This part I agree with you and it bothers me. I hate the fact that companies can lobby for special advantages creating a unleveled playing field . Just another instance of government intervention screwing things up. Don't get me wrong pbills, I have no problem with the concept of taxation. I realize its a necessary evil, like government, to maintain the countries security and vital services like Police and fire. But like everything else, it gets abused. Percentage of tax gets so big it kills motivation for both business and individuals. Once this happens we are in trouble because the strength of the country is not the government but the citizens. Have no numbers to back it up but I'm thinking the cops should be worrying more about people f'ing with their cell phones while driving. Have the feeling that is or will cause more accidents because there are way more people doing that than driving impaired.

Who knows what the real story is. Even taking the article at face value, anyone who can avoid getting their money confiscated is a folk hero to me. Rob, on the other hand, thinks things through to the very end. Like he explained last night why he tolerates the lazy girls. He knows they suck. I guess the mistake the company made is they just should have laid her off outright. If finances dictate you get rid of a few people the you has to do it. No one is entitled to a job unless you own the company. Problem is that brings a entire new set of problems, pressures that the average employee knows nothing of. Taking you acquaintance situation at face value it looks like the company was weasely in its execution. Not necessaries wrong in its intent. Problem is most liberals(not saying you are) use something like this to indict the entire capitalist, free enterprise system or they cry union. Thing is they ignore all the great companies out there that treat their employees great. In our little company, we like to treat our employees as well as we can because its so hard to find good ones. I think this is universal in this country so generally speaking, it doesn't make sense that businesses treat employees unfairly. That is if they want to hold on to them.
