny Green is gone--does Pete Carroll reunite with Leinart...hmmm--probably not--but Simon's prediction of a Donahoe regime may not be far off--if Fox gets the can in Carolina -- TD won't make the same mistake twice Tampa-Gruden gets another year Oakland-Al Davis and reality met once back in the 80's -- they didn't like each other very much -- the voices in Al's head are saying keep Art.. Carolina--shockingly the locals are after John Fox--the year was disappointing--but injuries and Jake DelHomme realizing he was -- well Jake Delhomme after 2 years of great QB play doomed this team...Keep Fox -- bring in a Matt Schaub and watch this team win 12 next year... Cleveland-Where for art thou Romeo gets the boot--Brian Schottenheimer may get a call here as the Browns look for an offensive mind Pittsburgh-Cowher "retires" turning down a below market offer from the Rooney's -- Grimm or Whisenhunt get the call -- Mularkey's cell phone does not ring All pure speculation--add your own....

Far be it from me to argue the merits of Napolean Harris--he has been labeled underacheiver due to his draft position. He does however have 3 INT's this year playing much of the season with his wrist in a cast...they allow E J Henderson to roam while Harris takes care of a lot of the dirty work (Staying at home on the run and coverage)... We aren't talking about a mega free agent deal but something in the mold of the free agent deals the Bills signed folks to last year...We aren't going to get flawless players for $2 million-$6 Million signing bonuses and 3-6 year contracts..it doesn't work that way anymore....I hope everyone goes into the offseason realizing that Ralph's/Marv's entire budget for signing bonuses is probably less than what Clements will demand on his own... Here's his Scouts, Inc. profile--shows the good and the bad... Harris is athletic, has good range and excels in space. He has played inside and outside, and in both 4-3 and 3-4 schemes. He can play sideline to sideline and is an outstanding blitzer. He slips blocks and makes plays on the move. He uses his hands effectively to protect his body and get through trash. He holds up well against the run. He has good strength and power at the point of attack and can take on tight end blocks. He has adequate skills and plenty of athleticism to handle himself in coverage. He has the tools to turn and run with backs and tight ends and get good depth on zone drops. But Harris lacks ideal instincts and hasnt yet lived up to expectations. He probably has been hurt by switching positions and schemes so often. He takes questionable angles to the ball. He sometimes has trouble getting off blocks. He wont consistently locate the ball and make the plays his athleticism suggests he should.

Vikings appear to be set for an off-season purge. Article in the Star-Tribune (Minneapolis) said Smoot, Wiggins, Brad Johnson, Napolean Harris all may be on the outs... Harris may be the one of most interest..still young, smart, decent in coverage and good size.... http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302200

I was just about to hit the "buy" button on two Southwest RT tickets from Raleigh...the board just saved me $450 (minus $75 in gas money)....I guess its a good time to ask for donations again SDS....

Holy sh----Randy McMichael can catch and get two feet in bounds in the end zone....so he's a wife beater--trade for him anyway..

I will be very disappointed if this team lays down. I just don't think that a run for the bus is in these guys..I would expect to see Youboty get some significant playing time--better see what he has now... We are making the trip from Raleigh (with my 12 year old Daughter who has the Bills disease) --- just have to get that last dose of Bills Football...how long until the draft???

Thoughts and prayers to the Capers family. Ironic that the Defensive Coordinator's mother is buried in the same city where the Dolphin 2006 playoff hopes were buried.... (I know I crossed the line )

Flu Bug Making Its Way Through The Team
JoeF replied to Alaska Darin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody, and I mean nobody, circles the toilet bowl like the Buffalo Bills with the Flu... Its only Wednesday--hopefully a minor irritant rather than a full blown outbreak. Willis pukes at the drop of a hat--hope he doesn't get it...Hey Keith Bulluck --- -
The only issue was that Roscoe picked that time to have a total brain fart....and almost made it work for them...

The Fairchild article regarding JP's maturing process is worth the read. The hard and conservative coaching has been a little maddening--not using JP's mobility; lack of audibles; running into halftime with timeouts still left----but you can't argue with progress and JP has made significant progress.. Here are the last 4 paragraphs of the article: That's why Losman lobbies with Fairchild to open the playbook up a little more each week to give him more varied ways in which to succeed on the field. "We've come a long way," Losman said. "I'm trying to scratch and fight (with Fairchild) to throw it a little bit more and earn that coach's confidence in his players. It's hard to (convince) him. He's going to do his thing. We can suggest certain things and Turk (Schonert) can suggest some things, but it's his show." And Fairchild would prefer to keep his show on track, which means staying the course in light of the steady improvement he's getting from Losman. "I've been very hard on him since the beginning," said Fairchild of Losman. "Obviously he's made progress. We're doing a little more in the red zone and it shows and we're doing a little more on third down and it shows. But it's still a process. Unfortunately it's taken longer than all of us would like, but to make the right progress this is the way we're doing it."

"If you beat the Bills, you beat the whole city"
JoeF replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One more bump-- He never again has to worry about the safety of his family in Buffalo. If he keeps his current job and continues to perform at this level--Coach Mularkey may be given the key to the city..... Triple reverse flea flicker statue of liberty bomb on three...oh I forgot Joey is the QB -- triple reverse flea flicker statue of liberty 5 yard out on three... -

In related news, Senator Hillary Clinton shocked political pundits today by naming a running mate 15 months before the first Presidential Primary and more than a year and a half prior to the Democratic convention. Lorenatishka Bobbitushka of Sterlitamak, Russia was tabbed as Senator Clinton's running mate. Mrs. Clinton cited citizenship and undisclosed legal issues as the reason for the early commitment to Ms. Bobbitushka. Mrs. Clinton stressed "keeping husband Bill in-line" as a major consideration in selecting Ms. Bobbitushka. -

I think the Dolphins signing Shane Matthews sucked away Jauron's only other alternative-- so why not announce.... (addendum for those with recessive sarcasm genes ) Does anyone really believe that JP hasn't earned this? What games have you been watching? You want to draft another freaking rookie or sign Aaron Brooks or some other schlub? I still don't see the fascination with Nall -- other than the normal back-up QB envy. Who cares when they announce the commitment to JP? I guess some just love uncertainty and instability...sorry--the better part of 10 years of that at QB is enough for me...
-
Still mad that he makes his family sit out and the cold at games and forces juvenile delinquents to pander to news photographers by holding up his picture. Damn arrogance -- that's all it is.... (For those with recessive sarcasm genes) Like any QB he will have great, good and bad games--but he is accurate, throws a beautiful deep ball and has tempered his "I must do this alone" mentality....he deserves this...Congratulations JP--now lead us to a Championship...

Exactly or if we even had a strategy...
