  1. So let's get this straight. If you could go back in time and have your choice of 1 player for the Bills, you would take Janikowski (1,675 points scored) over Peyton Manning (539), Tom Brady (428), Drew Brees (428)? Let alone Ray Lewis who had a measly 18 points scored over his career? Not saying Shaq compares in value to any of these guys, but points scored proves it right? Facts are facts. Data is skewed when it comes to kickers.
  2. Shouldn't they be putting those transgender "women" in the women's prison? Or shouldn't they at least have a choice? What if they are uncomfortable in a men's prison since they think they are a woman? It isn't about just peeing next to someone. It is allowing it to be a free for all that anyone can do at a whim and not be removed that causes privacy concerns. That and where to draw the line at locker rooms and other more personal areas.
  3. Oh geez, you have some communication issues. You said the Chiefs did better because Charles wasn't playing. I simply said I don't want to get into that, because it's mostly speculative. But since you do, he isn't the reason that KC had a rough start. Their defense allowing 3 consecutive 30+ point games might have had something to do with it. Here's a visual just so you can see that the Chiefs defense actually doing something was the difference, not Jamaal freaking Charles being injured. With Charles: 20 points allowed (win) 31 points allowed (loss) 38 points allowed (loss) 36 points allowed (loss) 18 points allowed (loss) Without Charles: 16 points allowed (loss) 13 points allowed (win) 10 points allowed (win) 13 points allowed (win) 3 points allowed (win) 22 points allowed (win) 20 points allowed (win) 3 points allowed (win) 14 points allowed (win) 13 points allowed (win) 17 points allowed (win) As for the "how many years should I go back to suit my point", we will have to agree to disagree. The fact that you think that 4th year back is super valid, but the 5th year back is just too long ago is laughable though. As for someone else scoring TD's, Chip Kelly put other RB's in that situation, I watched it constantly in 2014. The year before he scored a healthy 11 TDs. You say he didn't adapt to....something. I say the coach that traded him used him in a different way. These next few seasons will tell though.
  4. 1 year at 6-10. 1 year at 9-7 living off Schwartz Defense. And then he just walked away. I am not saying he is the worst ever, but his situation does deserve unique criticism.
  5. Ugh, I don't want to get into the Chiefs amazing turnaround from 1-5, to 10-0, even though I brought the Chiefs up, suffice to say it was not because Charles was out. Correlation does not imply causation. But they can feel free to give him to us if he is such a detriment to them winning. As for the contract, the Chiefs paid $9 million a year to extend a back into his "twilight" years (29-30), which people tell me is an awful idea because RB's expire around 27-28. The Bills sign LeSean McCoy at age 26 for a 5 year contract worth $8 million a year, and it's ill-advised. We already discussed McCoy becoming a "4.3 ypc" player. You chose to ignore the years he wasn't out of convenience. They were "too far away, or long ago". McCoy is a 4.6 ypc player who tends to do better when he isn't injured. Proven by subsequent and consistent upswings in his ypc when he has an injury free season (2010, 2011, 2013). When he was injured and missed at least a quarter of the season his ypc's declined to 4.2 on average. Then he had his last year with Chip Kelly which he had notable disagreements with, and we can observe an increased use of Sproles, and Polk in their backfield. (Yet still had a 1,319 yard season, but only 4.2 ypc)
  6. Nate Hackett for starters. Buffalo Bills Doug Marrone - Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett - Offensive Coordinator Jacksonville Jaguars Doug Marrone - Offensive Line Coach Nathaniel Hackett - Quarterbacks Coach Those two were out of their league on the Bills.
  7. I think Jamaal Charles is a better back than McCoy, but I wonder if there are Chiefs fans out there calling for the dumping of Charles and putting Spencer Ware in there. He had more YPC's, and 50% more TDs than the sluggish, oft-injured 29 year old Charles!
  8. As others have mentioned he has a 4 year contract with a 5th year team option. Also, I know I said 6 games, but I also said .5 years which is half of the season, or 8 games. There is a range in the recovery time after all. Either way, Whaley picked his guy. You can attack him all you want if Shaq doesn't turn out, but it isn't crazy for a GM to look at the long term worth of the player rather than just the first half year. Whaley made the informed decision that Shaq was worth it, and now time will tell. I wouldn't want it any other way.
  9. What constitutes the end of the world? I don't know, the world has never ended. But how about not burning Whaley at the stake for making draft choices that extends beyond the first 6 games of that players career? Yes, the next 4.5 years outweigh the next .5 years, 16 years without playoffs, or not. It is common sense.
  10. Brownsfan999 "dooooooommmmmeeeeeddd" Seriously though, was RG3 just never any good throwing?
  11. Draftniks and then the common viewers who took to youtube after the trade up to watch his highlight videos and subsequently comment that half of his highlights were screens that won't work in the NFL. Or that he was always wide open....I guess that means bad opponents? I am not sure people truly appreciate what Watkins can do. Of course you have the correct response to that line of thought!
  12. Give EJ Manuel a chance. Rail on Tyrod Taylor. (Maybe I am wrong on this, but I distinctly remember reading some vicious back and forth about Manuel vs Taylor during the competition) We shouldn't cut Mario Williams even though he half assed it last year. This Shaq Lawson guy is injured, and will be out 5-6 games. To sum it up, I'd say you are a Bills player homer. I have no doubt that if Lawson turns out to be decent you will be the first person to lobby for re-signing him.
