  1. Unless he, you know, starts turning it over a lot.
  2. Sign this guy to a five year deal at least!
  3. I wouldn't create a topic and opine that he deserves to be a Bill because of it.
  4. No you didn't. "I'd have to look it up and don't feel compelled to. I'm sure some great players have won it though. I'm sure some players that never amounted to anything in the NFL have also won it or you wouldn't be harping on the point." You were actually arguing the merits of SECDPOY without knowing who was on it. That's why I posted what I did. That's horrible. The rest of your post is irrelevant.
  5. Ovechkin has won it a bunch. Jamal Crawford, Ginobli and JR Smith have all won the Sixth Man etc etc. I'm going to try again. That list of SECDPOY is the single greatest piece of evidence for Michael Sam getting another look. Agreed? And yet, not a single person brought it up in this topic in their defense of Sam. Why? I asked on three separate occasions for someone to name me one SECDPOY off the top of their head and I got crickets. That's my point. They (and now you?) were arguing for something they didn't know. Now, your analogy doesn't work for about 15 different reasons. Mainly, because I didn't ask for all for them, only a couple.or one, and because those are professional sports awards, not minor or college leagues. But I'll humor you. You would never catch me making the argument that "X is great because he won the Sixth Man of the Year" without knowing anyone else who won the Sixth Man of the Year. Do you get it now? It's really simple.
  6. It's incorrect. Maybe I should have said irrelevant. Either way, the point still stands. Not knowing a single other SECDPOY and yet opining that that distinction is what warrants him another look is ridiculous. Like I said. I could say "X prospect was a captain at Vanderbilt," and that means nothing unless I have an idea of the previous captains or any context at all outside of "durr SEC."
  7. Great players have won it. Players who are bums have won it. My only point is that it's a meaningless buzz phrase. It has no meaning. It's not a barometer for success. "He's an SECDPOY," means nothing when you don't know a single other player who has won it. You might as well tell me he was a team captain at Vanderbilt. It's erroneous, but sounds nice.
  8. Still no naming of the SECDPOY's? Is it because it's meaningless, and you've never heard of anyone winning it before Sam?
  9. We of Israel believe that the only true solution to this conflict is a two state solution. Psyche!
  10. Without googling, name another SECDPOY. No one else has been able to. Yes. Tebow won the Heisman and was a first rounder. He was leagues above Sam.
  11. Buffaloed in PA lied, people sighed!
  12. I thought we also pursued Iupati. Whaley says the FA process is over, FWIW. But, if you think some training camp cut will be the answer to all of our O-line woes, I guess it doesn't really matter. I can use my eyes to see what the "baseline" is for improving the OL. It's really quite simple. We spent $6 million on an 3rd WR instead of overpaying at a position of need. Great. Hopefully it works out. Hopefully Whaley hits on a couple OL draft picks. Because it will be all for naught if we have a garbage RZ offense, and a garbage 3rd and short offense.
  13. I know that. Whaley doesn't have to tell the truth about things like that though.
  14. Is there really that much time? If the quote Dibs talked about is accurate, I'm not sure. Right. But they didn't get them. GG's post seemed to say that all the "whiners" were wrong.
  15. Who knows how much more they offered? All we know is "more." It could've been $100k more per year. Granted, it could've been $5 million more, but at this point, is it really not fair game to question the FO a little bit? I mean, the GM himself is saying that the O-line hunt was a "failure" or a "loss" and we're still getting the "they tried though!" responses. Give me Whaley's salary and I'll try really hard too. If I ranked the positions of need where I thought their importance was, it would go: Interior O-line Exterior O-line TE WR/FB I guess? Were these really needs? And yet, here we are. The two places I considered were the most necessary, are still empty. But, at least they tried.
  16. I don't know anyone who claimed they didn't try. Aggressive is relative. Was Bulaga on the jet back and forth or was that Clay?
  17. Which part? Trying hard is good enough?
  18. I didn't say any of that. All those quotes are from a different poster. Although, Whaley was calling the shots for the 2013 draft.
  19. A) Name another SECDPOY without googling. B) this could be said about any player C) this could be said about any player
  20. I actually don't want a clean sweep. I think Whaley is good and Nix was decent. I know that Nix was grooming Whaley to succeed him, it was widely reported. My only point was that saying this regime is not connected to the one that picked Maybin is incorrect. That's all. Whaley could've hated the pick, who knows? But it's connected.
  21. Because he's not good.
  22. He was still here. He was part of the Maybin team.
  23. Buddy was here in '09. Whaley is Buddy's hand-picked successor. Now, I'm of the opinion that Buddy was an alright GM, but he was here, and Whaley was groomed by him to replace him. It ain't the exact same FO, but it's not a completely different one with no ties to the previous regimes either.
  24. I actually disagree with that, but Kiko just made sense as trade bait. A young, cheap commodity with a little risk, but also with good upside. Chip wanted Kiko, and Rex and Whaley thought they could live without him. He would've fit in fine here.
  25. Playing on the Skins and Jags doesn't count as "career."
