That's an irrelevant question, semantics notwithstanding. If there is a QB in FA who is better than Cassel, would they be less likely to sign with the Bills now that we have acquired Cassel, feeling that Cassel would decrease their chances of becoming the starter? If that makes them "afraid of EJ and now Cassel," (it doesn't) then so what? If they are a better option than Cassel, then yes, I want them.

And did Romo's production not decline as a result of his injury? If you were following the thread, Beef Jerky was implying that the large contract Fitz had signed was the reason for his decline in production. I dispute that, as it makes much more sense to me that his cracked ribs were more likely the reason. If you want to substitute the word "reason" for "excuse," fine. I don't think that Fitz signing a large contract was his excuse for his decline in production.

My question is: Would Jake Locker, (or Matt Moore, Or Hoyer, or any of the other crappy guys going into FA), be less inclined to accept an offer from the Bills, knowing that Cassel has been added to the competition?

He saves me a lot of time, I know that.

Syracuse isn't on the list of worst cites for crime, economy, or graduation rates. Although, to be fair, I'm not sure if anyone is paying any attention to Syracuse.

We weren't expected to tag him, were we? He hasn't walked, yet. They're still trying to strike a deal. Hard to call us the "same old Bills" with new owner, and coaching staff.

I think that's exactly backwards. EJ has had three knee injuries in his 14 starts.

Why?

It seems odd to me that posters give us a better chance to get to the playoffs with EJ in 2015, than EJ developing into our long-term starter. Do people think that he has already developed into a decent QB? Most of the posts that defend him opine that he hasn't been given time to develop. But, even if he starts the season a much better QB than when he was benched, I would give us a very slim chance of taking the division, which, like it or not, makes getting into the playoffs a long shot- 20%, at best.

Does Locker give us the best chance to win in 2015? Why?

I don't believe anyone (EJ detractor, or otherwise) is realistically looking for a franchise QB at this point in time. (Although, there is the occasional, "what if Drew Brees climbed on the wrong bus?" style comment.) The idea that EJ will be our next franchise QB is as likely as Sanchez, or Locker, or Hoyer being the next franchise QB. Which is to say: not very likely. With as few options as are available, the question should be, "who gives us the best chance to win in 2015," and that should be the only question. The notion of hiring a FA vet QB because they would be "a good backup for EJ," is bizarre. I would put Moore on the top of that list. Why? Because it's just my opinion, that's why!

It depends on the franchise. He could open up a Cinnabon, or something.

It is interesting how good his numbers were in 2013 with the Bears, and how bad they were in 2014 with the Bucs.

As deep as the RB class seems to be, there are also quite a few proven, top-notch RBs hitting FA. (Moreno would be my pick, but there are others) In my opinion, we should be going after BPAs with our limited draft picks, and if that nets us a running back, so be it. But, I don't think drafting a running back should be a priority.

A friend of mine works on that show. They're filming a new season now, and have already bought next season. Sheldon and Amy have time.

I'm not sure if the stats would bear this out, or not, but it seems to me that in the last couple/few seasons, Chandler's hands have become more reliable, with far fewer dropped passes. And, being 6'7" certainly gives him a height advantage. But, I do feel that he plays like he's afraid of getting hurt. I can't remember ever seeing his feet leave the ground when making a catch.
