Steve Christie showed up at our tailgate in San Diego (the Johnson/Flutie game) and that was 2 weeks after he was cut!

I know, but I figured it would be full by then - it's always the first to fill up. And past experience tells me that even if I did get into the lot, we would be so far from everyone else that it wouldn't be practical to bring the tailgate stuff down.

Didn't get on the road as early as I wanted to (which pretty much always happens). Left Roch at 2:35. Traffic was BRUTAL. Pulled into Lot 3 at about 4:10. Started getting stuff out for tailgate. Forgot my son's football which pissed him off. The new bottle of propane wouldn't work so we couldn't grill. Then the rain started. It passed rather quickly tho, we borrowed a football from the people next to us as they ate, and we got $1 hot dogs at the game. All was well. My daughter was over-tired and a nightmare. A guy in the row in front of us leaned over and puked early in the 3rd quarter. Wife/daughter/M_I_L left as the 4th quarter started to hopefully get my daughter to sleep in the van. NOPE! Couldn't get right on thruway - had to get gas. Lots of spray on the thruway had people going slow. For some reason there was a 3 mile bumper-to-bumper backup to get off at the Leroy exit. Kids finally fell asleep in the van but my daughter kept waking up screaching. Got home - power was out. It came back on about 3 minutes after I called RG&E. Good news - it went out at 9:14 - so the whole game got taped. Oh yeah - we won!

Sully's Stadium Sports Wear. It's near the 7-11 at the corner of Southwestern & Milestrip I think. Mention TBD or Hammer and you get a discount IIRC.

We're leaving Roch at about 2PM.

I for one will not change what I do "just in case". You could apply that to anything - "what if they blow up a mall" or "what if they blow up a plane". You'd never shop or travel. Sorry, but I refuse to live my life that way.

I drive Rochester to Cleveland in 4 hrs. Too bad there are only 2 more days of camp here this year.

The problem with WGR, IMHO, is that they've cultivated this atmosphere of opposition. None of the hosts could cut it on their own, so they've paired everyone up and told them to take different sides of whatever they're discussing. THis way there's always an argument and listeners can always agree with / disagree with one of them. However, they've carried this over to their dealings with just about everyone, trying to force an argument. They've taken on the personality (using that term very loosely) of Jerry Sullivan. You know what else pi$$es me off about WGR - after each news segment they do at least 8 freaking minutes of commercials! I haven't quite figured out why having less of talk shows I don't like is a bad thing, but it is . I think I just have to stop listening.

It's responding well to treatment.

Pretty well attended. I got in line at 5:40 and finally got signed at 6:15. There were still 20 or so people behind me. They passed around post-it notes so you could write down who you wanted the autograph made out to. I considered putting "EBay Bidder" as a joke but decided not to. I told him the story about how my brother and I got back to our hotel in Minneapolis after dinner the night before SB XXVI and he was the first person I saw in the lobby. He said "Oh yeah, the super secret hotel". He didn't write anything of note in my book, just "To Jay, Marv Levy" Still, it was very cool to meet the legend. That voice is unmistakeable.
