  1. Perhaps I'm mistaken here, but I thought "In" meant the poster believed the thread would be closed (because the topic was being discussed elsewhere---or whatever) and got his/her post in before the lockdown. Have I been wrong this entire time. And I posted in this Godforsaken thread again, Even after another stiff bourbon. Maybe I should switch to tequila.
  2. I'd say most people have those options. But a journalist, who uses social media as an outlet for his/her job, should be a bit more judicious with how they use that outlet. Even professional athletes are finding their social media rants come back to haunt them, and they have zero professional responsibility to be decent, fair and able to communicate in a professional manner. But their employers are protective of the company image and take it seriously when their employees damage it with poorly thought out rants. Tim has the dual responsibility of being a journalist (who uses that very media as a professional outlet) and the reputation of his employer. Perhaps Tim should have a professional persona, and one where he can be dickish with haters. But should he respond with his "work" persona, he should either take your option #1 or, better yet, have an intelligent dialogue with his critics---in the cases where that is possible. I admit it may not be for some---then he should resort to option #1. And, you know, it would't be the worst thing for Tim to, perhaps, admit he made a mistake in this instance. A little humility can go a long way.
  3. They have no case...as you can see they didn't bother to post. WTF am I doing still posting in this horrible tread? What the hell is wrong with me. I should poor myself a drink and get out of here.
  4. Couldn't hurt? If he's on the team an actual NFL player is not. Of course it can hurt. I can't believe I got sucked into posting in this thread.
  5. Nice. I never saw this.
  6. Anyway you look at it, that's one big ass hoe.
  7. Bill, you know I respect you, but you are completely missing the point of this thread. It has nothing to do with defending Whaley, as he really doesn't need our defense. What in hell are you talking about? Properly framed and sourced, a journalist can report what a source tells him/her. As long as they are careful about how they report it. I think it's pretty clear, TG was extremely cavalier about a very inflammatory accusation.
  8. Couldn't you use a backhoe to make a nice little road on your property?
  9. My recollection of the reports early in camp was, every QB stunk.
  10. Niagara Falls, too, unfortunately.
  11. I like Megahand. I just thought they would both make it, and someone else would get cut. Can't think of who that was, til i look at a roster. But Red looked real good against the run. 'Splains it. I thought they could keep Red at 53.
  12. Sure, if we replace Gay and Carpenter---and he hasn't regressed this offseason.
  13. Red Bryant? WTF?
  14. Not to make too fine a point about this, but.... Sources are protected by journalistic ethics. Even if there were no laws to that effect, a journalist is expected to keep his/her sources private, if they so request. It just so happens the law currently backs up these ethics. But a source's information doesn't' simply get passed from the journalist to the public without some vetting and analysis. The journalist shouldn't allow him/herself to be used as the puppet of a source. I think that much is obvious.
  15. You realize the Bills have that guy in EJ, right?
  16. Is hot pink the color of the crane you use?
  17. Desperate times in the Southern Tier. These women are in their 30's? Gotta be meth/crack pollution.
  18. Chip says he will sign another QB. They will have 3 QBs. Maybe all on the roster. Maybe one on PS> Don't think Timmy is Catholic.
  19. What were you pulling?
  20. Wow, this hasn't been mentioned in any other thread. I agree. Nothing to see here. Let Tebow fade away.
  21. Astro---Great Post. But I beg you, a little white space, please.
  22. But how much can a Scotsman be expected to pay?
  23. I don't think there is much Meh Love out here. There seem to be those who want an experienced QB, who might steady the offense. if it all goes off the rails, by being a game-manager who can complete a decent % of his (mostly shorter) passes. And be counted on to not totally screw the pooch. Tebow is the exact opposite of what you are looking for if that's what you covet in a backup QB. I admit I thought they had to keep Cassel, as the past two years we have seen what it's like not to have some experience at the QB position. Last year, the Bills had to (or decided to) go get Orton after the season started. I figured it was probably a good idea to have a gameday #2 like Cassel, as he is a guy who probably can get by with fewer reps during the week, and still be OK should TT go down. In the event TT was to miss games, I think EJ is the starter (in my mind) with Cassel still playing that #2 QB role. I still think that is the best option. But if they decide to cut Cassel for the $$---and then get one of the priorities signed--I'm fine with that. But Tebow? Really. There is no place for him, at any price, on the roster.
