So that's why Harvard's better than Ole Miss. Oxford Mississippi isn't The real Oxford.

Should Buddy Nix try and trade for Drew Brees?
JoeF replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the opportunity is presented -- you have to at least explore it. If it even leaked that he was on the block, there would be riots in the streets in NO. No way they even explore this with the current state of the Franchise--they have to pay the man. -

This is well deserved if its true -- the guy is a beast.

Rumor is that it is Freddie. 2 year extension with $8M guaranteed and the chance to make more with incentives.

Meant an up front signing bonus of $8M. They certainly could guarantee some of the salary in 2013 and 2014 as March 1st payments. I wouldn't object to that at all. Maybe $1.5M guaranteed at the start of each new NFL year (around March 1st) for 2013 and 2014. That would mean $11M guaranteed in today's terminology I guess. -

Extend the existing deal, which pays him about $1.9M for this year for 2 more years -- give him a $8M guaranteed plus $3.8M in base in 2013 and $4.2M in base in 2014. He and his agent call it a 3 year, $16M extension with a total value of 3 years $17.9M including this years base. He makes more than CJ. He earns as much guaranteed money as his entire previous extension he signed in 2008 (4 years, $7.5M) and we still have some money to play with the get one of Byrd or Levitre done before the season. This makes everyone happy. Fred does not have a huge amount of wear and tear and he has proven time and again he is uncanny at following blocks, making moves in open space, picking up the blitz and catching the ball. He is the lighter fluid on our offensive charcoal. This rewards him in a fitting manner. -
Nice job Mark. If I were giving you a movie review it would be a huge thumbs up.

Figured I would bring this up...not really relevant to TJ's football skills--but TJ's dad is Trevor Graham the Track Coach of BALCO fame. TJ was raised to be a sprinter and has been around athletes like Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, etc. all his life. Trevor was a world class sprinter from Jamaica. Trevor has done his best to shield TJ from the scandals which have enveloped him. There is really no point here. I know Trevor a bit from a past life -- and while I don't agree at all with his cheating and supplying athletes with PEDs -- Trevor has helped raise a good kid in TJ. TJ has never taken talent for granted even though he was blessed and easily could have accomplished things like a 100M/200m State championship without working hard. TJ works with his dad almost every day now and after having a distant relationship for a while the two now are closer than they have ever been. Dad has been humbled a bit by his experiences the last decade and TJ will work like heck to succeed--that's the biggest thing father gave son.

You are on a roll today you Fugger

The last 12 years the Bills roster and front office has been populated by several of Tim's relatives. Most of them have had the first names Stupid, Dumb, No-talent....

I would be from the gaseous generation of which you speak. RIP Mr. Clark....from generations of teeny boppers you led and inspired.

Most GM's who would draft Claiborne are on bad teams with little job security. Most owners would not want to invest a top tier pick in a kid with a 4. Owners pay the GM. Fans put pressure on the team to perform (unless you are a Bills fan). The leaking of this puts pressure on a thin ice GM not to risk this pick because the owner and fans will say--"How could you draft a kid who scored a four?" if Claiborne is a bust. Yes it will impact where he is drafted...not for football reasons but by owner and fan pressure for GM's whose job security is tenative. Just my opinion.
-
Not out of the realm that a team in the in the back half of the top 10 leaked this to see him drop to them. This is a cut throat business and a race for talent. Claiborne has lots of skill at a highly coveted position.

He got stuck on this question: What can run but can't walk? He couldn't decide between diarrhea and DC Tom's mouth but the answer the testers were looking for was water.

I know the scenario is not probable as some have pointed out -- but the draft going like this is at least possible: 1) IND - Luck 2) WAS- RG3 3) MN - Kalil 4) CLE- Claiborne 5) TAM - Richardson 6) STL - Poe 7) JAX - Ingram - want a versatile pass rusher 8) MIA - Probably Tannehill -- but could be Couples if Jax starts the run on rushers which are premium 9) CAR- Cox Even with this -- 4 of the 5 are possible.
-
Yep--Philly would have to add #114 and the bills add a 7th rounder to get this done in an equitable manner. I focused on the upper round picks....
-
I say Helloooo Philly......thinking one of the above will fall to #15... Reasoning: Blackmon and Floyd are not field stretchers and Hill or Randle are probably a better fit for what we need. You trade back into the lower first round with 41 and our first fourth and first fifth to get Hill or Randle and then use the second round pick to get Cousins. You end up with a good T at 15; a stretch the field receiver and a QB to groom.
