  1. ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills today have signed CB Johnny Adams, OT Edawn Coughman and RB Ronnie Wingo to the Practice Squad. Adams (5-11, 177-pounds) joined the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft and spent time with the Texans and Indianapolis Colts at training camp before being released on August 26th. Adams started 39-of-54 games played at Michigan State and totaled 157 tackles, 35 pass break-ups and 11 interceptions for the Spartans while earning All-Big Ten accolades three times (2010-12). He will wear No. 44. Coughman (6-4, 313-pounds) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and spent a portion of his rookie season on the team’s Practice Squad. He joined the Dallas Cowboys on May 13, 2013 before being released prior to the regular season. Coughman played nine games during the 2011 season with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League after a collegiate career at Shaw. He will wear No. 72. Wingo (6-3, 231-pounds) joined the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2013 NFL Draft before being released on August 30th. He tallied 1,089 rushing yards on 206 carries with eight touchdowns in 49 games at Arkansas. Wingo will wear No. 42.
  2. Better use of a valuable open roster slot than Burton, imho.
  3. Hmmm...disappointing this is all pre-draft hype. How's he performed in the NFL? "A fifth-round pick in 2011 out of Utah, Burton has struggled mightily through two NFL seasons but the Bills are desperate for corners after losing Stephon Gilmore potentially until midseason. Burton will open the season low on the depth chart, however, and is unlikely to help early in the year. Sep 1 - 5:10 PM" "In two seasons with the Vikings, Burton appeared in only 14 games and was buried on Minnesota's depth chart, failing to ascend in his first two seasons. He is not practice squad eligible, meaning that he's the first of three expected additions to the Bills' 53-man roster, where he becomes the sixth cornerback on the active list. He has a chance to suit up on game days and play special teams while Stephon Gilmore is sidelined with his wrist injury." "As a Bills Fan Living in MN Burton is unimpressive. He’s had multiple opportunities to earn a role in MN (esp with Chris Cook and Winfield both missing multiple games each of the past two years) and never took advantage of those opportunities. There was a decent amount of buzz on him two training camps ago, but that was about the highlight of his time with the Vikes. The local media gave him a pass his rookie season (that was the lockout year, when training camps were shorter and there were no mini-camps, and many rookies struggled). But he’s now had two full off-seasons to put it together, and hasn’t."
  4. He was a 16 game starter last year, and purportedly can play LG. Velasco was a 16-game starter in 2012, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 11 center, but the Titans will go with journeyman Rob Turner. They have fourth-rounder Brian Schwenke waiting in the wings. Velasco was set to make $2.023 million. He should draw interest from center-needy teams. Perhaps Denver will give him a call. Aug 31 - 3:38 PM
  5. They weren't the only armchair GM's saying that  Can't....expose....Rogers....oh the horror
  6. To those saying no one would pick him up now because they're trimming their own rosters, the Saints thought enough of Jumal Rolle to pick him up off waivers. That's Jumal Rolle, and it's not like we don't need CB help. So Rogers makes it through waivers on early cuts, but Rolle doesn't. Interesting.
  7. Rolle picked up by Saints, so teams are adding after first cuts. Still no word on Da'Rick.
  8. "had angered Bill Belichick so much with his actions — which included missed practices — that he was one misstep away from being released." Well, go big or go home? That was some misstep!
  9. No surprise on Rogers. Marrone telegraphed that awhile ago. Amazing how some misinterpret pretty straightforward comments and conjure up grand conspiracy theories!
  10. How 'bout practice tape? Doesn't practice tape help decide who gets on preseason tape? I thought I heard a coach or two say the tape doesn't lie.
  11. Besides Easley not being eligible for practice squad, I think Easley would get snapped up quicker than Rogers. The tape don't lie.
  12. Why you raggin' on Easley man! Guys been a beast!
  13. And camp breaks tomorrow....shocker! Glad they didn't negotiate away their right to franchise him again next year.
  14. And camp breaks tomorrow - about what was expected. Glad they didn't negotiate away their right to franchise him again.
  15. There's a new sheriff in town. Get with the program, or get lost. For a NFL head coach to publicly call out his player for "getting down" and "feeling sorry for himself" are pretty strong indicators this guy is not above minimal team standards and expectations, now matter how talented he may be, and will not be given an exception.
  16. I don't know what the season ticket holder discount is, but can't you work with them to buy the same seats you would've gotten if you bought seasons, but in that case you're only paying for 7 games, working out to about the same price? I know you want official seasons, but if they won't do that this seems like a viable plan B.
  17. I take it as he could be a fine player somewhere, but not here if he doesn't get his head on straight, and soon!
  18. Coach sounds frustrated with him to me, calling him out for getting down and feeling sorry for himself, unlike his fellow rookie counterparts. Unless he turns it around and shows Marrone what he wants to see, sounds to me like coach is very much contemplating cutting him.
