  1. << Quoting Josh Reed: "In eight years we never made the playoffs and didn’t have much success..." >> And you were part of the team those eight years, which means you were part of why the bills sucked, too. Which essentially means that YOU suck. Coming from this guy -- who shouldn't even be in the NFL because he's horrendous -- This shouldn't offend anyone, IMO. BA
  2. Now, yes. Back then -- It wouldn't quite have had the same effect. But your point's taken.
  3. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a gay quarterback in the NFL. ~Troy Aikman I keed, I keed. I guess I need to find some humor in this, because it's really a very sad story.
  4. Not really a rumor. Just speculation that the woman in question has her share of... gifts. The ones that keep on giving. As one of the posters put it: Stay away, Robert. BA
  5. I think Washington would care. Has anyone in the history of the game ever been put on PUP or IR for an STD? BA
  6. Why, oh why, didn't they just call him "Woody?" We could have enjoyed Bills "penis" jokes much earlier! BA
  7. Depends on what you consider taking "the fall." McGwire, Sosa and Palmiero will only sniff the Hall if they buy tickets. They might not have taken the fall in the legal sense, but they certainly will be (and have been) punished. Not exactly. BA
  8. K-9, they are called "LAWMAKERS" for a reason, and our country is going "FLUSH" rather quickly. If you believe this was Congress' most pressing issue -- especially over the past six years, when things have been B-A-D in so many RELEVANT arenas -- you are in a very tiny minority. Congress oversees federal courts, but RARELY gets this involved, if EVER. This was not the battle they should have picked. You have the right to your opinion. Disagreeing with it is mine. I'm refraining from commenting point-by-point because I have partisan views on them all, and that's what another forum on this site is for. If you want to debate me there, feel free. I've said mine here, and stand by every word. Nothing, other than Clemens playing for them. Just taking a cheap shot. It's a Monday; Guy's gotta have *some* fun. ~ BA
  9. It's a good point, and my "local" point was case by case, not Clemens-specific, because nothing has been proven. Distribution alone probably makes it a federal crime; distribution over state lines DEFINITELY does. That said, federal crimes are dealt with in federal courts, in front of a federal judge. They are NOT brought before Congress. And, the only "crime" he was charged with was lying to Congress. Not the REAL crime itself! It's mind-boggling to me. I can see much better uses for our tax dollars than prosecuting Roger FREAKIN' Clemens for lying to liars. Congress might improve its horrific approval ratings by focusing on -- I don't know -- important stuff? Issues that affect us all? BA
  10. Then let it be dealt with on a LOCAL level, within the proper jurisdiction. If it becomes a federal case, so be it. But keep Congress the hell out. Not ONE member of Congress attended the trial at any time. Doesn't that tell you something? Do you know what Congress' role is (or SHOULD BE) in our government? I'm not so sure you do, based on the above. Why did Congress have "to step in?" Please explain how this was Congress' business. Hey, if you want to pay for this garbage, it's up to you. I don't. For the record, I can't stand Clemens, Bonds OR the Yankees. But that's not what this is about. It's about abuse of power, which has become all too common among our LawMAKERS. BA
  11. I loved LT and will miss him. Unbelievable nose for "the hole" and the end zone. Won me numerous FF leagues. I'll never forget Draft Saturday in 2001 -- I was driving from Los Angeles to San Jose, listening live to some AM station. I was amazed that San Diego got Tomlinson AND Brees -- both of whom are sure to be first-ballot HOFers. BA
  12. Should have never gone to Congress to begin with. ~ What I meant was that MLB/sports writers can decide whether or not he gets into the Hall. Without that induction, he's just another "past" pitcher who people will forget about. THAT is the way he should be punished. With regard to all sports --unless there is something "criminal" -- I don't want to pay for it. And I don't know a single person who does. BA
  13. Agreed. This should have been handled by MLB, not our tax dollars. BA
  14. Another athlete gets off. Total waste of our tax $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. No link yet; Fox News Alert. BA
  15. Pats* fans can read? BA
  16. I'd rather fly under the radar for as long as possible. I don't think beating the Jets puts us on the map. If we win Week 4 -- We're outed. BA
