1. There's this new thing out called "change". Maybe you've heard of it. I changed my mind. JPL can't lead a bunch of virgins to P***y at a strip club.

    447984

But this shows how schizo and unrealistic you are. Either they're the best or the worst. They were going to lead us to the Super Bowl and now he's the "most innaccurate passer in the ENTIRE league"...after two games. That's just flat out stupid.

Notice I'm not calling you stupid, or a moron (that would be wrong). I'm saying that taking those extreme positions after a very few games is stupid. And then saying you know more aboout the Bills than anyone here (after making shuch stupid statements) is moronic.

Now, there are those who believe we are defined by what we say and what we do. So, some would label you a stupid moron if they noticed you regularly made stupid and moronic remarks...but, not me because that would be wrong.

That's my last post in this thread, because to continue to contribute to a thread defined by stiupid and moronic would be...well, I think you can fill in the rest... :)

  2. Ya know, when the Cowboys bashed it into the line on 3rd down and settled for the field goal...and their fans booed...I said outloud (to myself), "that's gonna bite them in the ass".

But, then I looked at the clock and thought (to myself), "there's probably not enough time left for the Skins...Brunnell doesn't throw bombs. All Dallas has to do is sit in prevent and this puppy's over".

After the first Carlos Santana Moss TD I KNEW that Dallas would sit in prevent if the Skins got the ball again.

Parcells is truely a Genius. :)

  3. Anyone else get ticked off from the amount of commercials on Sunday during the game?  It was like 3 minutes of game and then 5 minutes of commercials for some car I can't afford or some investigative drama starring a bunch of metrosexuals that I could really care less about.  If I wanted to watch commercials for 2 hours, I would have stuck a pencil in my eye a long time ago.  I don't care how the NFL makes it's money, less commercials = happier fans (even with the manhandling we got yesterday).

The alternative is PPV games. I'll swallow the ads.

  4. UOTE(scribo @ Sep 19 2005, 10:02 AM)

When MM pulled J.P. I thought it was a terrible move. But when I realized it was for only one series, I was fine with it. Give him a series to watch and think. It seemed to work well.

My biggest problem with the coaching is that they seemed to come in with a flawed game plan and never were able to make the needed adjustments. As has been pointed out many times here today, the Bills played right into the Bucs' strengths the entire game.

There is no doubt in my mind that MM and his staff were out-coached yesterday.

    *

Agreed and that tends to happen when a Super Bowl winning coach goes against a second year guy.  MM learned yesterday and the Bills are bound to get better for it.  Sure it was a painful, ugly lesson, but that is kinda life in general.

Personally, that game does not dilute my enthusiasm of where they will end up at years end.  I still think they have the potential to win 10 games.  No joke.

    446647

I just want to say I agree with da bodaya. I said, "WTF?" when he was first pulled...but understood it when he was put back in. I actually applaud the move now. JP is plenty tough enough to handle this, IMO.

    I, too, think they'll win 10. :)

  5. Alright, that's enough of that.  To put it in coachspeak, "planning to fail is failing to plan."  Picking games to lose?

    446587

    Er...umm...well...

I believe I said If I HAD to pick a game to lose. Besides, I'm neither coach nor player, so I can do this w/impunity!

    Now...go away!

  6. This is the biggest problem with the Bills. They play small when it counts.

    446569

They ALL count. But, if I had to pick a game for them to lose...it'd be the TB game. It was as unimportant a game as they will play all year.

Actually, I think this little spanking is probably a good thing for this team...the whole team, including the coaching staff. Now, of course, we'll see if it actually helped next week.

  7.

"He just told me, ‘Jerry, if you want to wear the #80, you have my blessing'," said Rice at his press conference Tuesday. "When he said that it sent chills through my body, because I know what he has done for this city, and when you think about the Seattle Seahawks you think about Steve Largent. For him to just say that without any hesitation, that I could wear his jersey, that meant the world to me.” Jerry Rice press conference

    442936

Classless Bastard! How could he say all those terrible things about Steve. Obviously he thinks Largent is a chump. What a maroon. They should kick him out of the league. He lost my HOF vote, I tell ya. I just so FREAKIN PISSED that Rice has the unmitigated gall to wear #80...who the hell does he think he is?

Jesus Roller Skating Christ, it's nobody's biz but Largent's and it seems like he doesn't have a problem with it. If Rice lost your respect over this, then your respect isn't worth much. ;)

  8. Or that small city that has been known to do some fairly decent Italian food.  NEW YORK!!!

    443184

NYC has plenty of great pizza and Italian food. Problem is, they also have plenty of garbage. The typical slice in NYC is pretty awful. But, I've had terrific pizza there. I really like Angelo's on 57th.

  9. :(  :(

My wife and I owned a orange tiger cat that we adopted from an animal shelter 4 years ago as a kitten.  He was cute as a button....7 toes on each front foot...he looked like he had mittens on his front paws when he was a kitten...he was such a little knucklehead getting into everything and keeping us busy.....we loved him very much....He was an indoor cat who greeted us everytime we came home and always exposed his belly for a bellyrub when we walked in the door.

About a week ago he started getting really sick....the vet diagnosed him with liver problems and we dropped 500.00 to treat him....fluids...special food...pills...vet visits.  He was not responding and not eating and slept all day and did not move.  I came home today from work to find him drooling and foaming at the mouth from nausea.  I rushed him to the vet and he said the skin in his ears were yellow from jaundice and it was not getting better.  We had to euthanize him and I just got home from the vet about 1 hr ago and I feel awful......my wife took it very hard.

