    My plans well

I will leave the house at 630am work on framing a roof out over a camper till around 430 pm. Go home cook up the roast potatoes 🥔 onions and green bean casserole. Eat and sit in front of a warm fire in my house.

Priceless my view of lake Ontario 😍 while working,  not having to listen to the other half family.

Have a great one Scuba Steve.   If you know that one I owe you a whole dollar.

  2. Another thread was started the other day on the tush push, and I’ll repeat what I wrote there.  The referees strategy to slow this down is they are watching encroachment closely as the O Linemen on the Eagles sometimes cheat the LOS.

It’s a topic of debate as the potential threat to players neck is high with all of those bodies.  It will probably go away after the year.  A traditional QB sneak is just fine and perfectly legal.

That really was a heartbreaking loss.  After the 6 game winning streak and the way things were falling into place, Bills fans were really starting to Billieve the drought was coming to an end.  I remember the atmosphere at the stadium was pretty wild that day but there were soooo many Steelers fans there.  Gut punching loss but I got a nice taste of revenge going to Pittsburgh in 2019 when we beat them to clinch a playoff spot and pretty much knock them out and so many Bills fans traveled there that day.

It was a heartbreak.  Who placed things back into perspective for me was Ross Tucker.  He used to host the morning kickoff  on NFLR and I asked him about that game.  He stated they lost so many O Linemen towards the end of the year, they were pulling guys off the street.  He stated basically, we couldn’t get it done so he took responsibility for not giving his QB the protection he needed in that game.  He stated it was a terrible loss for him as he felt more of a part of Buffalo, than any other team he played on in the 8 years in the league.

So it wasn’t just the fans who had their heart broken.  Anyway, we wouldn’t ever done anything in the playoffs if they had pull off the upset.

As far as a run, we’ll find this afternoon if Brady can be the difference.  We need a convincing win today.

  4. Chandman, rookie mistake.  😂🏈🏋️♀️

As far as the scrum, I was fine at first with the play, but several teams have tried it and some guys injured.  Then I was listening to Movin the Chains and Pat made a salient point.  He had Paul Alexander on, and another Rugby guy on different days, and the risk to a neck injury is a real possibility.

Lately, refs have been more active in calling encroachment before this play as the linemen cheat the line.  That’s their current plan, so I did say yes, make it illegal.  I don’t ever want to see any player get a snapped neck.  That would be horrible for the sport.

It’s not that I don’t appreciate the physicality of the sport, but there is also a balance with safety.  I don’t think the Eagles are cheating.  I also am fine with the traditional QB sneak as Brady embarrassed teams forever, but it wasn’t a rush push.  He knew how to get low quickly and get that last two feet.  I know everyone hates Brady, but he was a master of the sneak.

Agreed. Totally reactionary. This place would fire or cut someone every week.

On the question, it is a good one. We know that the Pegulas were integral in the last OC change we made in-season when they fired Greg Roman two weeks into 2016 - after he had taken the offense from 26th to 13th in his one year in charge. They met with players and then Rex and the upshot was Roman was out.

I don't rule out that Terry involved himself again but I suspect ultimately McDermott with counsel from Beane is the right answer.

Agreed GB, nothing as important as an OC firing doesn’t include the Pegulas, Beane and McD.  We’ll never know and no one is going to talk about it later.

It’s a futile discussion as it will stay behind jd closed doors.  It’s the same in business.  Unfortunately, I’ve had to let people go, but not until I’ve done everything I could to coach them up, and then it’s up to them.

  6. I don’t think the booth IR the sidelines will determine anything, but moreso how he calls the offense, and I’m not impressed.  I can’t believe I’m writing this, but an Allen led offense is boring.  Dorsey has a lot to do with it.

Joe Marino made a good point as well as Orlovsky last week in the option routes like the one Allen was nabbed for intentional grounding makes them play slower.  Also, too much two by two on each side makes the Bills look predictable.

    Stanley Roper.

Even got a spin off after Three's Company called "The Roper's"

I remember his wife with that crazy red curly hair.  That was bad tv.  At least Welcome Back Kotter was funny.  At least we had All in the Family and MASH.

It’s crazy almost all of the MASH actors are dead.  Alan Alda os one of the last.

Thanks as always Pony Boy.  Stay Golden.  Yeah, I know the reference.

Three’s company embodies the 70’s.  I remember Don Knott’s was Ralph Ferly, but I forgot what this landlord’s name.  Too funny.

Its funny as Larry in that show who was a stupid character, but in his elderly years has been a judge more times than I can count on Blur Bloods, Law and Order, and so on.

We didn’t have White, Von, Hyde for most of the season last year and Poyer missed a bunch of games. Hilarious that fans are too prideful to admit that maybe Frazier wasn’t the problem. So stupid.

So Von who played in 11 games didn’t help with his 8 sacks, and Hyde only 2 so correct, and tre who played 6+playoffs helped not at all.  Really?  The problem Biscuit is you like to pick fights.  Take care as I won’t respond.

    Have a good day partner.

  10. Well, my Dad served during Korea as well as two uncles, and my Dad is still kicking at 93.  I’m thankful everyday for him and his sometimes cantankerous self.   I’m happy for those who made through their service and finished their #1 job, they came home alive.

I think McD is doing just fine as DC, so I am not worried about that personally.  But OC, no more inside promotions if they are just gonna keep running a similar offense and not put a real stamp on it.  I would much rather see someone come in from the outside and bring just new thoughts and designs to this offense

McD did better than Frazier would’ve done as DC, as those losses were significant and the defense kept us somewhat in games.  They’ve just been on the field way too long that any defense would get worn out.

