  1. In case you haven't heard, there is an astounding new Monk/Coltrane CD from a live performance at Carnegie Hall in 1957. Unreleased until this year, it was recently discovered on a tape at the Library of Congress.

Lemme give a quick review: WOW! WOW! Holy freakin' s#it! WOW!

For those who like this sort of thing, there are two complete tracks and a very interesting promotional video at this site:

Enjoy the sweet sound of MUSIC. Check it out!

  2. Riggins asked him when JP would get playing time.  Mularkey said that he could see JP going into situations where the offense is getting a little flat.  He thought there was an opportunity in the Miami game to do that, but he didn't think of it at the time.

Comments like the one above that, to me, are really refreshing coming from a head coach. BUT...people are going to jump on his s#it for saying stuf like that. In truth EVERY coach makes mistakes, forgets things, etc. But, rarely will they admit to them publicly.

With that said...Try to pay attention this game, Mike. K?

  3. He's a real no-nonsense coach! What the hell is that supposed to mean? As far as I can tell, it means, "He's a douchebag!"

What I'd really like to know is, what's a "nonsense coach"? (I know..."Mike Mularkey"...save it!) That must be a football coach that uses baseballs and makes the OL line up backwards and then they all play duck-duck-goose. It would make for a good Monty Python skit, no?

Then, of course there's the dreaded "Players' Coach" (Or is it "Player's Coach"?...I guess that's if only one guy likes him.) I sense that the Players' Coach is the opposite of a No-Nonsense coach. But, shouldn't there be Owner's Coaches and General Managers Coaches? (or Director of Player Personnel Coaches?)

I think my favorite are the Groundskeepers' Coaches. "Dan is a real groundskeepers' coach Jim." "That's right Bill, the field always looks good when his team is finished with practice. The groundskeepers have a much easier time getting ready for game day. That takes real discipline, I tell ya."

Yikes...it must be Friday afternoon. The Dean needs a cocktail!

  4. I wasn't taking a shot at her at all. My main point was "who cares". But I have also seen people get tossed.

The thing about "respect" around here is funny. Apparently, Lori deserves a whole ton of it (and believe me, I'm not saying she doesn't). But when everyone says "thou must respect Lori" you are basically saying there are alot of other people that CAN be disrespected without any resprocussion (and it happens every day). No, I am not saying I am one of those people whom deserve respect. But why shouldn't the same rules apply to respecting, oh say, Fezmid, duey, AussieW, Poojer, etc, etc.

I'm 100% for always treading softly when dealing with Lori, as many members (rightfully so) respect her. But just because many people know her well enough to show her that respect, does that not mean that others (who aren't known as 'real people' outside of TBD)  aren't deserving of the same defense that she is?

I could crap on an entire "Losman/Holcomb" thread with how much Fezmid is a moron, and rarely will anything happen. Does he not deserve the same "respect"?

(Sorry Fez, for using you as an example).

Now, off to View Lori's thread 150 times so the point of this thread is made moot.

WOW...now I'm confused! To my knowledge nobody has been banned for disagreeing with and/or being direspectful to Lori. Yo have to a LOT more than disagree of be disrespectful to get banned...and when you do something "ban worthy" it doesn't matter who else was involved: Lori, Bill in NYC, me, or Fezmid. (OK..maybe not me.)

As for "who cares?". You cared enough to post!

  5. Legitimate chiros will do your body more good in regards to back, bone and muscle problems than actual doctors. Legimate chiros have to go to school for just as long as actual doctors.

Personally, I went to one for two reasons, a back and wrist injury from hockey. Both feel much better after a visit to the chiro. I had surgery on my broken wrist a few years back and when the weather gets bad, the pain is rough. However, my chiro "readjusts" it and it's good for a while.

The thing is, DOs do it all!

  6. Perhaps Fezmid doesn't look all that Islamic.

  7. I have mixed feeling about this story. Living here with the yinzers makes you apprieciate normal fans: my God, the Steelers were 19-3 in their last 22 going into this game. Would'nt we all be pretty happy with that - but not the Stiller fans. If they wanted to be pissed at someone it should have been Rothlisburger after his meltdown in the AFC title game, but no, he is the golden child in this town.

However, Maddox did not handle the situation very well, he blamed everything (the wind) and everyone (the center, the fullback and the WR) for his failure.

But that was no excuse for the garbage thrown on his lawn or the tuanting his kids took.

Yunz going to the game?

    My mom's from Monessen.