I hope that anyone on this board who jokes about hurting cats and posting avatars with pictures of a gun to a kittens head with the words "DIE" across the top will think twice about how their actions affect others.  It is not funny at all and very immature.  Lets hope this does not happen to any of their pets because it is an awful feeling to have to put a pet to sleep from illness and watch their pet deteriorate.  Thanks for listening :D

    442991

That sucks...you have my condolences. I miss my cats so much (and I'm a dog guy, at heart).

I hear you re:dead cat jokes and such. Not exactly mensa humor there. But, as the K-Dog mentioned, don't take any of that personally. This is a tough time to understand that sort of humor...but, that's all it is (at least for most people).

  10. I'm suprised at this thread.  Ninos, Bocce etc are all decent, but there'e the rest.  The best is, by far, the one and only...La Nova.  I used to drive from Orchard Park to the West Side of Buffalo, just to get La Nova.  MMMMMMMM...La Nova......now I'm hungry & I live in a city where they serve pizza on cardboard  :D

    442902

As far as Buffalo pizza goes, I always considered La Nova pedestrian. Not thin enough to be a great thin-crust pizza (AKA pizza), but not sicilian either...not brick-oven...not corn meal bottom,,,just your basic old pizza. But, not bad. I always liked Mr. Pizza better ("His" pizza).

Bocce's was great....but, I burnt out on it. Milanos I did for awhile, too (Bocce's clone, in a way) but I tired of it.

Pizza Junction in NT (and there used to be one in Clarance) was always terrific...but, I prefer thinner pizza (did I mention that?).

I know there's a great pizza that I'm forgetting...and I keep waiting for someone to mention it and jar my old addled brain. :(

Please keep naming pizza joints! :(

  11. Mark's Pizzeria for thick slices.

I love the Big New Yorker from Pizza Hut for thin slices.

    442775

You know the biggest problem isn't that you actually like it, it's that you admit it in a public forum. I'd keep embarrasing stuff like that to myself, if I were you. :(

  12. Hey Ass, remember RRDD(aka R2D2 aka Double R double D)?  Right down from the Stone Jug. I worked a the Fort for a couple of years and we always went there for "Pizza fingers".

I can't believe no one has mentioned Honeys Pizza and Wings in NF????

    Jeff

    442718

Ahhhh the Stone Jug! Was there a couple months ago. Youngstown just ain't the same w/o Commerfords.

As for Honeys, the reason nobody mentioned it is because it SUCKS! Now, if you get the pizza there (well, the old Pine Ave location) at 3AM...drunk...and eat it there...then, it's just bad. They used to bring Honey's pizza to school events all the time (North Junior...RIP, NFHS), for fund raisers and such. Freakin' cardboard with red goo on top. Yeech!

  13. Wow, I am surprized you knew Mom's.  Your right about it being cold, well room temp, and still tasting great.  And I believe you are right about 56th street.  If you went out to what I think was Pine Ave, you could check out the Bug of the Month

Is the Niagara st area the part of town you were from?

    442115

No, I grew up in Devaux (sp?).

I knew Moms because we sold it at my grandfather's store (Parnella's Delicatessin on Buffalo Ave in LaSalle). I worked there when I was a kid. As I got older I often bought slices a various little stores. Occasionally, I'd hit the pizzeria on 56th.

As for Buzzy's, it really isn't what it used to be, I ate there a couple of times last year and it was just OK. Too bad.

  14. Football is the ultimate team game and Super stars do need other good players

around him to win championships....Even if you have the best line in football

I think you still need to be accurate to throw and get the ball into the WR...It is not as if the WR is running along...there are DBs defending them....

I don't like Brady in that he plays for the patriots and he keeps beating us....But he is a very good system QB....He does not have the same talent as a Elway or Marino, but has the same intelligence as a Montana....He is the best prepared

    QB in the NFL today.

    441666

BINGO, baba ganesh. Brady dissing is stupid (Brady hating is fine, however). The guy executes his offense as well as any. He is NOT Marino or Elway or Peyton or Steve Young.

He IS Bart Starr, Bob Griese and, maybe someday, Joe Montana. He might even be Troy Aikman. Brady wins, does exactly what he's called upon to do and is pretty damn accurate with the passes he throws.

It's tough to decide who's the best QB...but, one way to compare QBs is to ask yourself, "If the QBs changed places, would the respective teams be better or worse?" I think it's perfectly clear that if Peyton and Brady traded places, NE would be, perhaps, better but Indy would not be.

(Of course, this doesn't always work. If Vick and Brady traded places both teams would be worse, IMO.)

But, using that criterion, I think you'll find that Brady would make MOST of the teams in the NFL better.

What's funny to me is that EVERY announcer absolutely LOVES Brady...but, insists that he is underappreciated/underrated/etc. Maybe he was 3 years ago. Now it's hard to find anyone he doesn't think he's GOD. Except for the posters on this board...and Stupid Seehorn.

  15. Many thanks also for some great analysis.

I tend toward being one who emphasizes systems and that the running of them correctly will eventually make the difference. Yet, in this case it seems that not only are these teams closely matched in terms of level of performance, but they also are closely matched in terms of how they perform (great D and learning O).

I think this game more than most will be determined by:

    1. Individual efforts which simply make plays,

    2. Dumb luck in terms of how this oddly shaped ball bounces and the refs make stuipid calls or non-calls.

My hope is that the Bills simply have more playmakers in terms of D performers like Spikes, Sam Adams and Vincent on D, McGee and Clements on returns. and eventually WM on O and it will be the difference.

How the ball bounces we will just have to see but that is what makes the game interesting.

I think the proof of how good Lori's post is becomes apparent when you see the length of FFS' post. She just didn't leave ya much, Sunny...that's not very nice!
