2003 ESPN the Magazine article on JP Losman
mary owen replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
good read. I'm ready for the JP era. I'm even ready for the lumps of a rookie in the big leagues. Better now than next year. Hell, our 12 year vet is still taking his lumps this year. -
what are you talking about? we're well on our way to 10-6

thanks for the replies guys. One thing that makes this difficult is this: Oct 26 Moore will remain the starter at running back this week over Michael Bennett, and there's a possibility he could keep the job even when Onterrio Smith comes back, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. Recommendation: "If it ain't broke," coach Mike Tice said, "don't fix it." Michael Bennett will likely see some action returning kicks this week, but might not take many carries away from Moore. (Rotowire.com) To me, sounds like Tice likes him in there. ALSO, after doing a bit of research on Moore, he has caught 26 passes in 5 games. That's tied for the team lead with Randy Moss. Tough decision for me, considering I need help at WR.

i know I'm late getting at this, but I drew #2 (out of 12) at our live draft. The #1 pick was.......drum roll please...........Mike Vick. He did this with a straight face....he yells "Yeah Baby! Mike Vick!!!!" I thanked him and ran up to scribble Holmes up there, laughing as I did it, and the #3 guy yells at me "Stay there! Put down Thomlinson for me please." The fastest 1st round of our league EVER. I'm telling you, I was smiling the whole night. and yes, this is a RB friendly league.

ALSO, Duece has a bye this week. Portis is coming off his.

i say go for it. Deuce is coming off injury and is not 100%. So says coach Haslett. Harrison (who I had last year) get's great marathon games, but teams place priority defending him, and the Stokely's and Wayne's get the better games. I have Akers and the guy is averaging over 10 points a game. that's consisitency in a Fantasy kicker. He leads the league in points at 63. do it.

FA RB's are slim at this point of the FF season, so I just got Blaylock for the league minimum. Trust me, there's NO ONE else out there. I had Larry Johnson as my insurance back, so it just made sense to me to get rid of him and replace him w/ Blaylock. I read that Tice really likes Moore and that he said "If it aint broke, ....." when asked if Ontarrio or Bennett would unseat him when either returns.

here are my RB's and WR's: Priest Holmes Fred Taylor Mewelde Moore Derrick Blaylock Julius Jones on IR Drew Bennett Joe Horn Chris Chambers Keary Colbert I can only start 2 RB's and 3 WR's, so I often have a tough decision between Moore and Taylor. I was offered Roy Williams (Det WR - ankle sprain) straight up for Taylor (quadricepts). Scoring is the same for RB's and WR's. TD's and yards. what do you all think?

well if we do have the dumbest team in the league, it all starts with our QB. finger pointing like this will get your Offense (particularly the O-line) to completely lose respect for you: "I will tell you that in looking at my own play, here is the situation, being completely honest with you," Bledsoe said. "I am the quarterback of a team that's a power-running team. Yet we have not run for a touchdown through six games. "I'm in a situation where we've made a great emphasis to get back and get the ball off more quickly, yet I've still been hit as much as anybody in the league "The most frustrating part for me comes when the hits on the quarterback and the lack of production in the running game come not from physical breakdowns but from mental mistakes. What it takes to fix that, I've been searching for the last six weeks."

i've seen some crazy a$$ stevestojan in the 29 years that I've been watching professional football. One thing that almost always holds true is that extra effort pays off. You say Willis knew he wouldn't cath him? How about trying? Hell Moulds caught up to him, maybe he can knock the ball out. Wouldn't it be nice to be in position to recover a fumble???? It CAN happen, but you won't find out without trying. WTF? I was not looking for any show from him, I want to see effort. Good things come from effort. You also say he did it to avoid injury, HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS? and I can't say the same thing about the O-Linemen. They don't have the tools that Willis has in the way of speed.
-
risk? might as well not even practice, the risk is too great. gimme a break man. NEVER give up on a play. What, his talents and hammy/knee are above the team??? Moulds caught the guy, why couldn't Willis at least try? Even if for Pride, go all out. The eyes of the fans are upon you. Hey, I like Willis too. But if they showed a similar clip of Cory Dillon, no one here would cut him some slack.

Last known FACTS re: Shane Matthews
mary owen replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if what you say is true, than ToDo (Donohoe) is a bigger dummy than I already think he is. Because, you see, by KEEPING Drew in there, he's risking his job. He's already made himself look bad as a GM. The GM that can adjust and own up to mistakes is the guy who sticks around longer and is more successful. But I can certainly see why MM would take the approach you describe. -

also, Mike Williams was a 1st round pick as well, but that didn't stop Mularky from benching him. Remember how much praise our new coach got for doing that? seems like a long time ago. -

I'd be willing to wager a good deal of my paycheck that Shane would have a better game than Drew has all year. just call it a feeling.
