No doubt-- they're 4-11 for a reason. But, so do the Pats*. As a divisional opponent, they're a tougher matchup for us than they were for the Rams. And with the #1 seed still in play, it's maybe equally important that we a)win, and b) finish the game healthy. Game-planning the m-fers is paramount.

Not for us. #1 seed is still in play.

I think we're actually pretty lucky the Jets have been playing pretty decent football in the last few weeks-- better than they played earlier in the season, anyway. The Rodgers-->Adams connection is pretty strong right now, their O-line has been gelling. Their D has probably underperformed to what was predicted, but the last few weeks provides quite a bit of tape on how McD and co. might game-plan. That's going to be important for what should be a tough division game, and keeping the roster healthy.

12/22/24 GAMEDAY Week 15 Bills vs Patriots* Game day Thread
Rocky Landing replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
https://www.nfl.com/news/jerod-mayo-expected-to-return-as-patriots-head-coach-in-2025-barring-collapse The headline: "Jarod Mayo Expected to Return as Patriots* Head Coach in 2025, Barring Collapse over Final Weeks of '24" I'm trying to imagine what would constitute a "collapse" for the 3-11 Patriots*? -
Around the NFL - Week 16 (12/22/2024) (*no Bills talk, please!*)

I'm happy the Jets are playing well, and giving the Rams a hard time on O, and D. This is the kind of tape our coaching staff needs for next week to avoid a trap game. -
The dueling stats arguments surrounding Cooper seem pretty pointless. Obviously, Cooper makes the WR better-- I don't think anyone is arguing that. IMO, his biggest impact is that he expands the field a little bit, and makes the field of play a little larger to defend. What I find interesting is that Cooper, his lack of targets notwithstanding, has made the "everyone eats" scheme, where numerous receivers can be targeted on any play more effective. There were posters who felt that idea was a pipe dream, and that the addition of Cooper proved that. But I think it's been quite the opposite, and the fact that the leading receiver in the Lions game was the backup RB illustrates that. It's very hard for DCs to predict where the ball is going on any play. Brady has occasionally used the jumbo package on passing plays. Cooper will get more targets when the opposing defense makes it efficient.

I voted the deep shot to Keon. If you watch Allen, and then the replay that shows Keon, Allen communicates to Keon, with one quick point, for him to extend the route, and keep running, and Allen lasers it to him. Amazing athleticism, and improvisation to extend the play, amazing communication between Josh, and Keon, amazing throw, and an amazing catch. But, if I were to vote on best play design, and execution-- the spin, and shovel to Shakir for the TD was art.

We just paid him $30M not to play here...

Random talking head says something about the Bills

I think "blathering talking head," and "random talking head" are close enough to be included in this thread. -
Week 14 - Bills at Rams Game Week Thread

I was walking around the stadium with my son before that Chargers game. It was almost surreal how profoundly the Bills fans outnumbered the Chargers fans. -

That number may actually be much higher. I've gone to every LA Bills game since the Rams first moved back to LA, but have never identified my team preference, and there are many transplanted WNYers like myself here. The Bills' players have commented after every Los Angeles game that it felt like a home game. And honestly, the Rams fans have always seemed utterly lazy to me when it comes to getting loud at the right time. When the Rams get to third down, expect SoFi to get LOUD. -

That's true, but it doesn't make a difference. It's well inclosed, and there's no wind in there. -
The stars are aligning for a dream season

For anyone talking about "dream seasons," or "stars aligning," etc., please STFU. EDIT: ...respectfully. -
Just caught a blantant cheap shot at our QB from last week

I believe they're also allowed to carry scissors, if they choose. -
Without apology, I have remained consistent in my support of McDermott, and the belief in his ability to grow, and improve as a head coach. And I feel that his tenure as our HC has affirmed my support. And while I do have a tendency to be a homer, I can truthfully say that I haven't felt this confident in a Bills HC since Marv Levy. Same goes for Beane.

A) I disagree. Retiring with a ring would put a perfect cap on an incredible career. B) I'm sure that he knows he will have to compete for playing time. I would be pretty surprised if that weren't the case, and if it wasn't made clear to him.
-
I'm saying the potential to get a ring playing on the team he spent so many years on would make it worth playing a backup roll for Hyde. That is no knock on his competitiveness whatsoever.
-
If he thinks he might get a ring out of it? Absolutely.