  17. Peace. And for the record, I still love my Bills and hope Graham will prove me wrong.
  18. Worked for Flutie... I'd take Flutie (from back in the day) on this team RIGHT NOW over what we've got.
  19. K-9 -- Whoa. Please chill for a second. My reply was to three separate posters in one thread. I may be a new poster, but I've been following this board for as long as I can remember. To be straight -- You DO bring a lot to the table; I've read your past posts. Yours was NOT the flame. Let's calm down on this, okay? If the other poster wants to take it up with me -- fine. It wasn't meant for you. Starter, for sure. And with the solid backing of his coach. No QB controversy. He'll be that team's starter and there will be no doubt about it. (Like Andy Dalton -- See below). In my original post, I predicted Wilson will be a "franchise QB." I never said he'd be awesome. I never said he'd be elite. I never predicted "greatness," as you stated. A "franchise QB" does not have to be any of those. Ask Marvin Lewis. Andy Dalton is their franchise QB. He's a very good QB so far, and he's better than what we've got. BUT, I don't believe he will ever be great or elite. Still, he will be their starting QB for years to come. "Franchise QB" is in the eyes of the head coach. Looking at what Seattle has at the position (I predict "Flynn" will be Rob Johnson II, BTW), I believe Wilson has a very good chance of being THEIR franchise QB. Can't stand Pete Carroll, but he does know how to coach. Given our QB situation, I saw Wilson as the ONLY QB from this draft class (other than picks 1 and 2) who could benefit the Bills. BA
  20. Seriously? You distorted the context of my point to try to make yours and you compare that to grammatical and spelling errors? And the "rarely brings anything to the table" quote was not aimed at you. The original author's quote is right above it. Congrats on the lame put-down at the end, though. BA
  21. He's listed as 6'0, 180. MAYBE with heels and weights strapped to his ankles. That's a "stick" in the NFL. It's much more about who they chose while better options (imo) were on the board. And the fact that Jacksonville was "going to draft him..." That hardly makes him a viable pick. It's friggin' Jacksonville. Tiny WRs in this league traditionally snap like sticks. Didn't we have a WR like that who spent most of his years injured? Reading comprehension skills FTW. Too bad you missed the point. We were talking about a "franchise QB" -- NOTHING about "greatness." Here's the benchmark: Three years and he'll be a starter in this league. And his team will consider him a "franchise QB." Anything over that and I'll be happy to post that was wrong. Anything under that and you do the same. Deal? Just another fan who proved me "right" about the flames. Not surprised -- You rarely bring anything to the table, anyway. I am NOT saying he's the "next Brady" -- not by a long shot. But no one in the NFL projected that sixth-rounder to be a franchise QB, either. It CAN happen. BA
  22. The talking heads can kiss my you-know-what. I do project it. I was pissed as hell when we passed on him in the third round and traded up for stick boy. I took a lot of heat for my comments in the "Shout Box" that day (go figure) and I'll take more heat from this post. Knock yourselves out. I just wonder how many of you will admit you're wrong when he proves YOU wrong. Not that I'm holding my breath. BA
  23. I'm just going to go with one of my favorites and one of my least favorites, based on my experiences with both: Favorite: Marcellus Wiley. (He stopped by our Bills Backers club in Orange County, Calif. during the offseason and hung out with us for about three hours. One of the classiest football players I've ever met. He didn't leave until he shook every hand, autographed every picture/ball, etc. He really seemed to enjoy himself.) Least Favorite: Lonnie FRIGGIN' Johnson. (Never saw a ball he didn't drop. That's the only Bill that ever worked me up, New Yawk style, screaming obscenities at my TV). BA
