  1. What are the odds EJ ever has a Cutler-esque season? Why not increase our odds by getting both?
  2. That's true. But the first thing I look at when I watch Murray is not his YPC. I watch his BCV, his cut backs etc. With Spiller, it's pretty much only the YPC.
  3. This is what I don't understand. Not one person is saying EJ has no shot in the last few pages of this thread. Of course he has a shot. Of course we don't know the future. But when someone says, "he throws a great deep ball," it's just not true. These conversations always turn into, "you don't know the future!!!!!!" when no one is discussing the future. We are discussing the past and present. EJ has gotten chances and he'll get even more. All I know today is that he's not that good. I'm not going to lie to myself just because he's a Bill.
  4. And that's two different coaches of the Dolphins, right? Philbin hasn't been there for 6 years, has he?
  5. I'd go one step further. Is there another active HC with 3 or more wins against Brady/Beli? Maybe the Ravens Harbaugh? Not that I'm enamored with Rex's NE record, but it shouldn't be completed rejected.
  6. I think LA degrees are so big is because they attract kids who are passionate about the subject, and kids who want an easy degree, because they are told that's all that matters. Mostly the second.
  7. He's saying the poor take up kooky banners, like White Supremacy, Communism, and Democrat. I think.
  8. I guess not. How does calling few deep passes affect his completion percentage? Also, those numbers were from 2013.
  9. These ones. 2012: In 3 WR sets - 101 carries for 6.9 YPC; Less than 3 WR sets - 60 carries for 5.5 YPC (62% of his carries in 3 WR sets) 2013: In 3 WR sets - 63 carries for 5.3 YPC; Less than 3 WR sets - 128 carries for 5.5 YPC (32% of his carries in 3 WR sets) 2014: In 3 WR sets - 36 carries for 6.4 YPC; Less than 3 WR sets - 36 carries for 1.4 YPC (50% of his carries in 3 WR sets) In 2013, Spiller's YPC was 4.6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you cannot have a 5.3 YPC and a 5.5 YPC average to 4.6. Looks like they are wrong. Where are the rest of his carries? He had 202. Do we pretend those extra ones don't matter?
  10. Sure. But I remember a very distinct opinion that Spiller wasn't getting the rock enough in Chan's O. And everyone couldn't wait til Spiller got the ball until he puked, because Chan didn't give it to him enough.
  11. The intention of that sentence was even in Spiller's best year, even with his biggest fan as HC, he wasn't carrying the load as much as everyone believed he could.
  12. Yes he did. Spiller was having his great year, and he was getting spelled for Tashard.
  13. Did we call "bad" deep plays? Don't really understand the question.
  14. Maybe. He's only been in a decent offense one year. Wasn't Chan his coach for 3? Also, it's his fault that's he's a liability in pass-pro, hampering his ability to be on the field for a third of the time. But fair, I can accept that you think that. Personally, I think he's got no chance barring him never seeing meaningful snaps again.
  15. Very true. Better a self-aware clueless than a delusional clueless.
  16. Minus Barry's best season, his career YPC is 4.8 Minus Spiller's best season, his career YPC is 4.5 That's the difference, IMO. One good year brings his average up an entire half yard. Can you answer my question about if he finishes his career with a 5.0 YPC?
  17. Final question. Do you think CJ Spiller will average 5 YPC once he's retired? 1 or 1.5 out of 5 is not sustainable. It's a misrepresentation IMO. A fluke that is skewing the data. With Barry and everyone else on your list, you could wipe out their best season, and their numbers are still great. With Spiller, he becomes pedestrian. It's just that simple.
  18. I think I would've preferred a Schwartz promotion over hiring Rex. Rex is as clueless as Marrone on O.
  19. I see Spiller's good plays, I just see his bad ones more. I'd rather have an RB run for 2-3 yards every play than be boom or bust like Spiller. That's just a personal preference. He's a shiny gadget player.
