People are acting like contingency plans aren't a thing. He said the Bills have a Plan A to get Cousins and a slew of other options in case that fails. Nothing wrong with that. We can't confirm or refute any of it yet, and may never, but saying that this guy is covering his ass in case he's wrong seems to not understand that the Bills have to cover their's in case their Plan A isn't available anymore.

Pretty clear the picks would be traded for Reggie Ragland.

Not trying to single you out specifically but to this point and to all others' points who are being needlessly hostile toward a guy who is sharing interesting stuff because it can't be confirmed: None of this can possibly be known 100% at this point, except the stadium location which he is still keeping under wraps. Teams have to have multiple contingency plans for multiple positions always. It's not like he is just saying "we will or won't go for Cousins." He is is saying "the Bills WILL go for Cousins unless he is franchised tagged again." Doesn't mean we will 100% get him, but we will try. If we don't get him, we need another plan. Lots of things are still up in the air and none of it is absolutely crazy. Why can't we have some fun discussing these possibilities and give the guy benefit of the doubt for now? How is that not more fun than just waiting for the offseason news to break?

Assuming the Ravens win out with their easy schedule: Looks like if the Chargers lose to KC and then win out AND the Titans beat either the Rams or 49ers but lose to the Jags we would win the three-way tie there. In that same situation except the Chargers beat KC, KC has the tiebreaker in the three-way tie there. If the Titans lose out, we would obviously have the head-to-head over the Chiefs. Hard to say which scenario is preferable right now, but we are looking for either Tennessee to lose and the Chiefs win or Tennessee wins and the Chiefs lose. Otherwise we'll need the Ravens to lose to either the Colts or Bengals to kick the three-way tiebreakers back in. However in no practical scenario can the Titans beat the Jags. Don't think they can anyhow.

Transition tag only allows them to match. No compensation though. Would be worth attempting and if nothing works out we can still draft a guy.

Agreed. Fumble was bad, but it was on a great run. I don't know how in all these years in the league he still doesn't properly secure the ball. The outside runs, screen, etc. To Tolbert are most baffling. With both he and Cadet available for the first time next week (not counting this one on account of the weather) I am curious to see who gets what calls.

Lots on 9-7 scenarios get us in. Gotta take care of our own business and hope the pieces fall the right way

I'm seeing several scenarios where the Chiefs take the division and the Chargers lose tiebreakers at 9-7. Also seeing scenarios with Chargers winning the division, Titans beating Jacksonville, Baltimore winning out, etc. Basically we just need to beat the Fins both times - and truly this is the biggest hurdle for us - and a lot of scenarios will get us in.