As far as OC, I mentioned to Joe on the extra point show yesterday, I wouldn’t wait for the end of the year.  I

d place Brady as interim and we can decide whether he remains into next year.  In Carolina, he resisted the push to run more and kept them in games through the pass.  Isn’t that what we e wanted.  Either Brady turns this anemic offense around and keeps his job, or we have the off season to find the best OC we can afford, and Terry needs to open up the wallet.

high crotch to single leg take down! Wrestling for the win

You beat me to it BB.  I just saw the highlight and thought of my wrestling days.

The defense is doing the best they can even with three devastating losses in Tre, Milano, and Jones.  Douglas and Joseph may replenish. to some degree, but the original three are not easily replaced.

As Mister Defense pointed out, the offense has been anemic and gets three and out way too often.  It stresses the defense being on the field for so long.  In the Bengals game, our defense was on the field in the first half for 21 minutes.

I’ve been resistant to jump on the fire Dorsey rhetoric, but I’m coming around to it.

It all started going south once the Araiza stuff happened. Maybe we can right the ship. Bring him back

Not to mention that Bass has missed more this year than previously has he not? So maybe Martin is losing it at holding as well.

I would respect the Pegulas now that Araiza has been completely vindicated if the reports are true, to give him an opportunity.  I don’t know if he has the directional ability to pin the ball close to the end zone based on where we are on the field.  He definitely has the leg to boom it.

Simon, I’m kidding.  C’mon man.   The he double hockey stick always gets changed etc.  I really just am joking with you.  You know me by now.  I’m not the guy that picks fights. When someone personally attacks me I just ignore and never reply.  It’s not productive and not why I’m here enjoying you’re site.

You and every Bills fan brother…

Then logic sets in and makes me wonder if indeed we would be stomping them if Brady was there anyway… Tommy boy was never sticking around when the team overall was on a serious decline in talent as well as his own capabilities.

Only game with a resounding win over Brady that I can remember was the one back in ‘03 the year after Bledsoe arrived.

I know we won maybe 5 games the whole time Brady was there. The only other win where we dominated was with Tyrod, Bob Woods and Shady on O… Same time frame we had the Brown’s as our LB duo.
    Brissett was also their starter.

    Edit;

Look at the Bucs and Brady when Josh was with us a few years back… They were absolutely throttling us late in the 3rd and went into back burner mode.

You missed one.  The Ryan Fitzpatrick win where Brady had 4 picks and was throwing tantrums on the sidelines.  After the game as expected, Brady stated they lost vs. we won and their mistakes.  He was so engulfed in how superior they were in every facet.

Thats why so many of us in our 50’’s who vividly remember the good times with Kelly.  My dad who's still kicking at 93 vividly remembers the Rockpile and fondly remembers the Kemp 60’s championship teams.  That was before my time.

I couldn’t hate Brady while in Tampa as my sons and friends are all Bucs fans.  He did make the team competitive, and to the politics side, he brought Tampa their second championship, made the most out of the talented players on the team, and proved it was Brady, not Belicheck who brought in those 6 rings and 8 appearances.

  16. Since the game is at 8;20, dinner is long over for me so a healthy dessert of Woodford Reserve is on the menu.  A short wide glass, turned upside down has raw sugar cane on it like salt for a margarita, turned back, ice, three lime wedges.   Straight so no soda or anything.  Why ruin perfection.  You guys should try one after dinner out as they are delicious.

Hopefully celebrating victory, not drowning in misery.  I’m always hopeful.  This is the next big challenge post Fins.

Overdorf has persisted through it all, and mostly because he is a dutiful, ethical, excellent lawyer/accountant who never sought undue power. He used to catch some flack, but that guy is not to blame for any of the floundering.

Littman had major influence over cap decisions and broad contract parameters, whereas Overdorf was the guy who made those green-lighted deals workable and well-constructed for all parties involved. I suspect Littman had major influence over all the non-cap salaries as well, meaning he had a hand in bringing in less expensive GMs, HCs and their staffs, scouting depts, etc. (And also played a major role in the more expensive, established names not even considering Buffalo, due to his (and RW's) reputation for interfering with football ops.)

ANYWAYS...Montez Sweat is probably underrated by many fans due to meh sack numbers and lesser draft status than Chase Young, but I'm pretty sure he has some solid secondary metrics, like pressures, hits, forced fumbles, etc. Kind of like when Jerry Hughes was obviously being disruptive for the Bills but wasn't recording a ton of sacks. Guess the Bears are gambling on him continuing to improve despite joining a much worse DL group?

Noggin, as always, right on the $ with Sweat.  His secondary evaluations are impressive and good for him in a solid contract.  If a team wants to pay that much for a pass rusher, then it’s their money.  That’s the point of capitalism.  If they made a mistake, they’ll pay for their choices down to road.

The real opportunity for the Bears is to find a solid President of football operations, GM, then HC.  Follow the McBeane playbook.  Purge guys like Brandon and Wrex, and replace with the right people.  Purge bad contracts, build with sound draft decisions, and buy intelligently role players.  What did McBeane do by 2019, they had been drafting well, got rid of Darius, and Sammy, and they bought an O Line.  People can complain about the line, but it was better than in 18.

Until the Halas family starts making good decisions, they will continue to flounder even with Ngakoue, Sweat, Edmunds, and so on.  They need to find their Josh Allen.  My advice, is have mgmt make every attempt to tank, get Caleb, and buy an O Line.  From there they can build a team and with the Packers finally rudderless with a QB thank god for the last 30 years they’ve run the NFCN.

Detroit is the new hot team in the north and they have built a team in the right way.  People laughed at Campbell until they finally came around to accepting he knew what he was doing.
