I've gone back and forth a lot on the QB debate. But now I've decided. If you cannot say "yes" to this question, you have to dump him. It doesn't have to be a resounding yes, but if you can't say one or the other, you have to dump him. There is no point wasting years on paying a QB you cannot believe will win you a championship and scrambling to put a team around him. You're better off trying to find the next great top 10 QB by playing in the cellar. QB's that I personally think pass this test in no particular order (including ones that already have, so you have to keep them too basically): Brady Rodgers Big Ben Rivers Romo Eli Flacco Dalton Bridgewater Carr Brees Winston Mariota Dak Wentz Newton Smith Palmer Luck Cousins Stafford Ryan QB's that I am iffy on/cannot say Yes: Bradford Cutler McCown Tannehill Bortles Taylor Fitz Kaep Goff Now you may say, "how is Alex Smith in the yes category?" To be honest, I am biased by his recent streak of making the postseason. QB's can get hot and get lucky once they make the dance, and he's shown he can make it repeatedly. If some of the iffy QB's were on that KC team, that list may change, but we can't know that for sure. Obviously lots of those guys are works in progress. Wentz may suck by his next contract, and so could Dak. Goff coul dbe a star in 2 years. But judging today, this is what really matters There's a group of guys that the answer is yes, and a group of guys that you can't answer, and that's how you should dictate who you pay. Good enough to squeak into the playoffs and always being a bridesmaid is not the goal.

Dude Wilson was 10x the QB TT was their first seasons starting. Use. Your. Eyes.
-
Sure one game. What about our defense sacking Wilson and putting the ball in TT's hands in Seattle? What about TT throwing game sealing INTs versus the Iggles? The several TOD's we've had in one score games? If you want to tell me the defense didn't do TT a lot of favors, I can get on board. I hated Rex from the start, I was saying he was a hack mid 2015 and I knew they were kinda sucky. But the bottom line is in a one score or tie game with 4 minutes to go, TT fell asleep almost every time. Period. You can squeeze into the playoffs with a game manager QB and a great defense. You cannot win a Super Bowl without a clutch game manager.
-
Haha, no.
-
TT's record against winning teams, not even trailing, is almost as bad. Rodgers puts the team on his back. TT chokes. Anyone with eyes can see this.

Dumpster fire in Indy- will ESPN report?

Vontae Davis has been their best defensive player and he got him for a second. Yeah, that's a good move. Our best defensive player is a drug addict we had to take #3 overall who is on a suspension streak. -
Wanna dump Tyrod, then who's the new QB

So the Saints offense was better than the Bills offense. And the Saints defense was worse than the Bills defense. Brees did more, with less, and that proves we should keep Tyrod around? -

Not sure. I do know I'd rather have postseason wins than Pro Bowlers though. Along with a ProBowl QB who actually deserves it. The first post was essentially "Colts suck worse than the Bills." Don't open that can of worms if you don't wanna get dirty. TY Hilton in the 3rd? Fleener, Allen, Mewhort, Montcrief, Vontae Davis. Hughes was Nix. And he's still gotten us zero playoff games. Yep, but it's a results driven business and he got the result. Some folks get luckier than others. You don't get points for trying in the NFL. See directly above. -
What story did I change? Sorry that CJ didn't work out dude, seriously.

Grigson drafts a franchise QB, wins GMOTY, oversees 3 11-5, and 2 8-8 seasons and gets canned. Doug Whaley oversees 1 6-10 season, 1 9-7, 1 8-8 and 1 7-9, and has no franchise QB. Stays. Go Bills? -
Why do I feel optimistic? Let me count the ways.

Our OC didn't call the plays in Denver. AW was supposed to be healthy this year. The rest is, well I'm not sure. -

It's a Bills player WEO. Lord knows we've been blessed to never have gotten unlucky. -
If he showed he had talent? He was a first round QB!

That's true but it's something Whaley will not do due to the warmth of his seat. -
What should the Bills plan be from here on?

If whooping me is posting rambling, semi-coherent arguments in a effort to bore me to death, then yeah. -
Lol.

Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach
FireChan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is Whaley's 7th season with the team. Overdorf has been here 20. Russ has been here how long? Maybe they aren't responsible for 17 years but damn sure not just 2. -
Wait so Manning got bounced in the first round of the postseason the first 3 times he made it, throwing only 1 TD total, and that makes him BETTER than Andrew Luck playing 6 games in the first 3 years he made the postseason? Y'all just have something against playoff QB's. It's weird.
-
Why would the general press be negative? He's still a decent QB, by your own admission, right? Is the general press negative around Alex Smith? Peyton's first 3 playoff appearances. 0-3. 1 TD. 2 INT's. Also, lol Luck has no chance to win a SB? He has an infinite better chance to win every year he makes the postseason and the Bills don't. Guarantee he wins a Super Bowl before Buffalo. What a waste of time.

What should the Bills plan be from here on?
FireChan replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No not equal. But 2 drafts with 2 QB's taken in the top 10 is clearly more similar than a draft with 1 QB taken at #16 and the only QB off the board in the first. -

What? Did teams not need QB's in 2013? Is that what you're telling me? So 1 QB went in the first in 2013, and 3 went in the first in 2014, and 2 went in the first in 2015, and 3 went in the first in 2016, you'd stand by that having no indication on the quality of QB's in the draft? You would say that 2014 did not have a stronger class than 2013? Or 2016 did not have a stronger class than 2013? Really? There has been 1 draft class since 2001 that only had a single QB go in the first. And you're telling me that doesn't mean it was a weaker QB class than the rest? Like c'mon dude. There hasn't been a draft in the last 20 years that didn't have a single QB go in the 1st round. And yet this draft wouldn't surprise you to have none? This draft would be the first draft since 1988 to not have a QB go in the first, and that's unsurprising? Talk about blinded by hate. I think you read too many Watson faux-scouting reports and are now reporting them as "consensus" or whatever nonsense passes for analysis these days. -

Look at you ignoring 3/4's of the post. So cute.

He takes criticism, especially for turning the ball over too much. Which is a fair criticism and far and away his worst quality. http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/216312/colts-andrew-luck-has-to-resolve-turnover-problems http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/10/andrew-luck-worst-qb-rating-stats-most-interceptions-indianapolis-colts-playoffs-record http://www.sbnation.com/2015/9/22/9370589/andrew-luck-colts-turnovers-problems-chuck-pagano http://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/colts-andrew-luck-tallies-three-turnovers-in-loss-to-texans/ http://www.colts.com/news/article-1/Andrew-Luck-On-Turnovers-%E2%80%9CIt%E2%80%99s-My-Problem-And-It%E2%80%99s-Hurting-The-Team%E2%80%9D/51e4d856-f74f-469e-b915-eb30fb153623 You're just wrong dude. That 2011 Colts team didn't have to try too hard to lose. Also lack of results? 3 11-5 records, 3 playoff appearances and 1 AFCCG all in his first 3 seasons is a lack of results? What team do you root for, because I'd trade my soul for that lack of results.
