  1. Best player available. If the "best player available" is not someone we want or need, trade down for more pick(s)/player(s).
  2. There is even an interesting part about the Buffalo News and the history of afternoon papers. The Bills also had a -12 yard scoring drive last week. I almost forgot about that. My favorite part though is the last picture on the page. TMQ
  3. I have enjoyed the show. For what it is worth, according to IMDB, the actor that plays the coach was born in Buffalo. Another piece of trivia, the actor who played the QB in the movie was the little kid in Sling Blade with Billy Bob.
  4. For what it is worth, the rumor is that Chow and Fischer wanted to pick Leinart. The Titans owner and GM wanted Young.
  5. I am not asking this to be sarcastic. I am really interested in your opinion on this (because I respect it -- although we may disagree at times). What is it that he cannot do?
  6. Did you see him destory OU in the Orange Bowl a couple of years ago? Did you see him complete a fourth and long against the cover two defense against ND last year to keep the game winning drive alive? The guy can play the QB position.
  7. I want JP to do well as much as the next guy. Yet, it seems as though a lot of the uncritical JP supporters went out of their way to trash Leinart for this or that reason. They probably were afraid that we might even take Leinart when he dropped to us. Another thing that many of the uncritical JP supporters harp on is that JP has only had x number of starts after each game in which he does not play so well. Leinart has shown that there are some QBs who can be productive from their very first start. There is no question in my mind that Leinart is a better QB even at this stage of his career. That does not mean that JP cannot be a productive QB for the Bills. I had significant doubts coming into this year. This year, he seemed to improve with each game until the Bears game. Over the past two weeks, however, he has not played as well. I am not one of these guys who thinks that JP should be replaced. He should play the entire year. At the end of the year, we should be in a better position to evaluate him. I really hope that he turns out to be great. We will see. At this point in time, however, the Cardinals are thanking all of the teams that passed on Leinart and allowed him to drop in their laps.
  8. Do you watch football? Do you read? As I said, Tom Brady "does not have the strongest arm . . . ." Link Link 2 Link 3 As I said, Tom Brady "does not have the strongest arm." Nevertheless, he is one of the best QBs in the NFL and usually plays pretty darn well in Buffalo.
  9. I saw Leinart play in the Orange Bowl against OU. His arm was plenty strong. Tom Brady does not have the strongest arm and always seems to do well in Buffalo. It is more than just an arm. There are plenty of guys who have had strong arms that have not made it in the NFL.
  10. The Cardinal offensive line is nothing to write home about.
  11. It is humorous how people on this board have gone out of their way to trash Leinart. The guy is a good QB plain and simple.
  12. Ugh. I was there with my Dad. I could not believe it. We have never had good luck with the refs.
  13. You are correct.
  14. If the Dems take over Congress, it is the Bush administration's own fault. As a paleo conservative, I believe in low taxes, the right to be left alone, and small government, and always thought that the war in Iraq was a foolish distraction from the real war on terror and that the neocons used 9/11 as a pretext to accomplish pre-9/11 neocon goals. My fellow Republicans have had control of the three branches of government and have squandered the opportunity to achieve the traditional conservative agenda. The administration also squandered the goodwill that we had around the world after 9/11 and the opportunity to build real coalitions to accomplish U.S. foreign policy. Our standing in the world has never been lower. As result, I have mixed emotions about the upcoming election. It is a shame that the Bush administration sqaundered the opportunities that it had.
  15. I remember going to the games with my Dad. Those Braves/Celtics playoff games were really exciting. I remember when I was a kid, the Bills, Sabres, and Braves were all in first place at one time during one season (I forget which year). As I recall, the Braves were popular, but never really as popular as the Bills and Sabres. I will never forget the way I felt when the Braves traded Bob McAdoo to the Knicks for essentially cash. When I was at Cornell, I remember that Snyder gave a speech in which he bragged about receiving more in cash for McAdoo than he had paid for the franchise. McAdoo is now an assistant coach for the Heat. I ran into him down here at a Costco. I talked to him about the Braves and he was very gracious.
  16. The New York Times has an informative interactive guide illustrating the sequence of what happened. It is as you describe. For those of you who have not seen what happened, you may want to check it out. NYT - Interactive sequence on front page
  17. They are growing on me. The logo is not that bad (although I would have preferred the original logo). I just think that the blue should be a bit lighter. It looks black on TV. I also could live without the silver. All in all, it is not as bad as I had anticipated. The actual design is pretty good. The criticism of the logo also has been overstated.
  18. This is like what Stephen Colbert refers to as "truthiness" or as, in this case, "troothiness." In other words, it is mostly BS.
  19. I got hurt yesterday as well. Watching that game was painful.
  20. Foley and Bush: caption the photo contest
  21. That was an amazing game. Not only did the Sabres have to come from behind to beat the Habs, they also had to overcome really bad officiating. Those calls in the third period could have been devastating to a team that does not have as much heart as the Sabres. Great win guys.
