1. 'I had big goals, and then things went down for me,'' he said, ``but I couldn't sit there and feel sorry for myself. What it did was make me more humble and make me want to work hard. I look at every practice and every game as if it's my last. I felt like the first two games I didn't play to my potential. Some people feel sorry for themselves and keep going down the same path. You reap what you sow.''

call me crazy, but that doesn't sound like a stupid person.

It's my understanding Wonderlic scores are not released. I always take a reported W-lic score with a grain of salt. With that said, there are any number of reasons an intelligent person might do poorly on the test. Maybe he knew he was going to be drafted in the first three rounds and didn't give a rat's-ass about the test. Maybe he made a nice pattern with the mutiple choice questions. After all, sometimes you don't reap what you sow.

    Oh, per your request:

    "You're crazy."

    You're welcome.

  2. As Corp000085 mentioned, drinking water before you go to bed is the best and, well, only way to cure a hangover. All a hangover is, is dehydration. That's it. Alcohol will do that to you. So drinking plenty of water (I usually have two full glasses) will pretty much fully prevent sickness.

I agree that drinking water before going to sleep usually helps lessen my hangovers (but, I rarely get hangovers). But, I must take exception to the characterization that "all a hangover is, is dehydration". IMO, hangovers are different things for different people. Many doctors (or medical "professionals") define hangovers in terms of how much alcohol remains in the body.

IMO, a hangover is when you feel really crappy the day after drinking heavily. Whatever helps you feel better, can be called a hangover cure. For me, drinking water the day of the hangover has NO impact on how I feel. Sleeping, or drinking more booze are the only sure cures, for me. (The drinking more may not be a wise choice...but, it works, for me.)

This is a good thread for one new to the hangover. There are a number of good suggestions...now /dev/null will have a wide range of options to try. Maybe he can try a different option every time he gets a hangover and see what works for him

(BTW, I'm not jumping of you or Corp here...there were several posters who suggested things like the "only sure cure..." or "a hangover is only..." I just picked yours to respond to.)

  3. There were so many threads started blaming Donahoe (we refer to him as 'TD') for:

    -making bad hiring decisions

-bonehead plays at the worse possible moment by decent players

    -poor draft picks

    -bad free agent signings

    -etc

Many of us decided to take it a step further and see what else was "evil" Tom Donahoe's fault.  It is 100% tongue-in-cheek.

Lana, this is TOTAL Bulls#it. This is a bogus explanation of the meaning of this thread. My guess is TD made him give you this reply. (Or, perhaps Campy really is TD.)

I'd love to tell you what this thread's really about, but TD won't let me. That bastard!

  4. I have a friend who is a Detroit Lions fan and I picked the We stuff up from him I found it annoying at first, however it grew on me. As far as the defenense not having a nose for the ball Takeo Spikes had 5 interceptions last year and 2 for tds. I think the big part is JP if he fullfills his potential he will obviously be much more difficult to game plan for than Bledsoe was and harder for the Pats defense to stop.

My "we s#it" comment was meant as a shot at myself for using it so much in my post. BTW, WE win, THEY lose. (Got that from my grandfather.)

  5. I dunno and have some doubts. I reviewed the tapes of JP's performances last year and I could swear he was only putting in 157.5%.

    Shortest FFS post ever?

But, as usual, right on the money.

  6. And I thought I'd been scarce around here lately.... what happened, they finally let you out?

    324716

    Lo,

Nice avatar. I've been w/o a computer for a LONG time. I finally got it fixed and much of the hard drive has been recovered...I'm starting to go through old files.

I got it back up (hey, get your mind out of the gutter!) right before the draft. I was going to post earlier, but the stupidity level here seemed to be at an all-time high. Things seemed to have turned around a little the past few days...so I'm back.

    How/where you been?

  7. I think we have a chance at home, but how do we beat them at Foxboro?

    324302

Well, if we have a chance to beat them here, we have a chance to beat them anywhere...no? I mean we're not a dome team. Weather's not a factor. I guess the turf might make a slight difference, but come on.

We're getting better, they're getting worse. Our day will come (and we'll have everything). God (and Satan) I hope I'm right.

BTW, what's up with all the "we" and "our" s#it in this post? Am I a member of the team now? Where's my check?

  8. Imo, our Bills do not have the time nor cap space to waste on a non-talented player such as Josh Reed.

I am guessing, but imo, he is a classic example of a kid who didn't try hard enough. Posters here throughout the years have told of his partying exploits. I believe it.

As much as I am not thrilled by the Parrish draft pick, at least he has possibilities. Josh otoh has been here long enough and his tenure has been a failure.

Jmo, but I am hoping that the Bills cut him, and his pass dropping ways.

    324661

    Yo Bill, what up?

One thing i forgot in my previous post in this thread, is Reed often comes across as being REALLY stupid, or REALLY stoned in interviews I've seen. While I disagree with you regarding Reed's talent, i have to admit something seems to be amiss upstairs.

As far as dropped passes go, Moulds dropped his fair share last year...but I don't want him gone...yet.

  9. Padron. The Anniversary Series are GREAT...but, even the basic Padrons (3000, for example) are top-notch. I prefer the maduros, but they're all good.

It's hard to go wrong with Fuente. If you can find and afford them, the OpusX series are sensational. (Unfortunately I can't afford to even LOOK at them right now...but, I'll be back!)

CAO has many interesting series. They're pretty trendy right now, but don't let that discourage you. I like the MX2 (double maduro...get it maduro times 2 = MX2). The Extremes are quite good as are the Cameroons.

    Rocky Patel...trust me...these are yummy.

There are many good Cubans...but there are more bad or fake Cubans. Make sure you know EXACTLY what you're getting before you invest.

Finally, get Cigar Afficianado. this may be the best "lifestyle" magazine on the market. Seriously, you don't even need to be a cigar smoker to enjoy this mag...but, if you are, it will help educate you. It's like The Wine Spectator...but much better, IMO.

Sorry I chimed in so late.

  10. Reed had a sceond straight bad year...not a good sign. But, if you go back and look at his performances, you'll see he made some of the toughest catches made by any receiver on the team (or in the league). I remain convinced his "drops" are mental. He didn't go from having GREAT hands to having bad hands.

He can still catch the ball. So why didn't he? Well, he hasn't been showing up to his counseling sessions with Dr. The Dean...but, I'll hazard a guess or several:

As Drew seemed to have no confidence in him, he rarely threw in his direction. Also, his strengths were not in snyc with Drew's style and/or the playcalling of the OC most of the seacon. IMO, Reed should be used across the middle and be involved in veryquick timing patterns. Because of these factors, and more, he had very few opportunities. I think he may have experienced every chance as a make-it-or-break-it situation.

If that was the case, he didn't respond to that pressure well (at least not in most situations). But great athletes in all sports have a tough time when they're trying to "get it all back with one swing". (This is particularly true for those in sports where swinging is not involved! )

If the Bills can find a way to get him involved early and often I believe he'll be a fine contributer to this team. (I'm all over the idea of trying him as a receiving/3rd-down back.) But, if the team has no conficence in him, or if the the team continues to employ very slow developing routes with the QB waiting for a receiver to be visually open before throwing, Reed will not be an asset here.

Either way, I think Parrish will contribute in the #3 slot this season. He'll be a game-breaker...if the game doesn't break him first.

  11. Either go back to sleep or start drinking again. Delay the pain. If you time it right you can stay drunk while you're awake and save the hangover for when you're sleeping. Of course, you'll never feel it if you're sleeping.