  13. If only there was a head coaching vacancy for him. #allthespotsaretaken Edit: Off topic, I still can't get over how bad the Jaguars helmets look. Change the damn things already.
  14. Team (ppg ranking) Patriots 1x (3rd) Giants (6th) Chiefs (9th) (edit: I could be swayed on this one) Jets 2x (11th) Eagles (13th) Jaguars (14th - despite Manuel's 20 point donation) In comparison the defense failed to hold the following top 15 offenses in 2015 down enough for our offense to compete: Patriots 1x (3rd) Bengals (7th) Redskins (10th)
  15. Back to square one with that call then
  16. This is good information. I always wondered why they thought Kolb would be a better alternative than Fitz outside of cost. I hated the Kolb signing, but if this were true, at least it had some reasoning behind it.
  17. I believe it should be mentioned that the Bills medical staff did not "miss" or "whiffed" on anything. Vic Carrucci who has been widely critical of the Bills this past few weeks, has this to say about it. Not aimed at you section122, but as for Sammy being 50/50 to be injured, he has missed 3 damn games. I am not sure if you guys play fantasy football, but it is rather eye opening how many of these star WR's and any players really, are constantly playing through nagging injuries. It's almost as if AJ Green wasn't dealing with a toe issue in 2014, or Dez Bryant didn't break his foot last year, or DeSean Jackson's hamstring injury, or Antonio Brown's concussion. But yep, porcelain Sammy. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2016/05/29/bills-mailbag/ @TimtheCommish: How much do you think they knew about Shaq's injury? How does "off the bus day 1 starter" go to out for up to 1/2 season? VC: I'm positive the Bills' medical staff was every bit as aware of Shaq Lawson's damaged shoulder as any of its counter parts in the NFL. And that includes the ones working for the teams that took him off of their draft boards. I'm positive Whaley and Ryan and the Pegulas were fully briefed that surgery was forthcoming either immediately after the draft or during or after his rookie season. This was a case of making a pure value judgement that simply getting the player was more important than any risk associated with being without him for part of the season. I think the Bills were hoping against hope that Lawson would push through this year as best as possible, but at some point during rookie minicamp, he came to the realization that what he was able to do successfully in college just might not work as well in the NFL. He saw the operation as being better for his chances of living up to lofty expectations. The Bills had no choice but to go along with his wishes. Once Lawson fully recovers from the surgery and his operating with two healthy shoulders -- something he didn't have while establishing himself as one of the more dynamic edge rushers in college football -- Ryan believes he'll have a critical piece that was missing from his defense in 2015. Now, if things go sideways, especially on defense, during the time Lawson is missing, there will justifiably be questions raised about the wisdom of the gamble. On the other hand, if he's able to play in the second half of the season and make a significant impact (or even show the promise of great things to come), the reaction will be different.
  18. I think it's until the country sees the Bills as a team playing well and making the playoffs they won't care to take a closer look at the talent of our players. That jab at Tyrod just seems like bitterness though. They hope we don't find a QB before they do, just like we hope Hackenberg sucks it up for them.
  19. Yep we will just write off the 2 out of 3 good seasons in the last 3 years as aberrations. His only poor seasons were his rookie year, and the 2 seasons he was injured. So here's a question I haven't at least asked yet. Which is it? Are you arguing that McCoy was never good? Or are you arguing he has declined with age starting at age 24? Or both I guess?
  20. Didn't think I'd have to post this here. Bills have 5 Jets players on their team. That's it. 5. Two of which have never played for Rex. Lattimore has only 1 year on the Jets. 4 with the Packers. Retread though? The other Jets "retreads" are: Barnes (2 yrs with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) Salas (2 yrs with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) Enemkpali (1 yr with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) Powell (1 yr with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) You'd be better off complaining about the number of Williams on the team. 5 if you were wondering. Edit: I only see 3 players from Clemson. Just scanned it though.
  21. 'Their offer—three years, with $12 million payable in the first year, plus reports of $6 million in each of the two years afterward, with NFL Media's Ian Rapoport adding that $15 million is to be guaranteed" Is this reasonable? Great $15 guarenteed. But what if he wants to play in 2017 or even 2018? He would be signing away 3 years of football for $24 million. Who knows if he would actually play til 2018, but it seems like it would restrict him if he were to sign this contract. Edit: And by restrict him, I mean practically confirm this will be his last year. Why play for $6 million a year after 2016 when Brock Osweiler is making $18 million a year. I may be bias in not wanting him to sign though haha.
  22. Edit: Scratch that, misread the dates. It's funny to see the facebook fans crying about the cover picture of him in a Jet uniform though.
  23. Is there another story out there? From Dunne's story, we have a quote from Ryan saying this: And Henderson's agent saying this:
  24. Hasty generalization says Rex didn't talk to Henderson, but it doesn't mean no one did. We have rushed to a conclusion with insufficient evidence or facts. One fact (Bills medical) became apparent, and changed our conclusion. Rex didn't talk to Henderson, but any further speculation has no basis in facts or evidence.
