1. I think you've got a point here.  Most players past 30 are going to decline rapidly, and that may explain much of the disasterous slide of the defense.  I don't think I'd bench all of these guys, but it might be time to take our lumps with a youth movement.

Actually, TD does a pretty good job of this...due to his basic nature to not overpay aging vets. With that said, I agree that several of these guys are among the best on the team and you don't bench your best players, regardless of age.

This man's plan is, of course, sarcastic or just plain over simplistic.

What's up Doc? Any new books out?

  2. who proclaims self-greatness.  Enough is enough.  It's up to the coach to reign in this type of behavior.  Yes, I know that you can probably put a big, fat 'L' in the Win-Loss column while your star players ride the pine, but something has to be done.  It should have been done weeks ago with the defense and definitely last week with the RB.  It's the coach's job to control this stuff and to stand up to this nonsense.

Bench 'em all! Who cares how they play? Let's make our playing decisions based, primarily, on off-field statements and behavior.

    Good plan!

My question is: How is it you know the results of all the games EXCEPT for the Pats game? :)

  4. Methinks you just wanted to say those things and had to veil them in a manner that did not make you look like a racist.  Instead, you just look like an a$$.

    486434

I'm not sure what the hell that means...but my point is being proven, I think. Don't you?

  5. I don't know if this was posted or not, but there was an article in the LA Times regarding the Saints situation.  The quote was a little unnerving, but here it is:

Amid renewed uncertainties over the future of the New Orleans Saints, NFL and Los Angeles-area officials on Monday sought to downplay the possibility the franchise might relocate to Southern California. The San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings are among possible candidates for a move to the Los Angeles area.

    -- Los Angeles Times

Nothing to substantiate this, but still it didn't make me feel so good.

    486160

The only teams on that list in serious danger of moving are the Saints and the Vikes. Pay it no never-mind.

  6. No argument there, but why are people unable to limit it to 4 or 5 threads?  Doesn't matter if I agree or don't agree on a given topic, but seeing the same thing regurgitated in thread after thread over and over and over and over and over again can get a little old.

    Just my opinion...

EDIT: I don't specifically mean this thread per se, because it does introduce the blog, but at the same time, it wouldn't have been totally out of place posted within one of the 12 "TD BAD" threads already here either.

While I agree with almost everything you said here ("TSW, All TD Bashing All the Time")...I'm glad this was posted in a separate thread, as I usually pass over the "TD Sucks"/"Fire TD" threads...so I would have missed this. And this was pretty funny...dontcha think?

  7. I think if Losman-lovers were being objective, they would realize, while not perfect, Kelly Holcomb played pretty damn well against the Raiders.

    486269

I agree that KH wasn't TERRIBLE...but he didn't bring too much to the party. I blame the play calling...but, I usually do.

With that said, I'd hope all JP bashers would be objective and note that he actually didn't play too poorly in his last start. I watched that game pretty carefully and from what I saw, his passing was way more accurate than it had been, He was hurt by a TON of dropped passes and half-assed efforts in that game...and , of course, the play calling.

I think that in a nationally telecast, Prime Time game aganst the Pats, we have to stick w/KH as the starter. But, if the team is flat again, I think we may see JP again after the bye.

  8. Have you ever had sweet potato fries?  Those are nasty.  They serve them at Burgerville about this time every year.

    486274

I'm with you. I despise sweet potato fries. Actually, I'm a sworn enemy of the yam and sweet potato. (I'm not on good terms with the chick pea, either...but, that's for another thread.)

  9. It seems there are many here (I won't name names) who are stuck behind their keyboards munching Cheetos all day because they have yet to find a sport that utilizes both their:

-A combination of cunning, intelligence and strategic thinking that exceeds most NFL head coaches and

-athletic abilities and overall physical manliness of build that leave everyone else wondering why it is they never ended up playing pro sports.

Well put down the Cheetos and step away from the Wall, Mr., because here is a sport that is tailored just for you.

More evidence of the impending apocalypse. We are doomed! :w00t:

    Great find, though.

Who would have thought that a little stubborn lady could have such a positive effect on society? She, as well as her symbolic act, will never be forgotten.

    Here's to Rosa!

I wouldn't expect many props for her on this mostly right-wing, white, male forum. I expect some responses such as, "why couldn't she just sit in another seat? What's the big deal?"...or..."This wasn't a racist thing, I cant believe she played the race card."...or..."When I ride the bus, all the Black kids sit at the back of the bus, anyway. What's so bad about the back of the bus?"

    Have at it, boys... :w00t:

  11. Really, Jerry calls a spade a spade. He is has been dead on every time I read his articles. This is no exception. All of the Pollies, take off the rose colored glasses would ya, and leave Jerry alone.

    485607

Jerry just knows NOTHING (OK...very little) about football. He supposedly knows basketball. Just reading his articles (even the few that aren't critical of the Bills) reveals he lacks a sense of the game...he just doesn't "get it". The LA Times also had a guy that didn't seem to understand (or even like) football and they made him their main NFL writer...TJ Simers.

Asking a guy who doesn't really understand or enjoy a sport to write about it is kinda stoopid...dontcha think? It would be like having me be the reviewer for hip-hop or "alternative" rock. ..or asking Drew Bledsoe or Kelly Holcomb to win a game with his arm, under tremendous pressure while you have a perfectly capable running back to feed the ball to.

    Knowhadimean?

  12. Are you one of those people who believes everything they hear, read or see on DirectTV?

As someone who works in the industry, I'll flat out tell you that's ridiculous. 20 years down the road anything could happen, but it sure as heck isn't "in the near future." Go back to worrying about global warming.  :w00t:

    486051

WOW...that's a strange response. It seems as though you think global warming is a joke...and you think 20 years is a long time. While I agree one shouldn't believe everything that's reported, it sounds to me as though you should pay SOME attention to what the hell is going on.

  13. Everything except the game was GREAT! Real nice job by the North Star Crew (and SF Bills Fan)...plenty of beer and bug juice to go around. The Raiders' fans I sat with were really funny and even a little sympathetic. We took turns trashing our own team.

I moved to the upper deck to watch the game alone and catch a few rays...BUT, did it with a couple of Jack Daniels on ice...not all that expensive either, considering.

The Collesium was better (in almost every way) than what I remembered. (It would still suck to sit on the home team side because you're a long way away from the field there.) There's a real nice selection of beers (the food looked a little weak, though), getting in and out was easy (thanks to the bus, of course) and, as stated, the fans were great, too.

Now, if the coaches would have just RUN THE MOTHER FUC#ING BALL, it would have been a MUCH better day.
