  1. That would be interesting. I also would like them to bring along Bill Polian.
  2. He did. He also played a gutsy game that day.
  3. Since you brought it up, Flutie did a great job at the end of that playoff game in Miami. You guys and Marcellus Wiley always seem to forget that game when talking about playoff games from that era. As an aside, I miss those days when you could actually use "Buffalo Bills" and "playoffs" in the same sentence.
  4. Although I have no way of knowing, Perry would be hard pressed to match Lindy's humor. Lindy also is a great coach. Time will tell with Perry.
  5. Those guys better watch out -- they only have so many fingers. He may have to start cutting off toes as well.
  6. We are already having a QB controversy regarding college guys who are not even Buffalo Bills. We always have been at the forefront of QB controversies.
  7. Trent Edwards yards per attempt - 6.5 Ryan Fitzpatrick yards per attempt - 4.7 As for Rodgers, I wish we had never traded for JP. Rodgers would have been available to us in the next draft. Of course, Rodgers has had the luxury of developing and watching the game until he started in his fourth season. I like Rodgers. Yet, the fact remains, we are not doing our QB (whether Trent or anyone else) any favors by repeatedly assembling piss poor offensive lines. I stand by my statement that Trent can be a very good QB in this league (whether for us or some other team). We shall see. I just want the Bills to stop fooling themselves about our line. They are doing a disservice to the fans, our QBs, and our other skill position players. Our team will not succeed until we learn this lesson -- which I thought we would have learned by now.
  8. Our line has been horrible for years -- just different degrees of horrible. We may as well as start Fred Jackson at QB if we are not going to fix it.
  9. I have no idea how Brohm will be, but I did see him play the Canes in college. He was very good. At one point, they were comparing him to another Bills QB with the initials JK. That was before he plummeted in the draft and could not win the back up QB spot with Green Bay.
  10. I will count you among the people who have liked our offensive line over the past several years.
  11. I doubt it. Coaches work much too hard for him to even want to be an offensive coordinator.
  12. How many of the check downs are the result of our QB getting his a$$ kicked behind one of the weakest lines in the NFL? Would you guys rather that he throw it up for grabs so that you can complain about INTs? As an aside, it is clear to me that Evans and Owens have decided to blame TE. I think that with Evans, part of it is personal given his relationship with JP. As for Owens, I had been a defender until I saw that he made absolutely no effort on the pass thrown to him immediately before the pick six. There is clearly something going on with him. He is a great player, but he does have a lot of dropped balls and chooses plays to take off. In the end, I am on record regarding our line. I think Trent can be a very good QB in this league. I have no vested interest in him per se, I just want my team to succeed in this league. Unless and until the Bills stop kidding themselves about our piss poor line, it does not make any difference who our QB and other skill players are.
  13. I agree that this move makes little sense.
  14. You have this backward. If we had good tackles and a good line, we would be fine at QB. As for the timeline, this, in a nutshell, explains our season. It all starts up front. The Bills "braintrust" was kidding themselves in the off season, and they are kidding themselves now.
  15. It does not make any difference. Unless and until we fix our offensive line, it does not make any difference who is back there.
  16. You are making too much sense for this group.
  17. For what it is worth, Shanahan's son Kyle is the offensive coordinator for the Texans.
  18. Yes. With Montreal as well, I think.
  19. That is funny. That is what Parcells did with Huizinga.
  20. I wonder if the interview yesterday counts for that.
  21. I am pretty positive that he has something like that in his contract. The question is whether being head coach of the Buffalo Bills is something that would interest him and his wife. For some reason, I recall that she is from Tennessee and that was one of the reasons why he was linked to that job. The Bucs did not fire him until after Kiffen got the Tennessee job. I love the guy's energy and think that he would be great for the team and marketing in Buffalo. The fans would love him. He is not the only guy who could get the job done, but he is certainly one of them.
  22. In my view, there are perhaps only a handful of people that "deserve" to start on this team. I do believe that Trent "deserves" an opportunity to start behind a quality NFL offensive line (or at least one that is not going to be one of the league leaders in QB hits). Obviously, no Buffalo Bills QB will have that opportunity this year. Having said that, whoever the "braintrust" decides should be the starting QB for the Buffalo Bills on opening day 2010, they sure as sh*t better have an NFL quality offensive line in front of him. Otherwise, we are just kidding ourselves as we have been for so many years. As someone else mentioned in a post about a week ago, we have built this team backward. It would be idiotic to draft a QB high in the draft in 2010. First, I doubt that any of them deserve to be picked where we will be drafting with our first pick. Second, we have much bigger needs at offensive line, linebacker, and defensive line. My two cents.
  23. If they are going to lay the blame on TE, they are kidding themselves.
